You are not alone (sm)

you have a very reasonable fear, especially in this economy.  I have been an MT for many, many years and have always had at least two jobs, usually one as an employee and one (or 2) as an IC.

If you have savings to fall back on, that will help relieve some of your anxiety.  I have that cushion of savings now and I know when work is low and not available, if I absolutely need to, I can use savings to pay bills until the work picks up again.  I have not had to do that but it does help to know I have that to fall back on.

The other thing I have learned over the years is that the dry spell usually is followed by a time of plenty, so when it is dry, I enjoy it while it lasts.  I get some reading done.....I do a thorough housecleaning.....I allow myself the luxury of taking a nap!!!

Here's to hoping things pick up for you and you can feel somewhat secure again.
