Not in this country! It means bigger government, more
You want free thinking, you must mean "independent", as if independent thinker, thinking for yourself, not told how to think!

I just heard billions of dollars in bigger government...

Yep. That sliding board keeps getting bigger and bigger

After watching the mayor of Phila. go to Washington today to beg for a few BILLION to bail that cityout, what's next?

Her lies keep getting bigger and bigger
Everytime she speaks all I can hear playing in the mind is a song from the 1970s by Three Dog Night called "Liar". She should be put on the spot and made to face her lies. This baloney about her remembering it differently is just a bunch of hooey!
Would God allow a dictator? sm
Shelly, IF Obama IS the antichrist, then yes, God would allow him to come to power because this would fulfill the prophecies in Revelation. I'm not saying that, should Obama be elected, that it would be a definite sign that he is the antichrist, just that he could be.
Bush a dictator?
Where did you study history?

McCain inside - stating his aspirations: I have always aspired to be a dictator.

You Bushies are struggling to find a new daddy.  Senator Hague (sp?) was a great senator and he was a logical man who appeared to be forthright - which is how I like my politicians.

It must be terrible for you to have had the man you placed in charge to have displaced blatant dereliction of duty in his handling of terrorism, the economy, international relations.  I know you credit him for "keep us safe for 8 years" but Osama bin laden speech clearly stated his aim was not to fly jets into buildings or drop dirty bombs off at bus stops - but bankrupt America by way of war.  This is retaliation against America for their involvement in the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

http://mprofaca.cro.net/binladen_transcript.html

By the way, do you find it rather odd that of all the countries in the world collapsing from their involvement in the U.S. stock market and corporations, Israel is not and is, in fact, economically thriving quite well.  This is after veing at war nonstop for the past 15 years.  Do you find that unusual in the least?  Are you even curious about this since Paulson, Bernanke, Barney Frank along with the owners of the corporations that just been bailed out (why did they bail out freddie and fannie and not Indymac???  Why Bear Stearns and AIG but not Lehman Brothers????).

I have a feeling when everything is said and done, the world will realize we have been fleeced by an elite group of very determined men, men who have thought about this for years.  Bush is a Harvard bus school grad.  He appears stupid and everyone laughs and thinks it is endearing.  But i think he is acting - he thought Iraqi's would greet us with flowers and chocalate?  His father and Cheney have both been documented as saying a civil war would break out if Saddam was removed from power and that it would destabilize the middle east.

Bush and the republican party as they stand now are corrupt and I believe that many of the democrats are as well.  Special interests and corrupt America as bought them.  Now, you may disagree and defend every move made in the last eight years as smart but that is just your ego talking.

Repubs would be wise to listen to both sides a little more closely and raise your expectations for your next candidate.

Bush is accountable for the mess the country is in.  He is a liar, a cheater and a thief - And you can bet he makes a bee line for So. America with his loot when his term is finally up.  Bush, it is stated, was actually a black sheep in his family (Jeb was supposed to be the Bush son who reached the presidency, not George who was not his father's favorite child).

Even bigger than this?

The American left is dancing on the graves of the New Orleans dead

Posted By: vs on 2005-09-09,

A radio talk show host just said that...and I agree. This is the big story the left was looking for to TRY and nail Bush. Well, I hope they can live with their collective conscience that is if they even have one. I'm starting to believe they don't.

Even bigger WOW!!!! sm
I so agree with you on this! Shocker, huh? LOL

There are so many different systems in place right now that it is ridiculous. In my precinct, we still use the old pen and paper method which, though it probably has its flaws as well (stray pen marks, crumpled ballots, etc.), is definitely an easier system to navigate for voters, especially elderly voters who don't know how to use the more sophisticated systems. I have read and heard of numerous instances in which elderly voters have to be helped to use the machine systems. Everybody knows how to use a pen and paper....whether they use it intelligently or not is a whole 'nuther matter for debate. ;O)

I also think that a standardized method would speed up the process of counting votes and minimize the possibility of error....stray pen marks, hanging chads, etc.

The picture is even bigger than you think.

More smoke and mirrors from Bush.

This is bigger than politics....sm
A friend of mines posted this on another site and wants me to share the word. Her husband is on assignment in Iraq now.

As you all probably know I am a very proud wife of a Military Soldier. It is an honor, privelege and the toughest duty anyone woman can have. At times my fears get the best of me. And although I cannot imagine my life without my husband, I am in a marriage where his life is on the line daily and I have to remain strong not only for myself but for our 4 sons. This is going to really hit you emotionally and some of you may not even get through however you will see the purpose at the end. I live each day like its my last and this is the reason why.

Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.

No, he responded.

Heading out I asked?

No. I'm escorting a soldier home.

Going to pick him up?

No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq ..

I'm taking him home to his family.

The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many co nversations in so few days. I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.

Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign.

Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American.

So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and
Women for what you do so we can live the way we do .

Red Fridays.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the silent majority. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
Americasupports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that ... every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United Stateson every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once silent majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked What can we do to make things better for you? is ..We need your support and your prayers. Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!!
You really need to look at the bigger picture
Of course you care about your interest rate on your home, but neither candidate is going to 'solve' this horrific crisis, because there is no ONE reason for it! It is very complicated but as Americans, its our responsibility to TRY to understand it better so that we can demand the right course of actioN from ALL parties involved.

ONE FACT: When wages are stagnant an economy cannot grow - and that DEFINITELY is playing into what is happening in the financial crisis. Ask yourself which candidate is for INCREASING wages and fighting for equal pay for women and men...

Don't depend on SAM or anyone else to help you decide, use the power of the internet to educate yourself.

IF you like war and bleeding the treasury to ensure we have more of it, and more enemies to boot, then McCain is your man.

Im not enamoured of Obama either, so I'm not selling him to you either. That said, he ALWAYS opposed Bush's fake war - which has cost us HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS. Gee, where could we have put that $ to better use? Remember IRAQ did not attack us in 2001; the majority of attackers came from SAUDI ARABIA.

Why? Because they demanded we remove our military bases from their lands and we did not comply. After they attacked us, we attacked Iraq and guess what? WE MOVED THE MILITARY BASES TO IRAQ to appease Saudi Arabia.

Think this has nothing to do with you getting a good rate on your new home?

THINK AGAIN. As long as Americans choose their leaders based on cute lines in debates, we are destined to be robbed again and again and again.

You must look at WHAT THEY WILL DELIVER based on their past record. MCCain will give you more of the last 8 years.

But again, that's my opinion. Please care enough to do your own research, which you will believe more than anything a stranger tells you anyway.

We are in bigger trouble than we know

It may just be way too late for Obama to get us out of the horrible mess we are in. We are fiddling while Rome burns - I sound like Chicken Little but indeed the sky IS falling - Frightening!

...."If we can use the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) as a guide for the next 12 months of product delivery and food availability in the stores we shop in then the BDI says shelves will be virtually empty of almost every product we use each and every day. Is the BDI is wrong it will be an historic first. The BDI is used by bankers, financial experts, brokers, traders and everyone in high end finance to assess the global financial condition and the availability of products worldwide. The BDI has dropped 94% in a short few weeks which means raw materials, grains, ores, steel, iron, cement and all imported products for food manufacturing and product manufacturing even though we actually do very little of that here in the US."

Here is the bigger problem
O says he is going to be transparent and "change" how things are done.  Haven't heard ONE thing about where that money went.  They aren't doing anything about it.  That is an even bigger problem because we have four long years ahead of us still to come.
You probably need to get a bigger teleprompter as I see
you are all stumbling in your reply here.  Duh?
Bush is by far a bigger embarrassment than

All Clinton should have said was "No comment" in regard to the whole Monika disaster.  He should not have lied, but I really don't think it was any of our business what he did behind closed doors sexually, so I think he should not have commented at all.  Bush's string of ignorant comments and actions are far more embarrassing/damaging to this country than anything Clinton did or said.  I die a little inside each time I see President Bush on TV or read about another dumb thing he said.  It bothers me so much!!!  He makes us all look bad, and he is soooo cocky.  Disgusting. (btw, I'm not voting for Hilary.  Just wanted to point out why I think Bush is a much greater embarrassment than the Clintons!)

because many of those on the side of "we're sending kids to war" are the exact same people that think 13-year-olds should be able to have abortions without their parents knowledge or consent...glad that's not you.
Boy, you just keep MAKING our
don't you? Because the middle east has been unstable was only 1 of many reasons not to start a war there.
they are making all the $$$ they can because they know
fossil fuels will be exausted in about 10 years. For the record it doesn't matter if the average joe stops buying gas, truckers and airlines will still need fuel. it's quite ignorant of someone to assume they can really affect big oil buy not buying gas for one day. They know you will just buy it later; they are like a drug dealer and you need your fix---you will eventually come back.
since you are obviously making

over $250,000 a year if your taxes are being raised, can't feel too sorry for you.

