It's called a skin graft, if that, indeed, was where there was cancer removed....sm
My aunt had a cancer (don't remember the kind), the size of a grapefruit removed from her cheek, and the skin graft always stuck out after that.
How much electricity does a tanning bed use?
How much electricity does a tanning bed use?
It depends on the tanning bed, but a typical 24 lamp SunMaster uses less electricity than a hand held hair dryer. Even 220v tanning beds use very little more than this. This figures to about 5 to 10 cents per tanning session, depending on electricity costs in your state.
She paid for the tanning bed herself...
not the taxpayers. Maybe we should go in all the gov mansions in the lower 48 and see who installed what. Sheesh! lol.

As to the rape kit thing...you act as if Wasilla, Alaska is the only city who did that. It is common practice in the lower 48 as well. That does not make it right, but it is not isolated to Sarah Palin. And it you look closer, the Wasilla Police Department AND the State police (not under her jurisdiction) were actually paying for the testing, and then passing the cost on to the patient, which prompted the STATE, because of the state troopers billing as well, to ban the practice. So if you are going to take Wasilla to task for it, add several towns in the lower 48 to the list.
So, lots of people have tanning beds
If I lived in Alaska I'd have one too. Looking at the pics of her it doesn't look like she uses it in excess. My cousin has one and says it does not use a lot of energy (they told me this about 7 months ago).

So maybe you don't think she should have a microwave or toaster or even a coffee pot either.
I think you really get under their vulgar skin, Sam

More than one way to skin a taxpayer

or attack an amendment.  What good is a bullet launcher without bullets?  I heard that with their allotment of materials, manufacturers have been directed to make ammunition only for the government because of the war.  Hold on a second.....isn't the war supposed to be winding down??

I never said that - please develop thicker skin

Nobody insulted you.......get over it.......and try to have a nice day.

it rubs the lotion on its skin or

it gets hosed again. -- Gumb in Silence of the Lamb

His skin color has absolutely nothing to do with it.
I have said so repeatedly and already said it was a historical and great accomplishment on his part, and it is. However, my concerns about him did not disappear because he was elected. It is up to him to solidify or change my opinion of him. He said as much...for those whose trust I have not earned yet. I am one of those.
for Kaydie: 'thicker skin'???,,,,,s/m

'....and the embryo starts only to live during the 5th month!
Yes, I can, I would have a calmer conscience than knowing that my child is out there somewhere, in the hands of strangers, not knowing HOW they are treating him/her.
I prefer to give it back to God, before it starts to live!
My embryo is MY embryo and it is not COMMON property.
YES, I COULD.

And the outrageous reply of 'sm', now I think it is 'm'!

"the embroy starts only to live during the 5th month"

Quite possibly the single most ignorant post I've seen on this MB.

If you are truly that completely clueless about the workings of the human species, I beg you to get yourself sterilizied RIGHT THIS MINUTE!!!!

And if it's YOUR belly and YOUR body you're defending, please tell me whose tiny feet, and face, and fingers are those that are being sucked out of your 'belly?'

I pray to God you're not a mother. And that you never will be.

People get banned from this board. I noticed that there are people who post every day and all of a sudden they are gone, disappeared.
How worse than the above reply by 'sm' or 'm' ? has a comment to be to get banned????

You could find out you have cancer and need
you might have to wait 6-12 months and could die by then.
Turley on Bush's Constitutional Skin

Well, first of all this President's theory of his power I think is now so extreme that it's unprecedented. He believes that he has the inherent authority to violate  federal law. He has said that. Not just the signing statements and the infamous torture memo-that Alberto Gonzales signed. It was stated that he could in some circumstances order federal officials to violate federal law and this is consistent across the board with this President. Frankly, I'm not too sure what he thought he was swearing to when he took the oath of office to uphold the Constitution and our laws. I've never seen a President who is so uncomfortable in his constitutional skin.

72 yrs old and 2-time cancer survivor.
Before you go off, this is NOT wishful thinking, just simple fact. The only thing scarier than a McCain presidency would be a Palin presidency.
cancer and national health
It's these sort of false concerns -- LOOK OUT, SIX TO TWELVE MONTH WAITS AND BY THEN YOU'RE DEAD! DEAD!!!! -- that impede progress toward a fair healthcare system. They're repetition of talking points, nothing more. A ten-second internet search would tell you, for instance, that in the UK:

-Over 99% of people with suspected cancer are now seen by a specialist within two
weeks of being urgently referred by their GP.

-Over 99% of patients with cancer are receiving their first treatment within one
month of diagnosis.

-Over 96% of patients with cancer are receiving their first treatment within two
months of being urgently referred by their GP.

Now I'll leave it to you and Google to find the comparable numbers for the US.

The larger point is, though, that if you decide this nation doesn't need universal healthcare, then you need to say exactly who it is you don't want care provided to. Because that's all this ever comes down to: Who do you include, and who do you leave out?
Bravo to them. Lots of cancer in my family.
Great article.  Thanks for posting it!  I applaud them.  Obviously early detection is key, and it makes sense that many people without insurance are not getting regular screenings done.
You certainly have thin skin... I've been called a bigot among other things here.

Not only do I have a thicker skin - I also have a FULLY DEVELOPED brain-what a concept!!

American Cancer Society focuses its ads on the uninsured

Has anyone seen the ads yet?

Good Article. The American Cancer Society sm
is also advocating national health care as are a lot of medical organizations.  They see the problems with the current system every day and know things cannot continue as they are.
And neither does John McCain. He is cancer free - see link.

And at least he isn't at risk for lung cancer like Mr. Obama who smokes like a chimney. That is more worrisome to me.

Yes, McCain has made mistakes in what he has said. So has Obama. But at least McCain doesn't associate with radicals and hasn't had communist mentors, and on and on and on.

I'm glad we don't have to worry then because he is cancer free and has been for several years
I thought I posted the link but I guess I must have forgotten to.

I'm more worried about Obama's chain smoking and the potential for lung cancer. My mom had lung cancer and it was horrible. It eventually went to her brain. Horrible horrible way to die.

Anyway...sorry I forgot to post the link before. Here it is.

True. Sure hope he does not get lung cancer while in office.nm

Or how about leaving your wife who is sick and dying of cancer to run for President
There! Don't sling mud unless your prepared to get it back in the face.

Palin has a loving and caring family that is backing her and taking care of things - and I doubt very much she is "leaving" her baby. Sheesh! Your trying to make it sound like she's dropping her child off on a cold street corner with nobody to take care of them. If your going to go there then you might as well say and what father would leave his 2 young children to run for President.
Ovarian cancer. McCain's father died of a heart attach...sm
around 70 I think. FYI, Obama quit.
