This is a contractor position for an transcriptionist who has experience with Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury. A busy office we have worked with for over 15 years is adding a NP who would like to dictate their notes. The other person on this account has been with me also for over 15 years. You will also train to back up the current transcriber on that physician. The two of you will regularly do a 1/2-1 day exchange of files to stay current on the others files to back each other up in case of illness. After training, depending on turnaround time required by the office, pay ranges from 10 to 11.5 cpl (after line adjustment credits for templates). During training, pay ranges from 8 to 9.5 cpl (after line adjustment credits for templates) - training length depends on quickly you are able to do the work independently. You would mostly pick the hours of the day you want to work, with the exception of if there are any files that need to be returned overnight - but you would be able to ask the other transcriber to cover for you if needed (but those are also the highest paying files). Note: The physician we currently work with is Ohio, USA, born but is a challenging dictator due to his fast rate of speech, slurring, and occasional stuttering and/or unusual pronounciations. Since you will also need to work on his files, we are looking for someone with US English as a first language. All work is returned in a .doc format. We also use ExpressScribe (to play files), Adobe (to see scanned visit info), Excel (for invoices), WinZip (to zip files), and DropBox. Also, please note that since this is a contractor position, work is variable (providers take vacation) and not guaranteed. Pay is twice a month (after work from 15th and last day of month is complete). Direct deposit is available.
