also possible copy/paste of document saved as "RTF" or "TXT" (sm)

In Reply to: You should be able to use "save as" (sm) - mtmtmtmtmt

usually works just fine ... I don't trust Word not to have eliminated "save to WP6" as an option since they have achieved near GLOBAL DOMINATION. (on my tool bar that starts with FILE, and end with HELP -- under HELP, there is WP help -- but it's not installed -- try that first-- maybe you have it)

I have my copy of Word set with save to RTF as the default (I hate Word) and have copied from that into both Bayscribe and Meditech without difficulty while copy/pasting WORD documents resulted in garbage

The tricky bits, irrc, had to do with tabs, indents bolding etc. -- (but in my case I was copying into proprietary software which didn't support those commands) --- so you will want to do a test run. I'd try RTF first -- hope you have "print preview" or a friend in the office -- good luck -- i

A macro can copy, switch to another document, paste, and
switch you back to your original document (or remain in the new document). Keyboard shortcuts can highlight lines or paragraphs to copy and open a new blank document. You don't really give enough info on exactly what you are doing to offer more help.
can you copy and paste?

If not, check this site out!!!

Wow - it is interesting. You know, there is actually an organization called The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in charge of standardizing all this stuff up-and-coming.

Did you read the part about "MT changing more in the next few years than it has in the last 100"

This is it, right at this site.

It is documentation that the doctor or nurse, or healthcare provider carries and enters at the time of service...

It even automatically codes for billing, etc.

Rather than 'free text' of a doctor dictating, it is standardized text where the person enters the info...

so much to it, and it is exciting, just wished we fit in somewhere...
copy & paste
long, drawn out process which will take tons of MW space, but it can be done.
You can just copy and paste.
Yes it will conform.  Also Word allows you to use your own spellcheck.  May be a bit cumbersome at first, but should work better than typing directly in Meditech.  It lags a lot.
copy and paste
The only way I know is to copy and paste.
copy and paste into your address bar. x

Can you do copy and paste rather than writing
x
Yes. Hit apply and either copy and paste, or
attach resume; however, some companies will not allow attachments.
A cover letter is always a good idea; just keep it short and to the point.

Happy Job Hunting.
How to copy & paste into FTP site?
I can't seem to figure it out?
The same way you copy/paste in all versions.
Ctrl + C to copy, Ctrl + V to paste.
COPY AND PASTE, IS THERE AN EASIER WAY?

The doctors I transcribe for are specialists so I do a full consultation but the doctors only want part of the consultation sent to the referring doctor so I copy and paste part of the dictation to a letter.  This very easy, but very time consuming.  Is there an easier way than to copy and paste for every letter. I am working in Word.

Copy & Paste in EditScript

Alice,
Do you need to upload the job first?
Can't you just go to the Search window and from the Search window use these functions again normally?

Marianne

you can copy and paste from word to meditech...
It is alt V instead of ctrl V. It is VERY slow doing it that way though.
Here is the code. Just copy and paste it into your shorthand. (sm)
{@KEY BkSp}-year-old

I use "yo" for that. Also have "mo" for month-old since I do pediatrics.

The @KEY specifies ShortHand to make that keystroke within the code. It basically tells Shorthand to do a backspace after you use that shortcut.

Another example is bold.

{@KEY Ctrl+B}{@NOSPACE}

My shortcut for bold is "bo" and then I just continue typing. That way I don't lose my rhythm.
Anyone who needs a laugh, copy and paste link inside. sm

Please provide links, not copy/paste from other sites. NM

I saved a copy of each report I typed to a folder on my PC and then used... SM
my line counting software changing the variables to gross lines.  I'm sorry that this subject offends you so much, but there is a difference between line definitions and all MTs should be aware of this.
Thanks! That macro worked like a charm using the copy/paste method.
.
Let me get this straight. It is a copyright violation punishable if you copy and paste an article
but it is not a copyright violation if you copy and paste the link to the article? What the h*ll is the big deal?
if can't copy/paste, highlight text, ctrl/x, go to shorthand, ctrl/V

That is "web site" in post above. Also, Auto Copy add-on for Firefox will automatically copy
Auto Copy add-on for Firefox AUTOMATICALLY copies what you select (highlight) on a web site to the clipboard.

