Go to http://www.horusdevelopment.com/ and try their program.
It is free to try, and less than $20 to buy. You can make lists of anything, it automatically alphabetizes them for you. Sure beats searching a handwritten list.
same story with me
I am so dissapointed with at home professions. I scored good in their course but getting job only I know how much I lossed. If you can help me with anything please answer me asap.

Another success story

I graduated from CS in 2005 and was hired by a national company right away.  That was 3 years ago.  I tested for my CMT as soon as I reached my 2 year anniversary.  I have had a great experience with working and I owe it to my training through Career Step.  I think you will be fine!

Good luck to you with your studies!!!

Sorry about that.
Reminds me of a story; and I have a question
A story I read many years ago in Readers' Digest was about a guy who tried to get hired to operate heavy equipment even though he had no experience. He lied, got a job and was fired the first day because it was obvious he didn't know anything. So he went to a similar company, stayed a few hours longer and was fired for the same reason. Third hire, he had enough experience from the first 2 that he kept on for decades.

So, while not commenting on the merits of how you went about it, I do have a question: Did they figure out after you were hired you had no experience? Do you still work for them?
Career Step Success Story

Hello. Well, I graduated from Career Step in December and now have a job that I love. I thought the course was great. I still go to the Graduates Forum on Career Step everyday, and people are getting jobs everyday, even with all the negative chat that you hear on MTStars and MTChat. I know that the price was right for me and that I had a job a month after graduation. I know there was a slow hiring period in the last few months b/c of holiday, New Year, and whatnot. I don't know what negative talk has gone on about the Career Step program. I try to stay away from all the negative comments on the board - they are just depressing - lol. I hope whatever you choose works out for you. The only thing that scared me was all the EMR talk right when I graduated. It still scares me, because I love this job. But, it is pretty much out of my hands. Right now I am a happy working MT.

Good Luck :)

How is that possible? It says specifically on their web page - sm
That they only place transcriptionists who are experienced and have at least 2 years of experience? Do they waive that sometimes?
There's a thread down the page about these.

How many words=Typed Page.....
Does anyone know the standard number of typed words that equals one typed page?  I know this varies, but anyone have an idea?
I also think $3.00 a page sounds fair. sm
Ask for templates.  Most of the formatting is probably done for you.  My thing would be though even if say the last page is only half, then still charge the $3.00 for that page as well.  JMO.
Or use their Apply Now button from their ad on page 3 of Job Seekers,
