being in your name because whatever he does will come back on you so if he crashes and hurts someone, they can come after you.  my x took all the keys so I had another set made and they didn't work so I reported it stolen and let the cops get it from him. (the car was only in my name)  plus it adds to your paper trail that you're going to need to keep yourself protected.

don't you feel better all ready!

The Good Humor ice cream truck! They still
sell some of the products in the store, but it is nowhere near as good.  The vanilla ice cream bars covered with toasted almonds!  The half and half popsicles with flavors like rasberry and lime that were SO fruity!  The Good Humor man in his white outfit!  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  It was great!
good luck to you!! Do something about that truck..you are responsible for any damages unless you
it taken without permission (different than stolen).
The good ice cream on the ice cream truck sm
that used to go by my house. We would run out with nickels and buy cones. And yes, I do remember Mickey Mouse ice cream bars. Yum.
definite dearth of good TV on Sunday. Hafta watch weather, sports

LOVE ER!!! I watch the re-runs every day, and watch the new ones on Thursday night!!

Truck driving
My friend and her husband drove as a "team" before he passed away.  She said it isn't as easy as it looks-- especially if you are a woman.  She said she had to back the trailers into the loading docks and all the "macho men" would just stand there and stare at her-- apparently they are too "manly" to have their jobs taken by women.  Anyway, she said the driving part was fun, but the company monitors you every second via some kind of tracking device and it isn't like I thought-- that you could stop in various parts of the country, etc.  There is a lot of technical stuff you have to know about the truck, maintenance, etc., as well.  She said she wouldn't do it again.
truck type
Don't have direct experience but my husband trucks and am familiar with the concepts. This is an intriguing scenario so hope you don't mind if I speculate a bit.

A few questions for you. By partnership, do you mean you intend to drive, as in split equal driving hours with him? What kinds of distances are involved...state/regional or interstate? You talking lap top type on internet based platform or what (i.e., method of report transmission)?

Certainly, RV is not the same as OTR. I think your main issue would be internet access while in motion. You want to type PT or drive PT or what?
The ice cream truck
The Mister Softee ice cream truck came every evening. You could hear his bell dinging wayyyy before he got to our street. On special occasions (i.e., daddy's payday) we were allowed to go a sundae or milkshake or rootbeer float. I read in the paper just the other day that the man who started Mister Softee recently died.
We saw an ice cream truck the other day (sm)
and my daughter was so excited. But I told her I doubt it if it would come up where we live because there is too much of a spread between houses. We saw it going through a housing development. Which makes sense, but was a disappointment for my daughter (and me!!!!). I remember playing outside and hearing the music way in the distance. I would run to get dimes from my Mom or Dad. That is a VERY pleasant memory. Thanks to OP for starting this topic.
We have an ice cream truck come through
our neighborhood every day. They have all the good stuff from the good ol' days!
Did you just fall off the turnip truck?
Of course it's a scam. Grow up.
Leased a truck for four years. At the
end of that time, purchased the truck because we had put so many miles on it, and they financed for another FIVE years to keep the payments about the same. Won't try that again!!!!!!!!!!!!
I call it Mack Truck Flu.
Feels like  you've been run over with a Mack truck! Glad U are feeling almost within normal limits.
Sorry but truck driving is going south also
Also had hubby as truck driver, as well as done team driving --the rates there are going down as many are coming over the borders and able to drive for less.  So that profession has dropped 50% as well or at least held its own over the past ten years which is not a progression at all.  Even owner-operators are seeing a decline.  So it is hitting everywhere.
Back the turnip truck up!
You are working full-time with demands of 1,200 lines a day and only making $16,000.00 a year.  You'd better find another job.  What part of the Earth do you live?  My goodness, clerks make more than that.  You may want to try becoming a file clerk as you'd probably make more and it certainly would be less stressful!  Take care!
My husband used to drive a truck and

back in 1970s, he made $1 a mile and above. He got out when the rates went down, when the government starting forcing truckers to drive only so many miles a day, and when the companies wanted you to drive over and above the so-called allowable mileage and if you got caught, YOU paid, not the company. Then there was the cross-country in 3 days deal....then, 'Hm-m-m, he could do it in 3 days, let's push a little harder to see if he can cut his time down more."

Bet you're hubby never makes $1 a mile or above now, especially with the high fuel costs and maintenance of the truck unless he is Haz-Mat or in a specialized field.

