if you have no contract that would make you forfeit any vacation pay/sick pay etc. and they are jerking you around, and you have something already lined up, you owe them nothing. Look how many people have lost their jobs to good US companies outside transcription, union or not, with the fallout from Wall Street. Have the employers gone to bat for all their "good employees who have helped them make a profit over the years?" Just look at the unemployment numbers. Sickening. Put yourself on the top of your list and do what is right for you.
