I QA other MTs' work. I call myself QA because that's what the company calls me - I don't know how accurate the title is because I had never even heard of QA before I started this job (my first and only so far).
I work for Global Info Services, which is as far as I can tell a relatively small company whose employees are all in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area. I agree that the pay is utterly dismal, but it is my first job - I sent out resumes for good 6 months and got nothing else. GIS was on a list of places to apply provided by my transcription instructor, and the only one that panned out.
I'd be fine with editing other MTs or VR or both. Do you have any suggestions for companies that hire QA/Editors at a livable pay rate?
