I agree with you. I have been an MT for 20 years. When I first started transcribing I used to get paid top dollar for my expertise. Now it seems like we're basically slaves working in a sweatshop. It's ridiculous. I told a company I wouldn't accept any less than 8.5 cpl and I never heard back from them. Whatever...I think I'm going back to working in an office where I can actually get paid what I'm worth.
