Truthfully, imo, ES sucks!!!
I will admit that EditScript is kind of a neat program.

HOWEVER, whereas I used to make 9+ cpl, on the same account with ES I now make 8 cpl for transcription and 3.5 cpl for editing. Not only that, I no longer get paid for headers.

Also, the longer the hospital uses ES, the more editing and less transcribing I do. There are only so many reports being dictated, so no matter if I increase my speed and do more reports, the work WILL run out.

As a result, my pay has been effectively CUT IN HALF!

Thank you very much!!!

After 25+ years in this field, I'm ready to quit.
You asked, I answered truthfully. It's not my fault you don't believe it.

Realistically...sm
There ARE MTs who are lazy, don't show up and/or don't do their minimum lines. Some of them just don't seem to want to actually work. This is true of PEOPLE not just MTs.

A good manager knows that there are better ways to appeal to the work ethic of people in their charge than strong arming them. If you know what motivates people, you use it. Rarely do people respond to threats or bullying, badgering and MEAN managers.

I am sorry you were asked to be like that by someone who has no idea.
So, seriously, how would you *realistically*...
find a way to communicate any one particular idea/plan with the majority of MTs in this country? And I said ''realistically.''

It's not like a union organizer who can walk into a Wal-Mart and talk to ALL the employees there and then move on to the next one and the next one. How would one ''realistically'' get a hold of all the MTs at even one online company like MedQuist, for example?
Realistically, 16 blanks they were able to get and you could not?

Truthfully, if there are enough doctors, at least 3 months before you pick up on the doctor preferen
I would say at max a week on full QA, but don't expect to pick up everything with regards to expanders, dictators' personal preferences, etc. until at least 3 months. I have been on the same account now for almost a year, and I am still picking up new things and making new Expanders on a daily basis (of course, there are a ton of doctors, so I still get new ones every couple of weeks).

My attitude is that if you are on QA for a long time, it just means that you take a little longer to learn. You will get it eventually. Everyone learns at difference speeds.
Realistically with all work types
and various dictators, I average about 17.5 minutes per hour at the end of the day.  But the first few hours I'm still working with my coffee buzz, so it is a little more, maye 22-25.  I get a lot of 10-15 minute reports with a lot of dead air time, then will get a 2-minute report that is two pages long.  I could never go by minutes unless it is the same thing over and over again.
Since your work will have to be edited for a while, expect 5 to 6 cpl realistically.
if you took one of the better courses and did not get placed, then you should expect an increase in that line rate within WEEKS of hire, not MONTHS. All the MTSO should have to do is see that you are getting the job done then raise your line rate. Good luck!
