duh, sorry, didn't read post below mine. NM
d
I read yours after I had posted mine- funny about the - sm
sore throat thing. I wonder why we don't get sore throats anymore. I love it though, used to get them a lot though. No idea if I was intubated though, wonder if that is why my throat swelled up so much, who knows.
Two times mine didn't......but I think I saw a post
xx
wish I had read your post before I put mine sm
you worded it better than me. But the bottom line is the schools and the promises and the desperation of the MTs graduating.

I am sure that you, like myself, have warned plenty of MTs about these schools and the expectations to no avail.

I dont' think there is a feasible solution that MTs are going to comply with. I will just be glad to get out completely.
I didn't read your way-too-long post, but...
did you type all that out, or copy and paste from somewhere, cause if you typed it all out...you need to get a life and quick!
You didn't read the post very carefully.
.
Sorry. Didn't read your post correctly
I don't use the compile feature, but build my glossaries as I go along. Never cared for the results I got with compiling.
You obviously didn't read the post carefully. Try again in a more sober frame of mind.
It made sense to me.
she posted later that the ages were pretty evenly spread, which seemed to surprise her. She figured
Lots of moms with younger kids!
You posted under mine and I was
telling the poster exactly what the basic 4 are, if the ERs were included then it would be the 5. Believe you, I am tremendously thankful I did not have a transcription school education. I have over 35 years experience in this field so where do you get the it used to be lumped into medical secretary? Not where I come from, never was. I trained on the job in a hospital for over a year and I surely have enough years in but then maybe you were trained at one of those schools you are talking about and just were never taught any different. Years in this business, all hospitals where I have worked ERs had their own transcriptionists that did those.
mean it was posted before mine. You can stick
x
Yes, I read your post, and I just re-read it, and I've copied and pasted for you in case

you've forgotten your own words! Your post above is 100% different "flavor" to it, now all positive and cheery! Your first post was 100% doom and gloom every which way, including "raining on your parade", and "if you want to go forward"...God, sounds like she's talking about jumping into oncoming traffic! Here is your quote:

My first boss (the one who hired me as a new grad) gave me some words of wisdom that I haven't forgotten. She said that transcribing at home with small children NEVER works under any circumstance. Either the work will suffer or the parenting will suffer.

****

How can the word "NEVER" in caps be interpreted in any positive way? You took about 8 paragraphs to cover every aspect and completely dash this poor woman's dream.  I'm not blind, I'm not talking about day care at all, I'm talking about the total negativity of your original post! You know exactly what I'm talking about, cause you added some sugar to your second version! And that's much nicer than the first!

if you read what i posted...
I did not say they had to supply work or that I or anyone else could demand work at a particular time, I simply said the MTSO cannot dictate specific hours that any MT has to work if they want to consider that person an IC and not an employee. If they tell the MT when that person has to work, then that is not an IC relationship but an employer/employee relationship.
I didn't read the other posts but just read this
My daughter got pregnant at 17, said she wanted an abortion but BF didn't. I have a wonderful 2-1/2 yo grand daughter that I don't think I could live without...and now, guess what? I don't. I have custody of her. She was dropped off on my door, I got court ordered temporary custody and final custody hearing in a month.

I'm single with no family support. I had just taken a new MT job one month before this happened and they have been wonderful during my adjusting to being a mom again and I hope I can resume a normal schedule by next week.

I'm passing no moral judgments or giving moral advice. The situation is what it is. My prayers are with everyone involved.
Crockpots are pretty versatile. I make everything in mine.

Pot roast with vegetables, polska kielbasa with potatoes and cabbage, stew, chili, soups, fajita meat, french dip meat, BBQ pork.  You can go to Google and find websites with recipes if you want to try something new.  Just type in "crockpot recipes".

