I'm curious how you know that? Did you conduct a survey?

Did they invite you in an offer you bon bons? Must be a really small, close-knit population. There is some missing information here. What part of the country. How's the job situation there?

Survey says...
What do you personally do to help in your community? Volunteer ESL teacher; provide social and legal counseling for immigrants/political refugees seeking permanent legal status.

What do faith do you have? Universalist.

Do you have a mortgage and what is the status? Been able to make payments on time, behind, lost your home? My condo is paid for in full. Due to Hurricane Ike, when I lost my power for 2 1/2 weeks, I also lost my job. I missed a payment on my maintenance fees and the condo association threatened me with FORECLOSURE for being 30 days late. It's paid up now.

Do you have health insurance? If not, why? No. Yankee MTSOs don't "get" hurricanes.

Do you have young children? No.

Were you for the bailout? Corporate welfare? Of course not.

Do you have money invested in stocks? Have you/are you going to cash it in? No stocks. Home equity, CDs and mineral royalties.

Think we should bring our troops back? Yesterday. Never should have been there in the first place.

Now, who do you think you will vote for? Obama/Biden.

fun little survey
What do you personally do to help in your community?
I coached cheerleading for a local high school, also in "background" to volunteer at the NICU, im so excited for that. Not sure if those things count... but I think they are pretty cool

What do faith do you have? I am a Catholic Christian, but I do not go to church religiously, no pun intended. I have faith in God regardless.

Do you have a mortage and what is the status? Been able to make payments on time, behind, lost your home?

I do have a mortgage, bought my home 2 years ago right before the market crashed, would probably today be considered one of the "subprime" mortgages that shouldn't have been given; however I had 20 percent down and I can afford my payments as of now. My ARM is up in 4 years, hopefully by then things will be more stable. I am paying on a mortgage that is more than my house is worth. It's devastating and I was young and wish I would have understood economics better, I wanted to get in while I could cause I just thought they'd keep going up. Now a house twice my size with a big backyard is 20K less than i paid for my little guy. Oh well. At least i have a home

Do you have health insurance? If not, why?

I do have health insurance, paid by myself for 10 years now.

Do you have young children? No children but some day i hope :)

Were you for the bailout? hell NO. because now look, EVERYONE wants to be bailed out.

Do you have money invested in stocks? Have you/are you going to cash it in? I don't. not enough money and if Obama gets elected it will be even less!

Think we should bring our troops back?
Of course, after the job is done. My Marine served in Iraq and he knows what he was there for.

Now, who do you think you will vote for?
I KNOW I am voting McCain. He had me at "war Hero". I think Obama is an awesome speaker, and a hopeful guy no doubt, but I just don't agree with him bottom line.
Taking a survey...
Anyone have any thoughts on Romney being Mormon, will it hurt, help, doesn't matter....Did he convert to Mormonism; I don't remember his father being a Mormon.
Re: Poll/Survey sm
There are a lot of concerns and issues facing the nation at this time and for some reason my gut tells me substance will be the major factor in the next election, at least I hope so. Thus far the two candidates that have caught my attention are Obama and Romney, but the election is quite a ways off and I need to do more research. Anyway I hope that religion/hairstyles/past lovers, etc., take a back seat to substance/ability/issues in the next election.

Executive power survey by presidential candidates.

In case you haven't seen this article, I am posting the link:

This is very enlightening for those who want to know their candidates thoughts about executive power.

Just curious...

Did your body experience a sudden, involuntary CHOKING/GAGGING sensation when he mentioned how much he respects Cindy Sheehan's opinions?  Mine did.

Why? Just curious. sm

Alex is not an extremist (libertarian, not Libertarian party).  There is a media blackout surrounding 911 - wonder why?  Google a video called Loose Change and watch it.  The facts and evidence that they lied to us are plainly there.  Those of  us who want the truth to come out are in the millions, not in the minority.  The survivors, witnesses, and family members, etc. have a web site: 911truth.org.  Please go and see it for more information.

I'm curious

On AOL today one of their topics is Barack Obama admitting his previous drug use.  It links to an article that gives a little quote of what he said to high school students.  I was wondering if anyone else knows of any links or knows how he is talking about this issue.

Meaning - the stuff I read essentially made it sound like he was saying ' I was bored and didn't have anything else to do' with only one line saying he did it to 'escape' (my word not his).  I think it would be a very BAD idea to tell high school students ' I did it because it was fun' (again, all my words, not his)

I was just curious if he's ever gone into more detail (the article said he does in his book, which I have not read).  I would like to know if he is trying to use his experiences to teach people - this article certainly did not make it sound that way.

TIA!!

I am curious about something you said.
If you are seeking an issues forum and have been turned off by all this childish banter (which I agree, it is), why then would you base a decision as important as who gets your vote on the juvenile emotional trash you see here and denouce?
I'm curious
Do you guys have anything to add other than, "Yeah, well Obama " every time someone says something about McCain that is not positive? The thread is not about Obama, and I'm pretty sure the Contras were far more organized and scarier (and US gov. backed, mind you)than Mr. Weather Underground, not that anything he or his group did is permissible in any sense.
I'm curious about this
I wonder what this "affordable" insurance will cover. I did IC work for awhile and checked around with different policies and there are "affordable" insurance policies out there right now.... What I happened to check into didn't help too much with preventative but it was 100% hospitalization but it was "affordable."

