gotta have something so badly that mob mentality rules, all for an XBOX, a TV, or some other item people probably can't afford anyway. Christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year and brings out the best in people!

Tolerant until you are blue in the face? You are TOLERANT of churches and ministers, and religious symbols? I don't even know how to respond to that. How often do you actually look at your money and see "In God We Trust" that it bothers you? It's gotten so small in some cases you can hardly see it.
Where do you get that the minorities are under ANYBODY'S thumb? All any minority has to do is whine or throw a temper tantrum and they magically get what they want while everyone else playing by the rules, sits back and goes "Well, how the hel did THAT happen?"

I think the reason you guys don't like Bill O'Reilly or Fox News is that they report the stuff the left doesn't want to hear. They are only interested in the stuff that gets reported by the "driveby media" that the left takes as the gospel because all the other "news" channels lean so far to the left. (yes I like Rush, too, but I'm sure your hatred of HIM could be fodder for a whole other thread!) Do you think O is going to get the abuse that W got the last 8 years? I don't think so. And I'm not saying Bush hasn't done some dumb stuff during his administration, but it wouldn't have mattered what he did in the last year or so. Nothing was going to help him in the eyes of the media or the rabid left.
And as for gay marriage. Once again, it is the majority being asked to bend over and take one up the tail pipe to satisfy a small group of people who are whining and throwing a gigantic hissy fit. Marriage by definition is "the state of being united to a person OF THE OPPOSITE sex as husband and wife." Why does that definition have to be changed to satisfy just a handful people? Let them come up with their own definition for what they want. Call it Lewis for all I care.
Oh, and as for your unjust wars? DH and I were just discussing this the other night. Everyone is saying it's time to get out, and maybe it is. I don't know. I'm not over there. I don't know what it's like. But we were saying what if we HADN'T gone into Iraq and that lunatic had actually still had his WMDs and his chemical weapons and somehow they got in the wrong hands. Then it would be "We should've gone in there while we had the chance." And it would be forever too late.

Why wouldn't you think an animal has a soul. Of course they have a soul (at least I believe they do). Just look into your pets eyes and you know for sure.
Besides, how do you know for a fact they don't have a soul? Or to be completely fair, how do I know they do have a soul.
The truth is we don't know.
If you want to follow the bible it does say that animals will be in heaven. Nowhere in the bible does it say that animals do not have a soul. In fact in revelations it says that all creatures recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world and praise God right along with redeemed men.
It always seems to be a human being saying animals don't have souls. I say there are a lot of humans in the world who don't have souls.
Here is something I read that I truly believe...
Yes all things have a soul even the trees of the field have a soul toward their Maker. God made all of the birds, the cats and the dogs and yes I believe they have a soul. Animals are able to understand commands and love. They often crave love. They would not understand love if they had no soul. I believe we shall have pets in Heaven including those we fear here. We shall have nothing to fear there. Not all animals are edible and therefore have another purpose.
And, isn't it wonderful that these animals
creatures of the wild.....wonder how many of them are in favor of abortion? Natural animal instinct to care for their young.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. ALL animals should be treated in a humane fashion.
I am offended that people will defend wildlife and endangered species but they think nothing of eating meat and animals that have been treated cruelly.
How can you say it's cruel to hunt animals, but you don't think it's cruel how chickens, cattle, pigs and other animals are treated before you (no, not you personally because I don't know if your a vegetarian) but people who are not vegetarians will think nothing and don't care how the animals they are eating are being treated.

As always, good to see you here...I remember reading when I was a kid that John F. Kennedy did not accept hjs salary as President; that he gave it back to the U.S. Guess since he was wealthy, he felt there was no need to take it. Too bad we don't have that kind of individual in office now..

Professor Teresa Ghilarducci proposed to eliminate all tax incentives for 401k plans and shift to a universal government-sponsored program with mandatory minimum savings rates per worker of 5% with a government-subsidized match of $600/year for lower-income workers.
Now they want ME to subsidize the low-income worker, even though I work my butt off as it is and pay double what they pay in taxes. I'm sick of it.
There are some saying no way this will happen, blah, blah, blah, but sure it can happen. The democrats already want to take everything you have and sell you down the river.
There are a lot of dems out there saying this won't happen but seeing how they feel entitled to my money and want to steal even more, I'm sure this isn't far down the road.
