why MT

Not what I planned to do all my life but it's worked out for me. Right now I am confined mostly to home and could not do another job. Even with a lot of problems in the company I work for/VR/offshoring  I still made 35K last year (I have a second job as well so I earned more).  Lots more than I would get from going on disability. I do have a bachelor's degree I could use as a springboard to do something else... would not really recommend MT to people starting out anymore, unless things change. It's not for everyone anyway - to be good you need a knack and an interest in medical language.. a curious kind of job which does not require a degree, but does require brains (far more than most people think).
