I'm glad you feel strongly about him - see message

That is what America is about. Believing in a candidate and being allowed to express those opinions, and being allowed to express your opinion of why you dislike the other candidate. But we should not be tearing each other down because of who we believe is right or wrong for our next President. The bashing has gotten so nasty and for what purpose? Do people feel better if they call you ignor@ant and other nasty names, and then when you defend yourself they tell you your bashing them? There's just something not right about that. I too watched all the debates and that's is when I realized how many lies and twists is Obama going to tell. He'll say doesn't do negative campaigning but the commercials here are way way negative AND their on every hour or so. I'm getting bombarded all day and night (and yes it's both sides, but my point is Obama says he doesn't negative campaign and then I watch his negative campaign on TV. I'll tell you something...I don't believe either candidate. Otherwise my ballot would have been filled out and sent in. Obama has no integrity. He lost it all when he failed and continues to fail to produce documentation to show he is legitimate. He lost all integrity with me and others I know when he professed that those mean nasty republicans are picking on me. He plays the race card when it suits him. When he is losing on an issues he yanks out the race card. He is not truthful about his past acquantances, and he is not truthful about his plans. The reason I don't believe him on his tax thing (no new taxes) is for two reasons. One - Bill Clinton. He also said he will not raise taxes on middle class and literally within days of getting sworn in he passes the largest tax increase on middle income people. My tax rate when from 23% to 42%. Second - his voting record. He has voted to raise taxes on middle income in the past. What makes me believe he isn't saying this as a campaign strategy. So that is a few reasons why he lost credibility. He demands that McCains health records should be disclosed yet he won't disclose his (sorry a 1 page letter saying "he's healthy" doesn't cut it). He spends his time wildly running around suppressing information that as Americans we should see. Plenty of posters on this board earlier in the election were stating vehemently it's America's "right" to know about McCain's this or that, where he was born, health, etc, yet Obama has not proved this and everyone is giving him a pass on it. I don't get it. I'll admit. I voted for Obama over Hillary. I'd do anything to keep her out of the WH, but now I believe I made a serious mistake and misjudged her. Obama may be a fine speaker, good looking, dresses nice, beautiful family, but I do not know where his allegiences stand and I do not trust one minute that he will have our best interests at heart. I've read his past voting records, associations, etc. and I don't agree or trust him. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

If you feel so strongly about this...sm
What should we do then? Keep policing Iraq. It's not even a war. Do you honestly believe this is the cure to all?
I do feel strongly about this....
a premature pullout would be promoted as a great victory by the jihadists and I believe would be disastrous. I still believe stabilization in Iraq will occur and we will be able to start downsizing our presence there to bare minimum. No, I do not believe it is the cure all. As long as there are Islamic jihadists out there, and there always will be danger, until their own who say they love peace rise up and police their own ranks. That is why I feel strongly that we should present a strong and united front, that we will not tolerate terrorism against us. I do honestly believe that Al Qaeda's fear that Bush would retaliate with more boots on the ground in terrorism-supporting countries...is why we have not been attacked on our own shores since we went into Iraq. The idea that Saddam had nothing to do with terrorism or Al Qaeda is ludicrous, but the media abd the left have convinced many that that is the case. A federal judge found in a civil case brought by a 9-11 family member that Saddam did provide material support and was involved in 9-11. A Clinton-appointed judge. There are reams of proof of how many terrorists he supported who lived freely in Iraq...Abu Nidal, Abu Abbas, of Achille Lauro fame, Abdul Rahman Yasin, first WTC bombing, his old buddy Al Zarqawi, and on and on and on...but I digress. That is why I am concerned that if we get an administration who shows weakness and appeasement it could and probably would result in another significant attack. Because I honestly believe that the majority of the Democrat/liberal/left or whatever the proper name is do not have a good grasp of the threat, and they are more interested in getting and retaining power than taking care of this country...again, an observation, my observation, based on actions and words out of their own mouths. And this is supported by continuing to say Saddam had nothing to do with terrorism...again demonstrating no concept of the threat. Yes, I do feel strongly, because I love this country and I fear what will happen to her, and all of us, when people in control have no concept of the threat we face. God bless!
I don't usually post here but feel strongly about this one sm
I'm a progressive Dem but I think Hillary is the only way Democrats can lose this election. I don't know a single Dem who likes her, at least in my area (WA state). She is such a divisive character (due to the Bill haters) that "central America" doesn't want her in any way, shape or form. At least that's what I see.
Yes, I am strongly pro-life...
and I have said in numerous posts that I am not against insuring children. And I am NOT. What I am against is taxing all Americans to death to pay for all kinds of programs where the waste is unimaginable. There are thousands if not millions of women who made a living having babies...under Aid for Dependent Children. If you don't believe that, talk to some people in Human Services. They sign up 2nd and 3rd generations on AFDC or whatever they call it now. Those ladies will never work and they tell you they will never work, and I can promise you they are not bettering themselves so that they can keep health care for their children. And if you look at those children, I am thinking not a lot of that check every month goes to taking good care of the kids. My point is, trim the fat on existing programs that obviously are not working...don't make NEW taxes to pay for MORE programs that no one is going monitor either. There is plenty of money floating around out there in wasteful programs that could fund insurance for children without making even MORE taxes. And what I am saying to you is that at some point, the more people who get on programs and out of the work force, the less tax money there is going to be to take care of all the programs. That is all I am saying.

