have your hard drive reformatted. Vista is the operating system. In order to go back to XP, you have to remove Vista entirely and then put XP on your hard drive as the operating system. It will take a professional to do this, or someone who has the knowledge. Geek Squad could do this. Would not advise you doing this on your own.
