Med-Tech Resources
I have worked for this company for almost 2 years. No complaints; however, I am IC so really don't know what they would expect from full time.
Resources

Does anyone have a word Expander software or resources that will make productivity quicker that would not mind giving me if. I would appreciate so much because I have no money to purchase anything and I need so help. Thank you so much.

You should use the resources the school provides
If the school you attended has some kind of post graduation assistance you should use it. There are a lot of things that you may be overlooking in your search.
any resources for job search

Hello! I'm a new grad and have been on the job hunt for nearly a  month. Are there any resource that I could purchase to help find a place willing to hire a new grad?

Thanks

Get a copy of your BOS II guide for style, work with an expander, use your resources to the max. nm

Med-Tech
Does anybody know anything about Med-Tech?
Neither. You should look into being a rad or U/S tech, or something
else in the medical field. That is, if you want a job over the next 5 years.
Med-Tech
The only two I know of that sometimes hire "newbies" are Med-Tech Resources and ProType. I have worked for Med-Tech for almost 2 years now. Their pay depends on the report types that you do. I do believe they are hiring right now, though.
Med-Tech
I live here in Atlanta and I am about to graduate from school in March. After I finish my externship I was looking at working for Med-Tech resources in Marietta. I an wondering if anyone has any new information about the company that would help. I have seen a few post here about them but they were old. If you have any information about shifts, pay, and staff helpfulness I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Med-Tech website is
www.med-tech.net and that is the correct one for Northeast.
M-Tech or Andrews
I am about to apply for MT school and I am not sure which school to go to.  I have read that M-Tech and Andrews are the best.  Is this correct? If so, which one is the BEST?
Lisa/Tech Skills

Lisa,

Did you attend that in AZ? I almost did that but decided to go another way.

M-Tech vs. Career Step
Need advise/personal experiences to help in choosing between M-tech vs. Career Step.  Do you feel that the higher tuition M-tech charges is worth it??  Was it helpful to have a mentor?  Your response is greatly appreciated.
You can also do the tech school thing
You can also go to a technical college (if you happen to have the time).  Most offer a certificate program (which is not the same as being certified as a CMT), of course.  I think it costs a little less this way...at least for me.  I went a couple of years ago and both semesters cost me $3500.  Most also help you find the first job.  I did an internship for a clinic and was hired after I finished the program.  I worked in-house for one year and then at home the next.  My starting salary was per hour (which I personally don't recommend, but at the time I did not know better).  My starting yearly income was $22K gross (I think it was about $10-something per hour).  I am now an independent contractor being paid by the line and last year I made $45K.  Good luck to you...hope this helped in some way!
M-Tech wannabe...wish I could get the money together right now
I just finished 18 months training at a community college to become an MT and I am not marketable. The provided no books, no equipment, and only 3 months of actual transcription practice. It cost me 4 times as much as the M-Tech program and I walked away with nothing...now I'm back at square one. I've researched online schools and narrowed it down to M-Tech, but after reading the great posts about this school, I'm sold. I am not giving up becoming an MT.
I didn't go to Andrews or M-tech
So no, you do NOT need experience in order to get a job.
Just Ordered M-Tech's program
I just ordered M-Tech's program.  What do I expect!  I don't know if I am scared or exicited!
As Mr. Tech Support so accurately said...
'this profession is not at all about 'fast typing', it is about 'knowledge.'

It does not matter if you type fast or slow, if you don't know what you should type.
Didn't she sell it, or just your company to an offshore company. The woman

has a screw loose.

No, the woman who owns this company can't transcribe herself, much less run a company.

Any company that charges anything to work is not a reputable company. However,
if a company offers a job and requires that you have a certain pedal and offers to provide it and then take it out of say your first paycheck or couple of paychecks, then that is acceptable.

My belief is that companies that charge you for software or anything else is trying to make money off of you.

While $11.95 isn't much, figure that amount times 10 or 20 or 100 and what do you come up with? Smells like a scam to me.
company was sold so they have no company to hire you after graduation!
They are not a reputable school and I went there so I should know. Even when they did have Trans. Relief Services they never answered my email about employment upon graduation.
Agree with an outside school, but I went to a business & tech school. Great experience, better

Considering M-Tech-tier 1 or tier 2
Anyone with knowledge on this subject please respond.  I have no medical background and do not have a MT job secured.  Is tier 1 a must?
What company?
Hello, I recently read your comment and was wondering what company that was that hired you as a newbie? I'm just starting out and I need to work at home to be with my son. Would you mind networking with me! Nice to meet you..e-mail me at kennyandjenny@hotmail.com
thanks! Sincerely, Jennifer Hokanson
Company Name
Can you say what company you are working for?
company
this company is advertising on the job board - Dictate4Me
not sure if this is the same company, but...

