Annoyed by all the Spelling Police here...
Do you not have lives? Honestly, I get a bonus for my work being 100% QA correct for going on 6 months now without one single error. When I am here, however, or in casual email to friends, I don't sweat over every capital letter, every spelling, every little typo. Why should I? You Spelling Police aren't paying me!

I just get so sick of seeing people with no lives correcting everyone for what are obviously typos or just careless spelling errors or the wrong word here or there.

If you want to correct people, get a job in QA. But give it up. This is a message forum, and unless you're paying me 8.5 cents a line, don't complain if I make a mistake!

(I have yet to be corrected on this board, but every time I see someone making some snooty little comment, it just makes me want to suggest to them some hobbies. Macrame. Scrapbooking. Something!)
I know there is supposed to be no spelling police,
but when you are giving the must have excellent "grammer" talk, you should at least spell grammar correctly.
You're right, there are no spelling police allowed on this board. sm
So it constantly amazes me that a few of you spend your time running around breaking the rules "correcting" those of us who make honest mistakes. That's what a spellchecker is for. Get a life!
Police Transcription

I did a search and found this company:

http://www.sten-tel.com/legal.asp

They offer all types of transcription

police transcription
I don't know much about police transcription other than it's very, very hard to get into, I think mainly because there aren't that many cities that use it and so many people want to type it.
How much do you have left?
If you do not have much left, it would probably be best to go ahead and finish up your school. Also, you might want to find out if they are going to make you finish paying the tuition if you don't, that could be a big factor in your decision. Other than that, I am still pretty new, so I don't know what to say about having it on your resume.
I use the right leg one day and the left the next...
That seems to help some.  Also, stretching occaisonally throughout the day and take a multivitamin and Omega-3.
Did you not have anything left to learn when you finished

school and actually started working in the real world?  It is a learning process, day in and day out, just as nursing is.  You can go to the best school in the world, have the most highly trained instructors, finish with flying colors, take the RMT, CMT or whatever, and still not be a good transcriptionist.  Same thing goes with nursing.  You can go to school and then pass state boards and still be a lousy nurse.  A lot of what we all do is in the practical application day to day.  I don't recall ever saying she shouldn't go to school.  I just said it was possible to go from nursing to MT without formal training.

are there no more in-house hospital jobs left?
it seems to me that way too many of talented MT's are settling for these low-paying companies. Is that all that's left out there for work?
doesn't anybody work in a hospital anymore?
Plus there is the "monitor" board to report things, look at left - nm

Most services are looking more for proper spelling, grammar, and
sentence structure than they are layout.  I don't give a hoot what the layout looks like because I have my own way of doing things that I train the MT on how to do upon hire.
Not true, I made a 95 once. But grammar and spelling
are key issues as stated below.
There is no need to correct grammar or spelling mistakes on this board. (NM)
Goldbird