Oh, BTW, they are bringing back the railroads because "it's too expensive to truck the goods anymore."  It's the old "dange" if you do, and "dange" if you don't type of deal.

Oh, wait! Could this be just like transcription?

Yeah, must have fallen off the turnip truck.

After paying on my truck and house for a year I can
refinance and get an interest rate that is close to someone who has never filed bankruptcy before.  So, the high interest rate won't be there forever and at least I will have assets rather than renting or not having a car at all.  So, bankruptcy in my case was the best option.
I'd think it would be long-haul truck driver or
long haul truck driver, depending on account specs and whether or not they use hyphens.
Congrats and while you are at it, report your truck stolen by him.
nm
I have the truck! Forgot that important tidbit!
The police asked him to relinquish it. Ta Da !!!
Camaros..three 1994, 1998, and 1999 and a truck,
Chevy truck 2005
My hubby drives a long distance truck
thank goodness! He says the trucking business in dire need of truckers. Bet we don’t see folks punching those in.
It's a bus, not a truck load of nuclear waste. It's a blue collar job,
s
Used to own a Suburban, loved that truck. Have ridden in Ford trucks and SUVs

The Helms Bakery Truck! It sold candy & Pixie-Sticks, too! Yumm! (n/m)
:)
Our 16 year old son has been working for a year now to pay for his truck.
He's learning how to sand and do body work and how the engine and transmission go together. My parents didn't buy cars for my siblings and I either. I had a 20+ year old beater car until I could afford to move up to a a newer one.

I see all the nice new cars parked in the high school parking lot every day. It's nice that so many disrespectful punk kids get handed something nicer to drive than what all the teachers drive. Oh, well. Honestly, I think most of them borrow Mommy or Daddy's car or are the child of a doctor who can afford to hand them everything.

Hopefully, my kids will take better care of their cars because they bought and built them on their own. You're not going to grow up to be responsible if you don't work hard for something and expect Mommy and Daddy to bail you out all the time.

Oh, my Dad lectured us on even allowing our child to have a vehicle because Dad didn't have one until after he had worked his way through college, lettered on the football team, got straight As, lettered on the baseball team, yadda yadda. He either walked or hitched a ride. Yeah, well, times were different back then, Daddy-O. LOL At least my kid has the opportunity to work and earn his own car.
Will have to watch for it
half the time I don't pay attention
I don't watch TV much, but I certainly
would never watch anything about Bobby Brown.  I don't know what it is with these people who think anyone cares about their lives.  They are just trying to feed their already overinflated egos.
I don't get to watch TV any more.
Chained to my desk and overstressed.  I can't wait for summer to be over.  Plus, I got up sick this morning.
Me too! Watch all of them...
as well as the Discovery Health Channel, Animal Planet, and Style Network. The man who narrates on many of the A&E shows, Bill Kurtis, has such as soothing voice that I watch it at night when I need to fall asleep! I believe he is also the producer of some of the shows.
We don't watch TV much at all any more.
I hate reality shows, talk shows, soaps, crime shows, graphic content, and all that garbage.  Even the evening sitcoms are all rated TV14 with excessive amounts of sex, alternative lifestyles, gender bashing, adult situations and language.  The rest of the world can watch whatever trash they want to, but I'm not inviting it into my home in front of my children.  I'm not prejudiced either, but I don't agree with how rude sitcom families are.  The kids are all mouthy brats, the wife bashes the husband or vice versa.  It's not an accurate portrayal of true family life.
watch out
Read the Terms and Conditions of the different unlimited plans carefully.  Most will start monitoring you after 5000 minutes a month and some specifically forbid it for MT (even the small business plans).  The only thing I have found that doesn't have specific minute limitations is VoIP.
i DID WATCH IT

I was just curious how the nonskaters were going to do.  It was fun to watch.   I don't think it is going to be as big as dancing with the stars.  I don't watch that reality show anyway.

Does anyone watch Y&R? sm

For those who do, what do you think about Nick and Phyllis, and Victoria and Brad...

First off, didn't Jack (Phyllis' husband) used to be Nick's stepdad?

And didn't Brad (Victoria's fiance) used to be married or engaged to her mom?

I'm sorry, I know it's a soap and all, but that is just sick! I just started watching it again after about 4-5 years, and it's funny how little things have actually changed....