Also, have you considered 30-day meal planning?  The name is something like that.  It's where you cook meals ahead of time and freeze them.  You can freeze a whole dish of food or break it down into single serving plastic containers or freezer bags.  Lasagna, fajitas, spaghetti, enchiladas, stew, chili, rice bowls, stir fry, just about anything can be frozen.  Or if you don't like the texture of something after it's been frozen, freeze the rest of the recipe and add the other ingredients later.  I printed out a bunch of those recipes at one time, but I never got around to doing it.  I do have homemade spaghetti sauces and soups in the freezer.  Then all you do is microwave it.

Pretty much say the same thing
We needed to be there, still do
I posted below and read your note
Unbelievable but close to where I live this morning was having breakfast and heard 1 of the waitresses there saying - did you hear that girl that was just in here- trying to talk proper- and she said .....The other waitress told her she was saying it correctly - it is .....See, some saying talking PROPER when it is just good old English. I agreed with the crap we have to listen to- I had the word esophageal the other day- took me forever to figure out what the heck the person was trying to save- like working crossword puzzle only more irritating!
Umm, no the OP, but I read the article and it looks pretty legit.
I don't listen to country music, but even if I did, I'd probably boycott the guy.  A living thing shouldn't be tortured whether it's tame or wild.
Sorry, I posted this post under the wrong post
Sorry
I was just going to post pretty much - sm
The same thing. There are lots of healthy-looking bodies there! I never think, wow, what are they doing here? Instead, I think, wow, if they look like that from coming to WW, I can too! The on-line version is great if you can hold yourself accountable. Personally, I need the benefit of "weighing" in at the meetings to keep myself in check! Good luck!
Yes, she had post partum depression AND post partum psychosis. I posted on this a while back, and
it explained the two. The psychosis actually develops after the depression. Scary stuff.
Exactly! LOL! I found that post pretty comical myself..
x
Dunno.... the QA's who post on here sound pretty
Reading about how perfect they all say they are, how they never make a mistake, and all the rest of us are bastically illiterate, ou'd think they invented medical transcription, and possibly even the English language.
What did it say..for those of use who didn't get to read it.
xx
my, how you read into that - didn't you.
It was sarcasm. But believe me, I could have said something that would have slammed you into next week with your comments. But I did not because I would have been kicked off this board. It also would be quite unbecoming to do - you know, "knock someone when they don't know any better"

So if you read into my remark, then I'm sorry.
You obviously didn't read the
mind. So does it matter to you that, in fact, there are more white people on welfare than anyone else? I don't advocate welfare for life no questions asked, but geez, louise, this is America, the richest country in the world and we have children who go to bed hungry!!!! That doesn't bother you at ALL and you support policies that helps make this happen?! God help us.

Bad idea to post rates. Plus they are pretty high, and TAT

by saying 2-5 business days and charging so much extra for "stat" if it's done within 24 hours, you'll never compete with most services that offer standard 24 hour TAT.

The urology group may have an MT they've used for a long time and that's the rate she has always received and she's fine with it. Hard to say, but doubtful they are using a service if they are TRULY paying that low a rate. I agree they're probably trying to get a lowball offer. JMO, but not sure I'd want to take on the practice where my DH worked anyway. Puts him on the spot if you ever fall behind or whatever. Something to consider.

I didn't use the chickenpox shot for mine by choice.
For one thing, it's too expensive.  For another thing, they think it might only be good for 10 years because they haven't followed it long enough.  You can still get chickenpox despite the vaccine, and chickenpox are worse if you get them as an adult.  The medical community still doesn't know for sure the longterm effects of a lot of these vaccines they're pushing on the public.  There are potential side effects with every immunization, too.  Besides that, my husband is now being actively pursued to particpiate in government studies over vaccines that he received at work, which have now been proven to cause health problems that everyone is hush, hush, trying to cover up.
sorry, didn't read your response below! I tried, though!
nm
No, see? You didn't even read the posts. You came
into the middle of the conversation and started making things up. I'm not angry and bitter, so please stop spouting your nonsense. Read your own posts. As for the soda bottles, we were discussing washing them out to be reused to hold water when a hurricane comes. I'm done. I'm out of here. I'm not going to defend myself against someone who doesn't even understand the conversation and makes things up.
Didn't read, did you, Tinks?
The company repaid my testing fee (I'm a member, it cost me $195).

