a medical spellchecker, MSWord, and some sort of file transfer program. Also some sort of digital voice file program, such as Wavplayer. How you transfer files depends on the client. Some docs are terribly attracted to the handhelds - must remind them of pacifiers or sometin'. In that case you could use Olympus DS330 recorders and the Wavplayer. Some docs must call in by phone. In which case you will either have to set up some in-house call-in tape system or use a TASP. If you are using handhelds, you can either do a modem-to-modem transfer via PCAnywhere, or you could utilize an FTP, which Bytescribe does with DocShuttle. As you can see, this is why most people just wanna to stay home and have the service feed them the work...it's all a bunch of research and head-scratchin' stuff that you don't get paid for - unless you hit paydirt and get your own account.