Can you show me anything that shows me what exactly this "affordable" insurance will cover?

Also, I'm curious what he considers "affordable"..... $25 a month? $500 a month? It just seems very vague to me.

I am curious to know
"progressive" candidate is? Is this a good or a bad thing for you? Also, there is an avalanche of "doctored" photos out there. Seeing is not believing during an election year, especially as polarized as this one is becoming.

I think world leaders "endorsing" Obama is a good thing, friendly or not. It doesn't mean anything particularly suspicious or scarey. In a democracy, even communists and theocrats are entitled to their opinions. I think the interest they are taking in this election is a positive sign. People across the globe are counting down the months, weeks, days, hours ad seconds left in the W administration. I know that personally, I am positively ecstatic at the very thought of a Bushless world. Why should world leaders be excluded from participating in such a joyous occasion?
just curious about SNL
i didn't see it, but also have heard absolutely nothing about how Sara Palin did on there -- was she funny?  relaxed?  any awkward moments?
I was really just curious . . .
not looking for an opening to slam anybody. The only reason I am against the death penalty is the 1 in whatever chance the person is innocent.

I am not for abortion but I think it is going to happen whether it is legal or not. Even the ancient Greeks used herbs for abortion. My dad was a cop in the inner city when abortion was illegal. Back then there were no ambulances and the police answered all medical calls. He saw so many woman dead or dying from self-induced or illegal abortions, he lost count. He didn't believe making it legal increased the number of them performed, but just provided a more accurate way for them to be counted.

As far the child molesters, I'm with you on that one.
curious

First, did Sarah Palin's daughter have her baby?  I saw her a few times on TV and she didnt look pregnant.  If she did have it, what did she have?

Second, the election is over right?  Why are some so bitter.  Our guy didnt win.  Okay already.  Nothing we can do about it now.  I fear that pretty soon, we will have way more on our minds than this stuff.

Just Curious
Do you feel our government would be better if it was a theocracy instead?

Who do you think he should have picked?

Have you ever actually talked to one of those people who were layed off in the auto industry?  I know several and not one of them knows about this $31 for playing checkers stuff.  All say if they had they would have demanded their share.  One did take advantage of their retraining program and got a CDL.  After finding out truck driving wasn't for him, he moved to Houston and went to work in the oil industry.  Reality check:  If they can draw $31 an hour for playing checkers, why on earth would they be worried about losing their jobs?  Per Judge Judy:  If it doesn't make sense it isn't true.

Just out of curiosity....how on earth do you people who do all the research and posting, likely not limited to just this board, EVER find time to work?

I am curious.
If this were to get a fair hearing in a court of law, and the decision were to be against the validity of of the Hawaii birth certificate, exactly what do you think would happen next?

What is the $252/year tax called?

Our school district is also about to raise our taxes in the form of a bond election in order to construct a new elementary school (we outgrew the current one) and make repairs to the jr high/high school building that was built 35 years ago (and on the cheap at that), so I know what you are talking about. We already pay rather hefty taxes, not to the extent of your district, but when the taxes might be $300 and you don't have it, they may as well be $3,000,000.
just curious...
why does one have to have their staff to go to dinner and theater?
Just curious here.....
David Letterman gets away with saying that ARod impregnated Palin's 14 y/o daughter at a baseball game as a "joke" and yet Don Imus gets fired for saying "nappy headed hoes."  Either Imus should never have been fired or Letterman needs to get the boot.  But of course Letterman won't because no feminist is going to stand up for any daughter of Sarah Palin's and as far as the left winged liberal media goes......you can make jokes about a 14 y/o having sex with an adult  ball player if it is Palin's daughter.  Personally, if I were ARod.....I'd be all pi$$y about it as well.  Letterman was not funny and, IMO, he owes an apology.....which will never happen but it should.
What a curious posting

I'm not sure why you would want to flaunt the fact that you are an uncaring person who enjoys giving others discomfort.

I'm also not sure why you'd want to post such as an ignorant comment as:

The only outrage liberal Democrats ever feel is mock.

You show little understanding or concern for other people, but worst of all, you seem proud of it.

No, curious as in wanting to know...
and it is obvious what you are "compelled" to do.
Curious about your post
Hi - as I read your post, think I may have missed something... when did the MT stars change to a new owner, is that something recent? I used to come here on MQ board but no more... and not as often. Just wondering what the scoop is, if you are allowed to post it here. I can imagine getting the threatening emails was disturbing... and from a "religious" person at that... and, I agree, if you have a liberal/conservative, and a Christian board, there should also be a nonreligious board too...

Thanks.
I'm curious. Why did you put this post up here?

curious, who do you consider to be a fake
Just wondering.
I think he looks like Curious George.

