A gal that used to IC for me and then I actually helped her get her own account, my business name got the account and then it was not enough volume and too far away (by her house) and so I gave it to her -- knew that this would happen but was willing to help her out as she was a friend and and an OK IC.  Anyway, she called me last week stating that her husband had been laid off and if I had any of the old psychiatrist that she used to do she would apprecite any and all I could give her.  So I named two times that she could meet me to pick up the tapes -- could not meet either one.  So she lives by my nephew and I had met him to pick up one of his boys to come and spend time with Aunt Patti and sent the tape home with him.  Now this doc gives us 48 to 72 hours to get these tapes back.  (They are due Weds and he is giving her the tape  on Sunday early afternoon) So he drops it off, she does not answer the door and he leaves it behind the screen.    She E-mails me at 11:00  on Sunday night saying she did not get the tape, and she was not going to work Christmas eve day, Christmas or the day after Christmas.  I did not get the E-mail until Monday morning.  So I call around and find out that he did deliver it, etc.  She calls me back and says, "he put it high up behind the screen door and you put it down low and so I did not see it right away."  But she says that she now cannot get it done because of the holidays -- yet her husband is laid off and they need money -- so needless to say I will not send work her way anymore.  And I do run into this all the time.  I do not make their schedules, yes there is a deadline and all I want is to know AHEAD of time that you won't meet it.  But that is why over the past two years I have gone from 4 IC's to 1 part-time IC and I am working a little harder but keeping the majority of the money.  In fact, gotta get to work now.   The time it takes me to deliver tapes, proof and deliver back, I can do the work myself.  I know that there are good ones out there but hard to find in Oregon.
