Yes, the KJV of the Bible has been translated from Hebrew.  We have the capability of comparing words from the KJV Bible to the original words, therefore knowing the meaning.  You have to in order to understand the Bible the way it was supposed to be understood.  On comparison, many times I have been surprised that a word might mean something totally different than what I thought it may mean.  There are many resources online and lots of books that help with this translation.  My father has many as he is a preacher.  I have looked things up many times.  God doesn't expect us to be stupid but to educate ourselves.
