I have used tapes, C-phone and internet dss files. The best so far is the dss files directly from a digital recorder. C-phone recordings directly into the phone line are great. Rerecording of any kind, in my experience, has been awful. If anyone has perfected rerecording, no one I have worked for is using the technology that works. I am told the problem is that you cannot try before you buy, and the equipment is expensive. No one wants to plunk down a lot of money for something that may be make improvement in sound quality.