It's you or them and when making

the split decision to save your life, I am sure you would choose LIFE.  That's where a gun would come in real handy.  I don't think our founding fathers needed counseling, do you?

I don't know? Just making a

suggestion?  Don't get your ruffles in a twist?

Are you making this up?
It sounds you are making it up. If not point me in the right direction. I'm on his website searching everywhere and I am not finding these 3 type of revolutions you are claiming are on his site.

What I am reading is that he has been hearing that a lot of people want one, not that he's inciting them. But he is trying to get to the bottom of what it would mean and what it would be like.

Besides, what do you think a revolution is all about? A revolution is standing up to a govt of Tyranny. It is up to them (govt) whether they make it violent or not. The people need to hold them accountable for what they are doing.

I like the flag that Texas has

http://galleryoftherepublic.com/txflags/goliad.htm

Someone stated it means "I would rather cut off my right arm than serve under Tyranny".
the reason they are making
the reason they are making a big deal about the drilling about to happen in alaska is because tyhey think that it is going to interuppt the migration of one of the biggest elk herds in all of alaska, and because if it did, that would not only kill the animals, but a local tribe depends on that herd for food........lol.another contradiction in their thinking.

i personalluy believe that the drilling there is going to be a huge step towards our energy independence.because it will provide over 3 million barrels of oil for over thirty years.wich is ten percent of what we would have used...............
AR making a habit of that, LOL
Just can't seem to help him/herself!
This is a kid you're making fun of
Why does this upset you so? If a student had taped a pro-Bush student would you be making fun of him? I highly doubt it. This kid was concerned that he was being continually being taught a particular political viewpoint in geography class. It happened more than once. I think the kid showed a lot of courage--it wouldn't have mattered to me what his political persuasion was. He should been learning geography and not subjected to political rants on either side.
and you keep making mine

So if something is amiss in the word you don't try to fix it at all you just hope that it goes away?

Would you rather deal with Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas before they get nukes or after?  Should we have let Saddam get nukes too?

This whole *Bush was too preoccupied with Iraq to deal with this situation* the Dems are crying is bull. Just like everything else they say in fact.  This situation has been ongoing for years.  The cease fires so touted by Madeline Albright and Clinton have never been true cease fires.  This is a conflict that has been going on ever since there were Jews and Arabs.  This is one situation you cannot historically place the blame on Bush.  Doesn't hold water.  So, if you are so concerned about our President supposedly not knowing history or geographics then I suggest you do some studying of your own, because your history and your perception of it is a little skewed itself.

You are making it an issue
You are trying to defend Merv Griffin when no one said anything bad about him or that he was not a conservative.  All that was stated was what he commented about the vote, nothing more or less.  You are reading much more into it than I ever intended.  Dont waste your time looking up more information about Merv, who cares?  His comment is what his comment was.  Goodness, LOL.  Dustin Hoffman also made a comment on Letterman that the democrats taking over the House and Senate was a historic day.  It was a comment nothing more.  I must state, though, that the audience also clapped, whistled, cheered when Dustin said that.
Thank you for making my point...
"their crimes, if brought to light and hopefully proven, will be far worse than Clinton ever did." Sigh. They are guilty in your mind as I knew you thought (was in the windy post you did not read). Which makes your comment about innocent until proven guilt worthless and the "wind" you refer to. It only applies to those you want it to apply to. Yes, that IS hypocrisy.

Worse than Clinton did? In a FAIR world, perjury is perjury and is a crime. No matter what they were lying about. Obstruction of justice is obstruction of justice. Which is what they are talking about impeaching Cheney with. The judiciary committee is talking about the Plame case, nothing else. That is what is on the table. Obstruction of justice and perjury. Same thing we already know Clinton is guilty of, because we saw him do it.
And yet you make excuses, as I knew you would. Sigh. You are nothing if not predictable.

Again...I wish the WOULD investigate. I wish they WOULD impeach if they think they have the goods. And if he is proven guilty of perjury and obstruction, then I hope he is removed from office. You CANNOT, and WILL NOT, EVER say that about Clinton (oh because he only lied about sex), and that is a BIG difference between you and me. Maybe I was wrong about your morality. Maybe I gave you too much credit.
You are the one making an issue (sm)

out of his middle name.  So what if someone posts his middle name?  What do YOU have to be worried about?  It appears that she cut and pasted an article written by someone else.  Had you not written a huge post about the name *Hussein,* many would not have even given it a second thought.

i am making light of the

attempts to discredit Barack by calling him a celebrity.  You will see the same issue repeated over and over on this board, only by those who seriously consider that a valid issues.

That is too funny..thanks for making my day!
