What a compassionate person you are!
Living in Florida for the past 15 years I had never had to deal with a hurricane until last year when we were hit with two storms in a very close time frame in our area.  We were left without power each time for 7 days in 98 degree temperatures with a heat index in the 100s.  Luckily my home had minimal damage.   Seeing the devestation first hand on I-75 with light poles bent in half and peoples homes destroyed brought tears to my eyes...even not knowing who lived there.  I certainly wouldn't call anyone stuck in a path of a storm an idiot.  Did it ever occur to you that maybe they cannot afford to go elsewhere...that all they have is in that home?  Probably not.  Have you ever been through a storm at night with the wind causing debris to hit against your house...and praying that your home will stay intact and you and your loved ones will be safe.  As for the politicians coming to the hurricane victims aid perhaps you should think about caring for those who have less than yourself.  Donate some money to the poor victims instead of saying how prepared YOU are for YOUR snowstorms.   Self centered you are.
