If you decide to go ahead and work two jobs, be sure you can keep up with the commitment.  Two thousand lines a day is nothing to sneeze at.

Has there ever been any problem with work shortage at either place?   Does either company rely on you frequently when work is way  too plentiful or out of turnaround?

Do/will you have other commitments outside work that may affect  a heavier work schedule?

Have you been doing this long enough that distractions won't affect your production?  (my guess on this question is a yes since you have already been working both jobs)

Does the company you work for as an IC offer employee status, and if so, is it worth considering dumping the "doormat" job?

I have worked off and on over the years for two companies, but it's better for me to just have one job. Makes for a nice income but definitely affected my sleep and family life.   It's stressful.

Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.