Or like looking at your watch and then having to look again
LOL
no, but I do watch CMT.....nm

watch what you say here
I put a similar criticism on this board recently and was told that if I had a complaint to take it to the admin, and not place it on board. Negitivity was cited. talk about censorship!
I did not watch. I won't watch again now that
are boring, IMO. Taylor is no AI, if you ask me, but he'll end up winning because for some odd reason, everyone likes this guy (who I heard is a real jerk in person from someone who actually met him). I've seen people at our local karaoke night who can sing better than he can and, as an added bonus, they don't look like they are having seizures while they sing.

I'm actually glad Chris got sent home and out from under the AI curse. Aside from Kelly Clarkson, the only one America got right, the winners don't seem to go on to do a whole lot of anything. I mean, come on! Ruben and Fantasia who? Bo's at the top of the charts, Clay went on to have a couple of hits, and where are the actual AI winners?
We should watch for any
call-in shows that have senators or congressmen on them. Wouldn't that be great to be able to ask them questions about why the American public is being ignored on the issue of offshoring. I'm not good on the fly, so I'd have to have so questions thought out and written down to sound at all intelligent, LOL. I would try to be very specific so they couldn't weasel out of the question.
I mean Watch out (not what)
nm
What you should watch for
are companies that want you to buy special software or equipment from them at significant expense so that they can train you with the promise that as soon as you are up to par, you will be hired. Odds are, you will never be "up to par" and will never be paid for your work while they get those reports done for free.

I had a job before that would watch you - sm
on via IM. I figured out how to have it on, but have it so they could not watch me (this was a few years ago, before you could set yourself up as invisible if you wanted to be). I hated the feeling that they were hovering over my shoulder during my set hours (yes I was an employee), and was used to being an IC. They were pretty good about it and did not hassle you but you had to be on IM while working so they could easily get in touch with you. I forgot a lot to turn it on....I eventually left them and now have an IC job that uses IM too, but I dont' have the same feeling with them, and I only use it really to talk to another MT who works on the same account as I do. The MTSO leaves me alone for the most part and that makes me happy.
Better Watch it!!!
My husband was in your same shoes 10 years ago... Very healthy, former marathon runner, never had insurance in his life...When we met, I said,"No way." His policy was free where he worked so he got it (BCBS)... When in May of 2003 he found a lump..turned out to be lymhoma... When I saw the first bill the hospital sent, I almost died...$125,000... But it was covered by BCBS.. all we paid was the out of pocket max for the year... Yes insurance is definitely worth it.....

But you sure have to watch your back.
l
Just watch reruns to get the fix. I already have
Also another similar kind of dark humor is on Nip/Tuck but I never seem to find it!
Well, I did watch it last night
I thought sure it was going to be Claire.   Can't imagine what they could do for the finale.  They've already done it all.  I hope they don't kill anyone else off.  Nate sure did leave a mess, like you say.  Makes you think about yourself and not wanting to leave such a mess when you go yourself.  Maybe I'm just being maudlin, huh?  Anyway can't wait for next week.  Really got kinda nervous, though watching Brenda and Billy.  Glad it was just a dream - whew!
No, ALL little boys don't do that. Watch your
Yes, I have a son.
WATCH YOUR BACK
Trust me, if you are getting paid 18 cents per line, you are sticking out like a sore thumb! That immediately puts you under a microscope at some point. I have been in business many years and if you are an exception to the rule, surely you are marked. THIS IS NOT A NEGATIVE POST. You must keep in mind the climate of the healthcare industry right now as a whole, your current CEO and CFO of the hospital - are they new, have they been there long? When does their contract come up for renewal? A change of hands in administration is all it takes to knock out any security you might feel. A change in the Medical Records department could change things quickly also. My advice, if I may? Be creative - work your 18 cents a line to keep the client interested. Offer perks, maybe some % discount for quick payment, or sosmething for loyalty, some type of support added to your services such as cumulative logs of info data per month for their review - not hard to do in Microsoft Office programs. I've been through many, many situations with hospitals. Good for you for getting that much per line. I'm always happy to hear of any one's success and my prayers that you continue as such for a long time.
Watch your mail........
Try some saline spray. A doc one time told me to try this. He did this 'cause he would get so sick with some of the perfume on mailings....those dept store inserts.
I don't usually watch TV, but Christmas

night I saw part of Grey's Anatomy and I loved it.    Can someone fill me in on what is or was going on with the black doctor and the Asian-looking doctor?

I used to watch ER years ago, then it was Chicago Hope.  ER now isn't what it used to be.  Of course before all these shows there was Emergency.
