You have to look at it in a different way - sm

I'd much rather have what you have - 8 cpl on good fast clinic work where I average $24 per hour as opposed to 10 cpl on a heavy ESL hospital account where I'm lucky to cover 200 lines an hour.

Just forget the cpl rate and adjust it to per hour rate.

Back in the day I was getting 12 cpl doing ortho clinic work and raking in $36+ per hour.  Alas, those days are gone and I'm doing 9.5 cpl and with the platform they are on, lucky to get 250 lines per hour.  Same docs, same work, just not as fast and easy to do once moving to the platform.  It equals to almost $24 per hour so that is why I stay.

What you need to determine is if you can make a decent wage with what is offered to you.  If the account and/or platform suck, then even 12 cpl is not enough.
