getting out

I am also getting out of this profession. I have only been in it for 4 years and it is crazy.  I work for local Docs and make 10-12 cents a line, IC status, but have lost over 5 Docs due to outsourcing to India.  I have 12 years doing billing and I am going back to school in January, so I can sit for the CPC national exam and get my coding and do that.  I wanted to work from home, but still stay in the medical field, so I chose transcription, but it is a rat race.  I tried to go with the Nationals, but all you do is take test after test and then you are offered 6-8 cents a line with pitiful benefits and a line count quota that is just unreasonable.  I am glad I found out before I spent too much time and energy in this profession.
