Offshore MT

Before I would worry about that, I would suggest you get some good solid MT training.  I was a nurse too (still am actually) and I thought this would be almost second nature to easily slide into as a second career.  But, I did not find it that way.  The MT world has many similarities, but the differences and actual transcription requirments pretty much demand training.  I would suggest you pick the very best school you can afford.

Good luck to you.

Offshore MTs
I have done editing for offshore MTs and they just don't understand some of our phrases. I can't give an exact example off of the top of my head, but typically they know their stuff it's just some English phrases that throw them off. I hope this helps!!
Supposedly they offshore, but they don't
nm
not new MTs but competition for the same jobs from offshore, EMR and VR
its called market supply and demand. There are only so many MT jobs, and they are getting replaced as it is by other people from other nations and computer technology. So as a new MT, you would be at a distinct disadvantage.
Coding is most certainly being outsourced offshore. Who
told you that coding isn't being sent out of the country?
offshore means another country

Big discussion on the Company Board. They outsource offshore

:

I wouldn't work for a company that outsourcing offshore and then lies about it.
absolute definitive proof of this.  Be wary.
Not supposedly, OSI DOES outsource offshore and they admitted it after lying to the Admin about it.

Didn't she sell it, or just your company to an offshore company. The woman

has a screw loose.
