variables why this could be occurring, but 5 minutes to download a 2 minute job is too long. Exttext software does not function well with slow internet service providers, works much better with a fast connection, cable to DSL, and even still if a lag or lull in the connection, it can set things off. It is good to keep you temp files cleaned up, but that is not usually a reason for lengthy downloads. Call support people who installed the software.
