You could try your State Boards board at this site ...

and ask if anybody in your area knows the scoop, assuming you don't mind mentioning the name of the hospital. Or you could give its initials I suppose.

Would anybody be interested if adminstrators would allow us to have this type of board or even put it on the main board.  Like on this other board they tell you to go to a certain web site for a coupon for 20% off Barnes and Noble or when Target has reduced prices on seasonal things.  Anybody got ideas or bargains they would like to share to save money?   We could call it the MT Stars penny-pinchers board.

State boards
Here in Oregon there is a posting on the state board that shows complaints, etc. against doctors.  So you might try that.
I see it now, thanks! On the state boards it's
This made my day (how sad is that???). I guess we don't need to go to the Comedy Stop unless there's a new joke anyway . . . (LOL)
State Boards
Why don't we all try the State Boards on this site?  We could really network.  This site has been a big help to me and my endeavors.  Thanks to the administrator and all who support it!
Please see our state boards. NM

I haven't been able to get on that page for weeks.
State Boards

Anybody else having trouble getting on the state boards?  When I try is says it cannot display the page.  Just wondering if it is just me.

State boards?
Does anyone know what happened to the State Boards forum on MtStars? I was trying to click on it but it doesn't look clickable. I want to look for hospital jobs in my state and thought people on there would have some info.
State Boards are Active Now!
Click the Menu on your left.

Thanks,
MTStars Support Team.
I use mostly the state medical licensing boards. If you
go to Google and type in Florida (pick a state) medical license it will bring up the licensing board for that state and other web sites. Out of the 3 states I use most, I am able to search just by first, last name or county. I usually search with first name, county and the first initial of the last name to narrow it down.
Have you tried the state boards here to find other ICs in your area?
.
Doctors sometimes will post on the state boards, though
usually they don't post, but ask other doctors who they use.  If they do post it would most likely be in your local classified ads.
very few responses on the State Boards on a daily basis
So I thought I would try the main board. If I don't get a response in a couple of hours, I guess it could be taken off.
Thanks

If the state boards are no longer active, why haven't they been removed so people don't waste
nm
on these boards, any bulletin board....sm
as things go way over to the right side of the browser as people make longer threads and they become unreadable....so the moderators have to go in and thin (prune) out the threads........that's the only reason for removal of benign posts.
With this site, you can search by name, state, city, etc. sm

Regarding a legal board, we are not planning to add any new boards. We feel that there are plenty of
boards for various topics of discussion.  There also will not be a MQ board set up.  Posters may post on the Main board or Company board about companies.
Which state board?

state board

I check out the state board from time to time.  Anyone from Mississippi.  I know most of the acute care facilities that used MQ.  I notice that one of the hospitals is advertising for two inhouse transcriptionists. (RiverOaks/RiverOaks East).  Any feedback.

I tried posting on State Board, but is anyone else from TN?

I said every state has a licensing board. lol
Every state has a medical society. lol

Check with your state's Labor Board on #2
.
The State Board is no longer active - nm

What? State board? This board?

My suggestion is to call the Labor Board for your state. SM
If you are working in a hospital and you have to physically be there, I think the law states they must pay you an hourly wage.  I think they're trying to screw the MTs.
Any CAL GALS want to post on the state board for chatting?
Thought we could find out what town each from and the goings-on there.  Good Idea?  Retta the Rascal
Get in touch with your State's LABOR BOARD. Years ago I got stiffed....(s/m)
out of one paycheck (that bounced), plus the employer had been lying to me for almost a year about my health insurance! (Was taking $$ out of my paycheck to pay for insurance, but instead kept it for herself.) I went to the Labor Board, paid a very nominal fee to file, and all I had to do was write down what happened, and that I wanted my money that I'd earned, plus what I'd paid for "insurance." Not only was I paid (fairly promptly, too!), but they went into that office and tore it apart, finding many more labor infractions. Business was shut down, and I believe she did some time in jail. Even if I hadn't gotten a time, that alone would've been worth the filing fee!
Gee, wish all these newyorkers would meet on the New York State board. It gets lonely up here.

