In Reply to: looking into a typing CD to increase speed before school... - Anne

What I have heard is that as long as you type at least 45wpm, your speed is good and will definitely increase with all of the work you will be doing in your class.  But, given that you have some time, I don't think it would hurt at all to work on your typing.  Using a program that guides you will help because in my experience (it wasn't mavis beacon - some other company) the program focuses on accuracy overall, but also gives you some speed building exercises.

You might want to do a review of grammar if you have time.  I am sure the course you take will spend a good deal of time on it, but it might help to have a head start.

For the most part though, you probably don't really need to do much if anything and be careful not to burn yourself out before you even begin.

Good luck!
