I know that those kids didn't get that way without their parents help.  Believe me. I always hate to say that I hope I can get things right with the little one, but it is how I feel.  There is a big difference in the way we do things with her than the way we did with the other kids, but I was 21, almost 22, when I had my first daughter, and I was 38 when I had the youngest.  Like I said, the 5-year-old came downstairs Sunday morning and asked me if it was Mother's Day, and then went to her backpack and pulled out the gift she had made. That did make my day. I know I'm treated the way I've allowed myself to be treated by my husband and kids. Most of the time, I don't think about it because I'm so used to it, but sometimes it does bug me, like yesterday, and then it all builds up and builds up and explodes out in a big cry.