Plus I get about $6000 a year more by the CMT production bonus.

So, get off your garbage can. It IS profitable.

If you don't care for the AAMT, that's okay. However, they are the standard and their standard has given me $6000 a year more in salary just for proving I can pass their test.

Okay, Oscar, fire away!
Didn't read it online.........
Husband's tech department was contacted by McAfee about this. McAfee is a company they deal with a lot in his business, so they are kept up to date. FYI
Mine does the same thing - sm
I work in the BR and in order for him to sleep have a desk lamp which is up on top of my hutch, which has an adjustment arm which I can push up/pull down so the light is only on my desk, it also has 3 settings, so it is on low when he is in bed. I need light, he does not understand that and thinks the monitor should be enough light, but this is the compromise we worked out and it works for us. Lack of light causes eye strain, which in turn will give you a headache; so I would say it is better to have some light!
LOL, mine rather do the worksheets than read, but I insist.
x
Yeah, I kept all mine and my daughters will get to read them when
have a bunch of them, Judy Blume, I think is the author.
I just wondered why you felt it necessary to point out that the OP had posted the same post before.
It's the equivalent of rolling your eyes and saying you've heard this before when someone is telling you a story they've told before.  The polite thing to do is listen again.  Not tell them, you've told me this before.
didn't know it was just a bad thing to ask for help

I was justing asking for some advice. I have NOT had any complaints from my co-workers about a bad attitude, etc............... I enjoy my job, just having trouble doing it all-------any mother would know what I am talking about.

i didn't say any such thing
-- a bit over-sensitive are you? -- i SAID that criminals love them, and they do. I did not say everyone who has one is a criminal. talking about jumping to conclusions...
Didn't know about that. That's one thing sm
I haven't tried.
I didn't even KNOW there was such a thing as a -sm
real "Sit'n'Spin"... I was thinking of the more VULGAR version when I made the above post. Heh, heh...
Didn't read all the posts below about rubbing
alcohol, so forgive me if someone mentioned it, but there is also wintergreen alcohol!
I didn't realize that until I read the EULA
the other day after talking about this. I've never had 2 computers, so I had no idea. I took it off and bought a new one for the 2nd computer. Thanks for the info.
Sorry, I didn't read the question or the answers SM
well enough. An insomniac visit. It's a question worth asking in case someone has come up with some clever system for BPs.
You are the Sharon who posted above correct? The post that kyradmt responded to?

The post wasn't meant to be posted forever. Most visitors know by now.

To the service who posted a job ad on the Main board, the reason your post
was removed is because all job ads are to be posted on the Job Seeker's board. Any "well-deserving MT" knows to look at that forum for that "chance to work for an excellent company and make an excellent line rate". Feel free to post your ad there.

Thank you.
This pay cut thing just didn’t start with VR though
The pay for transcribing has steadily come down over the years. I know that for a fact. I was making almost $60,000 a year back in the 80s, that job outsourced, took another inhouse and that pay cut cost me $20,000 less a year, from there outsourced 1 more time and now working national but the thing with me is now I am only working because I want to work, not because as in past I had to work. It makes a difference and my pay is ok with me. If this pay cut had been years ago I would have had to take on probably 3 or 4 more jobs to exist on.
Yes, Jay certainly does read this board. I know because he threatened to sue me if I didn't remov

certain posts some months ago essentially about the same subject content as now.  If Jay truly owes previous employees and current employees clearly it would behoove him to do so as it certainly doesn't look very good when his indiscretions are plastered all over MT sites.

I read the book "Saving Keystrokes" but it still didn't help.
You can't make many shortcuts and remember them all if you don't get the same dictators saying the same thing day after day.

Oh, yeah. I had this guy about a month ago. What was that shortcut for his physical exam?
Mine is definitely Taylor. He does his own thing and if he doesn't win

he'll be regularly employed that's for sure.
