Not really sure what you mean by difficult...
maybe illegal aliens should have a class for Americans. They seem to be able to get on all the programs, no problem. The SCHIP program for children for one. That is one of the loopholes in the present bill that all the hooplah is about...that Bush asked to be taken out of the bill before it was sent to him. He and the Republicans in Congress also asked that the Democrats vote to extend the program for 6 months to a year as it exists now and look into a better plan for renewing and re-funding. But the Democrats refused. Now what in the world would it have hurt to leave it as is for 6 months and work out a plan so that the expansion of the program would expand to take in American citizens vs illegals, and make sure that the correct income requirements were enforced? Why is that such a bad thing?
Well, I know this may be difficult for you to
but I picked up the phone and asked the district this was filed in..... duh?

This is not rocket science. If you don't wanna know the truth, you won't look for it.

Wasting my time here.
I I find it difficult to take anything that ..
O'Reilly says to heart. His demeanor is the true definition of a blowhard bully. I tend to tune out when people are screaming at me or really dishing out the hate stuff. Having said that, I do not believe that the Marine thing is about **good** or **bad** apples.  War is an unnatural state. War without end is even worse. I don't know any details - none of us do - but in a setting where soldiers are deployed and redeployed and redeployed over and over in a hostile tribal environment where they do not know who is friend or foe, this tragedy does not come as a surprise. I certainly don't condone this, no one would, but I understand how it could happen and I believe that if it did happen that those involved are not necessarily **bad apples.**  Everyone keeps saying that 99.9% of the military are exemplary soldiers. I am not so sure that those involved are not as well. Gross mismanagement of the troops, a complete lack of understanding of the tribal nature of Iraq, in other words, a failure from the Pentagon on down would be the culprit in my opinion. These are the people who should be held accountable but that, of course, will not happen. A few very low-on-the-totem-pole soldiers will be the scapegoats in this and generals and civil service Pentagon folks will just walk away. I am still waiting for the dogs from Abu Ghraib to be indicted. That is just about how inept and ridiculous the management of the war has been.  As far as Murtha goes...I believe he truly believes what he says and is extremely concerned about the troops themselves, the real people fighting on the real ground in real Iraq. I think he speaks from his heart and could care less about payback or whatever. I think that he is frustrated and angry and feeling helpless as many of us are over a situation that has good outcome possible.
I find it difficult
to believe so many of you really feel Obama is just pretending to care about people and is some sort of terrorist. Do you really believe that or just trying to keep things stirred up?

It is so unbecoming.
why do you find that so difficult?
Do you honestly believe he has your best interests at heart? Do you honestly feel totally safe when you see his past associations and review his record? I don't find that unbecoming; I find it scary....that so many people can be taken in and ignore so much that should be questioned and should make them nervous. Why is the rest of the world so invested in seeing him as the next president? I don't think it's because they want what is best for the US, do you???
Agree, you'd think as difficult as our job
is to learn that MTs would actually have some brains and common sense, but there are some real whackjobs on here lately!
Why they made it so difficult is

beyond me.  Unless they made it difficult on purpose so it would be easier for people to "make mistakes."  I just don't get it.

Is it too difficult for you to read
the links I provided regarding copyright law? Or, is it simply a matter of wanting to argue? I don't really care what you posted, I provided links for everyone's benefit instead of posturing.
I find it difficult to tolerate stupidity.

It's very difficult to qualify for welfare these days. It is the rich getting

Yes, welcome, Starcat.
I enjoy your posts very much.  Thanks, and please keep posting.
Thanks Starcat!
My daughter is holding together. the baby of course doesnt understand..She is visiting her mom-in-law now and then is coming here for a few months while she decides what to do. She is lost and so sad it breaks my heart. Since it looks like finally this country is waking up to the mess this admin has made, Im praying every night this ends before many more have to deal with what my daughter is dealing with. Looks like a lot of the Rep corruption is comingto light tho..Delay, Abramoff etc. So maybe there is some hope :)

I did get to spend LOTS of quality time with my grandson in the last month. what a pistol! I can say with complete confidence that I am right (as all grandparents are) that that baby is the cutest smartest kid ever in the known history of the universe :)
O, know, Starcat!
Now ewe have Nina hott on you're trale!!!  Quik!  Run four kover!!!  She iz a haitful won!!!
Thanks, Starcat.