Then you can paste it in a document.

It just saves the step of right clicking and then clicking on "copy" to put something on the clipboard. Just select it, and it is on the clipboard.

It only works only on web sites-- only copies stuff you select on web sites, i.e. not in other documents.
Print a copy of the form on your printer, fill it out, copy and send it to your computer via fax may
Just a guess. Or print it, fill it out and fax it to her.
Can you save the document as a Word document? nm

How do you copy your SH file to text - do you copy each dictionary separately? nm

At ease, soldier! This isn't a medical document. I repeat, this isn't a medical document. nm

I do not copy to text. I copy the spf sm
file to a disk and save the whole thing there, update it occasionally.
Cut and Paste in DQS
If you Edit, Select All then press the control button and the number 5 (not F5), it will change it back correctly.
First paste it to..
notepad, adjust it and then copy it from there to paste in reply to job ads.
I just have it saved...sm
in my ShortHand under degrees and it expands to the symbol.
Here's how I saved $$$$
I don't use tapes! The only special equipment I bought was a foot pedal. I have my own 800# and no phone bills!  I pay a small monthly fee and a per minute charge for the time my docs dictate. I keep more of my money than ever before.  Email me and I'll give you my resource.
you just saved me $$$$ thanks
you just saved me $$$$ thanks
Cut and paste in Radnet
That is exactly what I did. I used a macro program (Macro Express) to make the "Page Up" key highlight and cut the text from Word and the "Page Down" key paste it into RadNet. I couldn't see any other way of doing it, since I hate typing online with the delayed keystrokes, etc. I used Dragon Naturally Speaking until we upgraded to XP, then it wouldn't work anymore without upgrading, but Word/AutoCorrect saved the day.
We can't cut and paste from word

into that platform, they say it messes up the format in the original reports....so I don't do that, but I do copy the note from the Emdat platform into a word document to make sure I haven't missed anything because my Word program has a better spellchecker.

I did not know that you could use Shorthand in there...I really don't know what that is...I had Stedman's word Expander program (can't recall the name right now), but my company said it won't work in the Emdat program.....is it call shorthand...do you have the link?  I would appreciate any information.

Thanks!

always paste it in e-mail
I do not think I have ever sent it as an attachment, I always hit the apply now button and paste it in the box provided.
Thank you Anne!! You saved me. I think you are right!!!

You are welcome...Another1 Saved!!!

this saved my marriage
check out flylady.net - there is a lot of information there, so be patient and read through it...it will give you a different perspective on housework and make it easier on you, even if he does not pitch in. i had to learn to stop nagging my husband about the housework and just do it because i was grateful for my home and wanted to see the floor every now and again :-)one great thing is that, by biting my tongue about the housework, he slowly came around to helping because he was grateful that i was keeping the house nice for him.

also, getting rid of the clutter one step at a time will also help your husband's mental state - too much chaos is confusing for him. i have a mental illness - manic-depression - and having my house in order by following simple step-by-step routines that are written down so i don't have to think about them - just follow the list - has calmed me down considerably and left time for me to care for myself like i should. you will be helping both of you by slowly, step-by-step getting the house together. getting this will help your dear baby by leaving the floor and other areas clear for him to crawl around and do what babies do :-) without all the confusion of clutter.

flylady.net made me more loveable by cutting my tiredness and crankiness (because you clean in small steps that do not exhaust you). It also helped my mood, giving me the self-esteem that comes from tending and blessing my home (and, therefore, my husband) by keeping the clutter at a low liveable hum instead of a screaming mess.

