wonderful than a Christian who hides their own sin to make them look better. Believe me....I'm surrounded by the holier than thou art Christians who can do as they please as long as they keep it quiet and behind closed doors. These people who hide behind closed doors are nothing but hypocrits. I sin on a daily basis. I know it...God knows it. I have nothing to hide. If I stub my toe in public, you bet I'll probably swear. Do you gossip with your friends and church buddies? How do you keep that quiet and behind closed doors when you obviously need others involvement to gossip?
Do you watch movies with actors who have knowingly cheated on their spouses? How is that any different than listening to an open gay person's music? You can't hardly watch anything at all without someone involved in that program or movie having cheated on their spouse at some point. It is Hollywood afterall. Do you lock yourself in your house with the blinds down and live as a hermit? Of course you don't....I'm assuming that is. Do you condone those people and their affairs because you watch their movies? Of course not....that is just pure silliness and that is out in the public eye just as much as homosexuality is nowadays.
How hard is to tell your children that you don't condone that behavior. That is all that needs to be said. You can love someone and hate what they do. Just because I thoroughly enjoy Elton John and Queen doesn't mean I'm more likely to turn gay or accept that behavior. I still find it disgusting but that doesn't mean I won't burst into a chorus of Benny and the Jets because that is an awesome friggin song.
How can you teach your children tolerance (not acceptance) when you yourself aren't willing to practice tolerance? So Adam is gay....who cares. That is something he will have to answer for just like the rest of us who sin. We will have to answer for what we do. So in that aspect....what makes us any different than him? Aren't we all sinners? Love the sinner, hate the sin. You too can listen to a gay man's music without accepting his lifestyle or instantly having the urge to become gay yourself.
Besides, it isn't like Adam is an obnoxious gay man who spouts out that if you don't have the same perspective he does on homosexually that you can screw yourself. He isn't like Perez Hilton here. In fact, he kept his gayness quiet until after American Idol. He didn't particularly hide it but he didn't scream it from the mountain tops either.
