Just put it in a mesh bag, (I use for stockings), wash and dry. It will be fine.

Anybody crochet out there? sm
I am crocheting a hooded baby jacket.  The directions say to attach front pieces to back at shoulder seams but do not say how to do that.  the pieces are pink, trimmed in 2 rows of single crochet with 2 strands of a thinner contrasting yarn.  do I put the two pieces together (wrong sides together) and do an overcast whipstitch in the 2 strands of thinner yarn (or maybe just one)?  I have tried to get in touch with the magazine to ask and have received no reply.  TIA!

You can either sew on with a whipstitch or a crochet slip stitch. For sewing the hood to the body of the garment, I suggest using whatever yarn (same weight and number of strands) that you are using in the body of the garment.
anyone crochet? have a question.

i have been given a lot of varied yarn that i'd like to be able to use, but was stored less than ideally.  Is there any way to wash/clean it before using it?  I'm sure if i made something, then i could wash it, but i'd rather it be clean before i drape it all over my lap and furniture...thanks for any suggestions.

I just crochet them together instead of sewing. It's quicker. -nm

Try knitting or crochet, something to keep your hands busy, or get

fat-free/sugar-free hard candies to suck on.  The walking is a great idea and I know it is hard to get started.  Try to find a friend or neighbor you can walk with the neighborhood with after the kids have left for school or at night after dinner.   Once you start losing weight, you get some fresh air, and are just more relaxed you'll want to walk and it won't be a chore.  / / / congrats on stopping smoking.
