whatever the company asks, especially if they have a separate department that takes care of employment/recruiting. if you go in just to give it to them, it might get misplaced. you might even be disappointed if you go in and all they say is, "ok thank you. I'll give it to the recruiter". it would be a waste for me.
also, it reflects on how well you following instructions. some count these as first impressions. if they say fax, then fax. if they say email, then email. if they say apply in person, you go. that would be when first visual impressions would come in. good luck