one more thing - try to remember daily why you fell in love with your in the first place. trust me, he is still in there (i was). it was through the committment of my husband to stick by me and tell me all the time that he loved me and wanted to help me that i finally began to love myself again. sure, i still have my days, but they are fewer and farther between, and don't feel so heavy with his help around the house (minus my nagging) :-)

i also want to say that Jesus turned my changed my life - literally gave me a new life and turned me in a totally different direction than my life was taking - took me out of my self-destructive ways because He showed His love to me. i am praying for you. you are hurting right now, and so is your husband. i pray that your hearts will be healed and your love will come back. remember that you created a covenant before God and your families to stick it out through sickness and health and your husband made a covenant to stick it out through messy house or clean :-) blessings.
Good for you. lol Saved the day!

money saved
I so agree with this. I only have to gas my car up once a month---which is a huge savings by working at home.
control-Z has saved me
on occasions where i've hit a wrong key combination and screwed up a report royally -- but you cannot hit anything inbetween the screwup and the control-z....
I have this list saved
(as a 2-column document) and then every now and then will print out 10 pgs or so at random. Then, when I'm watching TV, will scan through them to see if anything jumps out at me as something I should add, or trigger an "aha!" Then I make notes and add them to my Expander using my system.
I guess the paste and cut really works SM

I too use Meditch and cut and paste from Word...sm

You can set up Meditch to use a Word interface, which is what i do, and then i cut and paste from my verision of Word to the Meditech version of Word.

I have a remote desktop that i connect to and so i basically have 2 desktops running at the same time..."mine" and "theirs."  It is quick and easy to switch back between the 2 and do a cut and paste.  If you cut and paste directly into the meditech screen it is very slow and painful.  I too have found that the spellchecker and also the expansion component in Meditech is totally useless.  I use Speedtype and it will work in the version of Meditech that I am using.

If you want to know how to set up the Word Interface in Meditech just send me a pm and I can send you the instructions.  It takes just a couple of minutes to do.

Can you cut and paste from Word to Meditech?
Can someone tell me if I can type a report in word and use the bold function, then cut and paste it into Meditech and still have the bold sections bolded (blue)? Also, will lines wrap around correctly when using the tab key.
Thanks for the reminder, will paste it on my desk! nm
..
(sorry - URL didn't "take"), so cut & paste!

Visit this website - it has SAVED me! - sm

I came across "FlyLady"... it is actually a website "family" that HELPS get this time and CHAOS under control.  Things DO get out of control, and it slowly kills us inside... depressing us.  This website helps you take control of your time, sets up 15 minutes a day ONLY to work on your "zones"... one week you are in the living room, then maybe the master bedroom, then the bathroom and another small room.... this disaster did NOT happen overnight, and you cannot expect yourself to get it straightened out overnight.  Things get out of hand, but this website family can truly help... I did it, and within ONE MONTH my household was finally manageable, and I could open my door to anyone who came to visit... my friend and her husband came to visit me after a month of FlyLady work, and her husband just said "It just feels home-y to me.  What did you do?"  A MAN said that, and he didn't know what I was doing.  It is very cool, and encouraging, and strengthening!!!  There are e-mails sent several times a day for reminders to hop up and do a 5-minute "hot spot" rescue (hot spot being a spot in the house where it seems to get out of control).... take an hour, cruise the website, it is SO much fun... and DON'T FORGET TO SHINE YOUR KITCHEN SINK!!!  IT WILL MAKE YOU SMILE!!!

See an accountant. I'm sure you saved your old income tax

Find the template where they are saved.
Usually, this is the normal template, in which case you're looking for normal.dot. Save that one to the flash or floppy.

If you read the Word help file in Word, you will get detailed, step-by-step instructions. I have found their instructions to be VERY helpful as I am a tactile learner.
I have older versions saved.

If this poster (or anyone else) needs an earlier version, I have setup files for both 4.15 and 4.02 available. Just shoot off an email.

A lesson I learned a long time ago--always have a backup plan.Whenever I download a new program and after setting it up on my computer, I save the original set-up file in a folder called, amazingly enough, Downloads. Then, when a newer version is released, I also save it (usually with the version number as part of the name) in the same folder. That way, if anything goes wrong with the update, I have the old setup files to fall back on.

How do I print what I have saved in PC Shorthand?