It's an excellent article, definitely worth the read and just gives even more insight into how Bush thinks he is perfect and can make no mistakes, and if anyone dares to criticize him, they get canned.  The same thing happened with the first guy he hired to write his biography, a long-time family friend of the Bushes, Mickey Herskowitz.  Same kind of *swift-boating* pattern and punitive actions toward someone else who tried to tell the truth.  Here's the link:

Starcat is one of your own
and if France is so right why did we have to save their arses from Hitler? France right? Shows how distored your view of France is
Thanks Starcat :-)
It was very relaxing.  I shot a couple deer (with my 35-mm Minolta).  Almost got a bear, but he got a little too close for comfort and I chickened out and ran inside the cabin with my camera.  LoL.  There's nothing around for miles, and although I would have appreciated running water and no outhouse, the inconvenience was well worth it.  I hope I can get back in the fall again to feel that crisp air and see those beautiful colors.
Excuse me, starcat said it

In defense of Starcat...
Not that s/he needs defending but I think the general concensus amongst we liberals is what the heck is it going to take for some of you on the right to admit that this administration has gone too far too many times.  As the bumper sticker says, if you are not outraged, you have not been paying attention. It is just one thing after another after another and in my neck of the woods, you can't prove the economy is getting better or more jobs are being created either. Southwest Florida is a service community. If it were not for tourism our local economy would not survive. We are accustomed to people working for $6.15 an hour at service jobs. It has been that way a long time. Another one of those jobs created here or there is not cause for celebration. It's business as ususal. The University of Miami is in an uproar now, secondary to the STUDENTS' demands that the janitorial staff be paid a living wage. Thank God young people are getting it. The University of Miami is the fifth richest college in the US. I myself am not sure what that means...the student population comes from the wealthiest homes, the tuition is the fifth highest. Their budget is the fifth highest. I am really not sure what that means but I do know that the students found out their janitoral staff made $6-something an hour, no benefits and no raises in the last 5 years. They were shocked and have been bringing this to light, to the press. It seems that Miami contracts these jobs out (what a surprise) to the private sector and so they pass the buck to the contractors who say they can do whatever they like. The students are saying this is despicable and so on....anyway, I am rambling here, sorry, but my point is horrific abuses of power are happening one after another, the economy and the job situation are not getting better where it counts and that is in the paychecks and the benefits of ordinary Americans who are losing jobs in droves, working at low-paying, no benefits jobs, cannot afford to buy insurance, cannot afford to pay gas prices, watching billions being spent on a war of choice that has become an embarrassment even to Republicans, watching our elected officials lie, Swiftboat anyone who disagrees with them, put undercover people in harm's way, eavesdrop on  their own citizens, torture their detainees, and on and on and on. Our point is, what will it take for you to finally see what a debacle this administration is? What will it take for you to care that worldwide the United States and Bush are a joke or that an American city has been wiped out, promised the WPA on steroids and not a thing is being done, people are homeless by the thousands in LA, Mississippi and here in Florida and not only because of the hurricanes. What will it take??
Aw, Starcat, kut her a brake!
She gradyouated from the George W. Bush Skewl of Litterassy.
Thanks for the laughs, Starcat. nm

Excellent post, Starcat. (SM)
I suggest we don't feed the trolls.  They thrive on it.  I personally don't want to encourage them.
Great post, Starcat!

My rule of thumb is to compare the credibility of Bush and Sergeant Major Haney.  Bush lies to me on practically a daily basis, so my inclination and common sense tells me to believe the Sergeant Major.

I often wonder if we will have another *terror* attack (maybe a small nuclear one) in order to (a) justify a nuclear war with Iran and/or (b) to frighten people into believing (before the November elections, with an instantaneous government *response*) that Republicans are the only ones who can keep us safe (if it looks like they will lose control of the House and Senate).

I guess time will tell, and I pray that no more Americans will have to die.

To Starcat....GREAT POST...sm

Yours was a GREAT post.  I believe the entire thing was a scam and I am an evacuee of an airport *newark NJ* on 9/11 a.m.

Everything you said, about the warnings during the elections and then after the elections, all the warnings stopped...hit the nail on the head!!

The poster under us says that they think we are in the minority.......NOT SO....just today we have to shut our mouths.......because BIG BROTHER is watching.

This president is just plain stupid....do you see all the things that come out of his mouth?  David Letterman shows them, Jay Leno shows them, Conon O'Brien shows them....et al, ad nauseum.  Bush is an EMBARRASSMENT to ALL OF US, and for the ones who cannot *see* this?  Something is wrong with them too.

GREAT POST, Starcat!!!

GMTA = great minds think alike

Starcat, they are not true conservatives.sm
We do not support Bush. I wish everyone would just take the time to do some research on these political candidates, not only would you not vote for them, they would scare the hell out of you. I can tell by some posts on here that some have. We need to be united to get our country back, not fighting.
Starcat made a very valid point.

You don't tolerate irresponsibility when it comes to pet owners (which I agree with, by the way), yet you seem to welcome it when it comes to your political party.  One has to ask why you continue to sing the praises of and support the most irresponsible administration in US history, yet you express outrage about a cat owner.  Just doesn't make sense.

And as far as you being tolerant, one only needs to take a quick look at the conservative board to see how laughable that really is.  You and your cohorts post the most intolerant posts I've ever seen anywhere on the internet.

I do agree with you about pet owners being responsible.  I am a pet owner and keep my pets under control simply because I love them and want to keep them safe.

Starcat, there have been nameless trolls on these boards for years. sm
Democrat knows it, too.  Or she has a very short memory.  I am just setting the record straight here, because I am really tired of all this innocent why is everyone picking on us posting here.
