tolerance to liquor

Actually, I rarely drink now. And when I do, I'll nurse one drink over a couple of hours. --- What cured me from drinking too much was the party I went to in the summer of 1991. I threw back twelve 8 oz glasses of punch-flavored moonshine over the course of about six hours. Ever drink moonshine? It's got quite a kick. I didn't mind my head in the toilet, but it was feeling like somebody had taken a baseball bat to my skull that sort of got the message across. Since then, I tend to shy away from liquor.

>>Apparently you have never worked in a hospital, because believe me, there is plenty of drinking going on there - including the doctors.

To my knowledge, there was never any drinking at any of the hospitals I work at, on Long Island. There were three or four of them. Don't remember.

>>>Don't flame me - I didn't say ALL of them - but I worked in hospitals for years and surgeons under the influence did their operations, radiologists read their x-rays, all under the influence. Then, there is the drug abuse - another story.

Define "under the influence." Some might feel a glass of wine puts you "under the influence." I certainly don't. Personally, I don't know how people can even drink that stuff (wine). Bleh!!!! What a horrible taste. --- My husband likes wine on occasion, and I wouldn't know if he had a glass of wine or not, unless I saw him drink it. There's no change in him. And believe, I would definitely see the difference, if there was one.

And as far as performing surgery after the consumption of liquor ... don't even COMPARE performing surgery to MT.

Drug abuse? Well, I can't comment on that, but I know for a fact that you should try to transcribe a medical report after smoking "that stuff." You'll end up with something really strange.

PA dictates patient drinks "a gallon" of liquor a day.
I hear people drinking a pint or 1/5 a day, but a GALLON.  The guy is only 45.
wrong....I've been there, believe me the stockpile of liquor is just as great as in the US
there are just no bars, and there are underground church services all over.  You learn to make your own wine.   Company I worked for had ministers and priests (called them teachers on their work permit), with full active services in a special house.  Believe me its nothing like you all think it is there.   Nothing.
My family's not into hard liquor. Beer on one side and wine on the other.
Ugh. I only "like" to drink alcohol maybe once a month.
