and don't take spare the rod to mean

if you don't spank your child they will be spoiled.   My kids are pretty good kids and they've never been spanked, doesn't mean they haven't been disciplined in other ways.

can you spare the pay?

No experienced MT wants to work for 7.5 cents a line.

Spare me.
Instead of being so unsupportive of the learning process of new MTs, why not just "be quiet" since you obviously have no interest in actually teaching them anything.

Furthermore, I can give a hundred similar examples this kind of intellectual laziness.

Goodbye! Strength be with you. I hope you find the strength to help mold a hire-able MT soon.
My 2 cents (that's all I can spare)

If the house is $200 more monthly than you wanted to spend, that tells you that the purchase is not something you are totally comfortable with.  Why don't you consider finding a home that you like equally as well that may not be quite as new that is a little less expensive.  If you are deadset on this particular house- you mentioned a roommate, your brother.  Do you really want your brother living with you and your three kids.  What happens when he wants to bring over female company?  What happens if this female is someone you don't particularly care for?  How old is your brother? Is it possible he may decide to leave in a year or two to get married or just to have his own space?

As far as you remaining in your current situation because you can't leave- this is nonsense and you know it (not being harsh).  I am a firm believer that everyone should be as happy as they can be in their home life.  You should be able to be happy at home if you're not happy anywhere else.  I guess that's why I live alone.  I'd rather be lonely and bored sometimes than be miserable and unhappy.  I will not tolerate anyone else's nonsense.  If I were you, I'd consider purchasing a home, but I'd purchase on that is within my financial limits.  You can only depend on yourself as far as finances go.  Your brother could change his mind at anytime.

Also, when you do move - don't get weak and let this person later move in with you.  I understand that he is the father of two of your children - but don't waste your time.  I know this is cliche' but life really is too short.  I wish you the best and hope that you make the decision that is right for you and your children.

I have a spare shoulder!

Husband had health problems, we had 2 businesses, and then 9/11 hit and both businesses had NO income but we had lots of overhead!  Ended up having to close businesses, declare bankruptcy, sell off almost everything, but managed to keep the house and an old vehicle with 200,000+ miles.  Still paying the IRS.  Believe it or not, it eventually gets better, although at one time I was hoping the IRS would just put us in jail for the taxes we couldn't pay so that at least we could have regular meals!

spare the rod and spoil the child.
Its not the school's place in my opinion, but i do believe in discipline, done in love. Our creator thought it worthy of mention, so it must not be too wrong.
Does your dad have a spine? He can't spare a hour in the car to take you
I would ask him personally (bypass stepmommy)....and if you really want to see him, then take taxi from the station to their house. Don't let her control when you see your family.
This is such a controversial subject...spare us. (nm)

Yes, I keep a spare of things, footpedal, computer (have my old one and
so I have 2 computer backups, and spare footpedal. Use the spare and laptop for travel when necessary. I also recently bought a battery backup for my main computer for power outages/flickers, etc. Lot my work 1 too many times and got sick of it! Best investment I have made this year.
funny thing...this is my spare I've never used. sm
I just pulled it off the shelf to let a friend borrow it. I figured it may just be dusty...?
