In tools, options, spelling and grammar - settings, select 2 for spaces after period - you still have to put the spaces here but will prompt you in spellcheck if not done.
you may not want to set auto cap after a period - what happens when you have p.o., b.i.d., etc.
I have auto format set up for the regular dictators I do using their regular headings and other verbiage - have to set them up in word without being on ETEXT when doing it
