And to that, I would say..... sm

In Reply to: Why I voted for Obama (sm) - Just the big bad

1.  I believe in a woman's right to choose.  I have read the FOCA bill and have based my decision on my interpretation of that bill in accordance with my own opinion.  YOUR interpretation of that bill will not matter.  It is the government's interpretation which will matter in the end and your opinion is not going to be worth a flip.

2.  I believe the war in Iraq is a disaster.  I don't think it does credit to our troops to send them into harm's way for an unjust war.  Obama will end that war and get our military home.  The money we spend in Iraq is also included in that.  I would rather not see us in a war either, but more importantly, I do not want to see Muslim extremists destroying our country as they have been trying to do for years.  Maybe Obama does need to bring our troops home because if he ends that war in Iraq, we will need them here..... On America's battleground to protect us from the insurge of terrorists that will surely come if we do not do all we can to stem that tide at the source.

3.  I agree with Obama's tax plan.  I have sat down and compared the two, and in my situation, I get a better deal with Obama's plan.  I see no difference in McCain's plan and what is going on right now with Bush.  You may like it now, but what about when your tax cuts that Bush instituted are allowed to expire JUST AS OBAMA SAID he would allow them to do.  You'll REALLY need that government handout then.  This is part of what is wrong with America today.....a "what's in it for me" attitude with Americans not seeing past the end of their noses.  I, too, have sat down and looked at the 2 tax plans and find that Obama's plan will net me a little more in the way of a tax rebate at my current earning level.  However, as I look at my current filing situation at a slightly, and I do mean SLIGHTLY, higher earning level, then Obama's plan pretty much screws me.  If Obama allows Bush's tax cuts to expire as he said he would and brings offshore jobs back home to Americans in an effort to raise the wages for Americans, then I can very well expect my income level to rise to that SLIGHTLY higher amount.

With regard to the economic crisis, Obama said it's unacceptable to expect the American people to "hand this administration or any administration a $700 billion check with no conditions and no oversight when a lack of oversight in Washington and on Wall Street is exactly what got us into this mess."  Yet that is exactly what he is doing with his redistribution of the wealth, asking the upper income bracket of America to give their money over to the lower income bracket which will only serve to further increase the welfare class in this country.

4.  McCain has shown is lack of leadershiip in the fact that he cannot manage his own campaign.  He ran all around like a chicken with his head cut off when the economic crisis hit.  Said he suspended his campaign and didn't. Obama submitted a plan and went with hit, showing leadership qualities.  McCain  campaign suggested that he would skip the debate if Congress hadn't passed legislation addressing the crisis by then. Obama, however, said the debate in Oxford, Mississippi, should go forward.

"It's my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person will be the next president," the Democrat said in Clearwater, Florida. "It is going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once. It's more important than ever to present ourselves to the American people."

5. Negative campaining:  This is something McCain and his wife publicly said he would not do, and yet he seems to be okay with it now.  You say "negative campaining", I say "stern warnings."  The people of Germany refused to listen when they were warned of Hitler's socialist tendencies and look how they ended up.  The so-called negative campaigning of McCain has simply brought to light Obama's questionable associations with people that are proven marxists and socialists and, very likely, communists.

The list is much longer, but these are a few.  Don't bother, your laundry list did nothing more than reinforce to me that I will be making the right decision when I check the box next to McCain/Palin on Tuesday.