I just find this very curious....

Gay men from Barack Obama's Chicago church have been murdered and their murders go unsolved. These men were murdered in 40 days of each other around November 2007 to December 2007, when Obama was running for president. One was Obama's churches choir master, a man named Donald Young.

That is extremely disturbing that Barack Obama, a man running for president, has had murders in his church of gay males and their killings have gone unsolved.

That is unheard of for one church to have a couple of murders, especially during a time when a parishioner of the church is a person running for the highest office in the land, in over one month. Then the murders were of gay men in a church that was friendly to them because they knew the choir master was openly gay. This is a church Obama's children went to and Barack exchanged marriage vows with Michelle.

The choirmaster was killed execution style in December. This is a big story because imagine if that had happened to another presidential or vice-presidential candidate, that members of their follow church members were murdered in seperate killings.

Hopefully there will be justice and civil rights for these gay men.

Curious about lying
I am curious what you think caused you to lie all the time. How did you feel about it when you were doing it? Did you lie about things you knew people would find out weren't true?

I am just curious, as I have known a few people with that problem, and I could never figure it out. I would often end up not believing them when they were telling the truth and believing lies since everything had a 50/50 chance of being factual. It' was so frustrating and keeps a person from being able to be a real friend to them.
curious -- do you ever have a thought of your own?

Just curious...if McCain had won....
would you have posted this?
"others?" just curious

Do you mean that all of us are "going down?"

Someone in a different area from us told me that "sometime after the first of the year" there would be many more changes re the Cbay thing.  It's hard to know if he/she even knows the specifics.  Just checking.

Thanks.

I am curious to know how many of this people who...sm
question Obama's citizenship have a passport. If he has an American passport, which I know he does, it is virtually 100% sure that he is legally a natural-born citizen and eligble to be president. The process is quite strict.
I was curious if anyone responded
My computer crashed and I've been offline for a couple days. (Talk about totally lost). There are so many great quotes of our founding fathers. Their dreams, hopes and everything they worked for to build a great country is being destroyed. It's just all very sad. They sacrificed so much and some lost everything and people don't seem to care.

Thank you for responding to my message. Don't ask where I found that quote though cos I lost everything in the crash. Although thinking about that now maybe it was a good thing. HA HA HA.
Just curious - where did you hear that?

Sure is curious how gas prices have gone up, too.

I've been curious...
if those that voted for him were sorry they did and would they it differently if they could. Honestly and truly not trying to start anything. I was just wondering. I've cast some votes in the past in local elections that I wish I had back. You're right, there are no lemon laws in that regard.
Curious as synonymous with officiousness?
I am not feeling compelled to satiate.
curious - if Observer is not liberal, why always here?

Curious about where you found this article. Why?

I'm curious about how many other dems oppose
I think that if all they are required to do by 03/31/09 is to come up with a plan, then that is probably a reasonable expectation. The devil is in the details here. According to WaPo, "the companies would be required by March 31 to cut costs, restructure debt and obtain concessions from labor sufficient to report a "positive net present value," said Joel Kaplan, White House deputy chief of staff for policy. I am confused as to exactly what "sufficient to REPORT positive net present value" means. If by that they mean they should be in the black by March 31, that part most definitely does not seem feasible, but if the path to solvency is the short-term goal, then one would hope that management, the union and creditors would be able to comply with the cloud of pending bankruptcy looming.

However, my gut tells me that even that may be more than what the parties will be willing to do. It seems that if they cannot even come up with a plan by them, the repayment requirement is sort of a red herring, unless there is a way to make it a stipulation of the ensuing Chapter 11 proceedings, which I believe is what the act specifies. While I can understand the snag they have run into over the inclusion of the word "federal" versus the more far-reaching federal and state requirements for fuel efficiency (were the word eliminated), I am hopeful that they can get beyond that squabble by including the word, but phasing in the more stringent state requirements over a longer period of time.

Having said all that, I am one of those democrats who does not march lock-step on this issue, any more than I supported the original TARP bail-outs. While I do not want to see the automakers disappear, I do believe that they should go the way of Chapter 11 now and (I can't believe I am saying this) I would much rather see the republicans succeed in their filibuster!

i'm curious about both sides as far as plans

I'm curious what you think of Obama/Bauer
I'll be tuned in to SNL and next morning look forward to Colin Powell on Meet the Press, hoping for at least a nod toward the blue camp. I agree with you about the ACORN smear thing and am excited to see Obama has discovered his backbone and is flexing a little muscle in response. It's a gutsy move to say the least.
Not picking a fight, truly curious

As a nonbeliever what do you think it is that makes you feel good inside when you do something good?  I don't know much about atheists, always thought there wasn't much to know, except they don't believe in God and so I would assume when they die they believe that everything stops right there.  I feel that there has to be a better life in the world to come so I am asking a sincere question which is thought provoking at least to me.  If a loved one dies, how do you deal with it?  What happens to them.  When you die what happens to you?

I am curious if either of you believe in the death penalty
It is still murder but of a (hopefully) guilty person.
