The only thing he was contributing it sounds like he is trying to take away or at the very least make you worry whether or not that money will be there. Plus he is an extra expense. If he will not contribute and creates financial problems, what good is he? Cut him loose and let his mommy put up with his crap. She'll earn every penny of his check.