A friend of mine who was recently looking for a job had been talking to a lady from New England Transcription (not sure if this is the same company??) and had been given the total run around from them.

First the lady said that they paid 9 cents a line to start, then when my friend got the contract (which she had to call the lady for 5 or 6 times), it said 5 cents a line.  Then she never heard from the lady who hired her until the day before she was supposed to begin the job.  Then, the day she was supposed to start, she was told there was no work, and she should call back in a few weeks.

Needless to say, she didn't take this job, but it wasted about 3 weeks (from the time she accepted the position until they told her it was no longer available due to lack of work).

If this is the same company, maybe ask for the contract up front and review it carefully.  Ask what the work load is like and all that good stuff.  Hopefully it's not the same place.

Company
May I ask which company you are working for?
Take the job if you like the company
I would take the job if the company seems professional. The pay rate seems reasonable for someone coming out of school. If the people you are working for are helpful, you will gain tremendous experience. If they will help you with further training, then you are off to a good start. Taking a job with a higher rate and being in over your head might not be the best path. Just my opinion.
What company is it?
.
If you like the company then I would
You can load it and it will have (I think) 2 operating systems but XP should work fine. Not a lot of places are compatible with Vista yet that I know of.
Why do you think that the company you
work for should bend over backwards to give you the account you want? I am sure other MTs are on that account, so would it be fair to take someone off just because you want it???? If you want to find another job fine, but don't think that just because you want certain accounts you will get them. We all take the bad with the good.

About the company
Yes i surely can. It is a SCAM company, STAY AWAY from it if you don't want to lose your money and time.
What is the company name
What is the company name?
I have yet to see a company that uses MAC. The
programs used are not compatible.
bad company
If they are the company that asks you to give them $400 (or something like that) then stay away. Any company that makes you pay for their "software and training" is crap. There are too many better companies out there that don't require you to pay to work for them. Would you go to any other job and pay to work for a company? It's a little backwards.
If it's a reputable company, yes. SM
Some companies do charge a small lease or rental fee.
company advice

Just wanted to know if anybody has ever worked for Breitner Transcription and what they are like?

Thanks!

I think that depends on the company

I think some companies but a time frame on when  you can test again if you do not do well the first time.  Good luck

depends upon the company

The company I'm an IC with is located in CA but I live in TN. Since I've had a problem with my sleep for *years,* it was an ideal situation in terms of what accounts to put me on. I'm in charge of H&Ps on three specific accounts. They need the reports by 6 a.m. their time, which is 8 a.m. my time. No problem. It's rare for me to sleep until 4:45 a.m. Usually, I'll get up around 2:30 to 3 p.m. I just go back to sleep for a few hours when the morning rush is done. My work day ends by 4 p.m. my time, which is 2 p.m. their time.

Position at company
I am a newbie but would be interested in the company that is hiring. Could you how to reach them?
Sounds like a company I know in
Alabama near 280.  If it is and you want to talk, send me an email.  I worked there before.
This is problematic. You may get a company that
specializes in ER notes to test you. You should also look for ads featuring in clinic work. There is no way that you can apply for acute care because you don't any OP experience and it doesn't appear that you have much other acute care. Good luck.
If they are a reputable company and have really
hired you, then yes, they will require this in order to employ you. How else can they avoid hiring illegals or escaped felons, etc.
Good company?
I am a well trained and experienced professional MT and have been for 13 years now.  I have been looking at several of the work-at-home companies out there.  Does anyone out there work for ImageStat Corporation and are they a good company to work for?
What is this wonderful company
So what is the name of this company you started working at home from in 2 days after grad?  What's their website.  Help out the people looking please
Wow! I could be working for the same company!
I felt the exact same as you do!! After six months I am finally on paid status, but the pay is not much. Good luck! Let me know if you find anything better!
MT company supervisors

I have just started with a large MT company and I barely hear from my supervisor.  I am very self-reliant, but had some basic questions for him.  He was offline the first day (he had never contacted me at that point) and when I finally caught him on the phone he said he would send me an e-mail with answers.  That was two days ago.

I was just curious if this was typical for the industry?

Ms. Newbie

If you look at company requirements
they will not accept your nursing as MT experience. It is not the same job.

Please go to the best MT program you can afford, first.

You're in a tough gig -- starting MT work, new mom with baby at home ...good luck but you can do it with a good education behind you in MT.

Depends on the company
I have a part time that requires 2500 per week part time and two that have no requirement. I generally do 2000+ lines per day with them all combined.