This site first came to my notice because another board
Sure enuf, when I checked in, it was NASTY, and yer right, a few people were acting like they owned the site, and dissing people left and right. It really was pretty arrogant of me to think I could change anything but I waded in there, and made a few KIND comments, and took posters seriously, and tried to answer, encourage, sympathize (a little) and just throw in my humble 2 cents worth.

Modboxmom, PLEASE continue posting and reviewing and adding in your 'take' on things, cuz the nasties only take over when the good people aren't there to shame them. People are addicted to kindness, and even if people are on here who are not MTs, they probably just come looking for a version of human "touch", and a wee bit of kindness. Life doesn't hand that out to just anyone.

I'm with you. Nasty is as nasty does, but when you come in as a class act, they kinda fade, it shows them for what they are... narrow, nasty, mean-spirited bullies who just waltz thru places like this looking for people to beat up.

You and me baby, we can take on the WORLD and make it a better place, starting 1 chat at a time.
There is a whole post about that on the MTNews board on this site.

I am sorry. I meant boards not broads. Now those darn boards have disappeared again.

You realize you are posting this on the main board, right? Not everyone at this site works for MQ.

The 'Good Site' problem poster on the Career board has been resolved.

SITE ADMINISTRATOR: PLEASE ESTABLISH A BOARD FOR THE MQ PEOPLE, TRUST ME THEY'VE EARNED IT!!!!!

but boards will be dano's boards and that's the issue. no one dare disagree with dano.
yes the boards will be boring with just one-sided opinions but we need to please dano. isn't that the purpose of MT Stars?

Work for a company in a state that has no state income tax
I think there are 3 or 4 out there (Florida, Texas, and a few others.)  Then you really avoid the tax situation.
Name a state and put every company in that state under suspicion.

Tell what the first letter of the company is and every company with that initial will be suspect.  I would imagine that everyone who works for that company has received an inquiry from department of labor, so they would all be aware of it.

Why do we persist in setting up companies to be torn down when there is no reason for it.  If a company is suspect, then give the name of the company, don't give big hints that cover at least 5 companies, 4 of which may be the best companies to work for, but fall into the category of an alphabetical letter, etc.

Contact your local BBB in your state and in their state if different from yours.

Not mandatory, as you state it depends on your state - sm
or county. Where I am I do not need it; though if I was cutting grass or landscaping I would where I live, makes no sense to me as I am providing a service, but very happy I don't have to have one. We pay personal property tax here and I would have to list all my business related equipment and pay taxes on it every year I was in business. So until I am told otherwise by my county, I will not be getting a business license.
Several companies still train on site. In fact, we are piloting an on-site training sm
program, where everyone would come in to the Keystrokes office to train for 1 or 2 weeks. We have a large training room and feel that this may be a way to cover all aspects of an account, be right there to answer questions as they come up and have one-on-one contact.

It will be optional at this point and may not be more effective as remote training, but some people have expressed that they miss the training that you get when you start at a hospital.

We are trying to bridge that gap between working in-house somewhere and working at home.

It may seem out-dated in many ways, but sometimes going back to basics is a good step to take!
I have noticed sometimes I will try to get into a web site and that site will freeze up and I dont

know if I have too many screens opened up and minimized or what. I tried to open a website sent by email and froze up the email screen. Not sure what I am doing.

Things are different from state to state, but I think
you probably could, if you are actually "laid off."  You would have to get a letter from your surgeon regarding your temporary disability status and take to the unemployment office and to Medicaid....but you know how Medicaid works, 1.5 pennies over the income limit, you don't get it.  But, as I stated, laws differ from state to state, so you would have to inquire or go on their websites and see what they will approve and what they will not.
If not in your state, try filing in THEIR state. Then they