And another thing, you need to read the bill. It does give a lot of leeway for folks who could pay for private insurance for their children if they made it a priority. But why should they, if you and I are going to pay for it for them. Yes, I believe there are some people out there who would like to better themselves but will not so they can keep health care for their children. I can also tell you that there are as many out there who could provide health care for their children but will not because they think it is too high and they choose to spend the money elsewhere. Ugly, but true. So why didn't Congress send the bill to Bush that did not have that loophole provision in it? There is a really good question.
Sorry, strongly disgree.

Do not even get me started.  I blame Clinton for the mess we are in for these banks and mortgage companies.  Should say he started the ball rolling.  I have info on that.  Oh man, time for me to get off the board.  I think he is a liar right through his teeth.  He was caught and yet, everybody was in a trance and denial, but yes, that had to do with his morals and not with him running in office.  Yet your character and moral values seem to go together.  Later all.

Oh but I strongly disagree with you
Homosexual acts are harmful to your health, regardless of the age of the participant. Killing an animal for food isn't harmful? Wow, I bet the animal thinks it hurts quite a bit. ;-) Homosexual acts, if promoted, are harmful to our children, both, mentally and physically. To continue to say they harm no one is a misconception. Homosexuality and race are 2 different issues entirely. There is no comparison.
Yet you are strongly pro-life - don't you care

I'm not trying to attack you, but I think that is a good point.  I care about children in the USA.  I think we need to take better care of them.  I couldn't go to sleep at night with a clear conscience if I didn't want healthcare for all American children.  I think the pro-life cause is a moral issue, and I think the healthcare cause is a moral issue, and I'm surprised that more right wingers don't show more concern for the children that they so wanted to be born.

This bill is for middle-income people - not the poor.  Did you ever think that many poor people stay that way because if they rise up to a higher income bracket they lose their healthcare?  Maybe being able to make $50,000 (or whatever amount it is) and still being able to provide health insurance to their kids will inspire people to get that better job with the better pay.

Regardless of party, they need to be reminded strongly
XX
Strongly agree.....I also am very skeptical of the bill, want it slowed down.....sm
This is huge and there are no do-overs if we do not get this bill right, because it is so huge. We need to act, and I understand why the president is so eager to get things going after the past 8 or 9 years, but we must examine everything, and taken everything out that is not truly essential, necessary, and a proven stimulus....take a deep breath, study hard for another week, and GET IT AS RIGHT AS POSSIBLE! The American people need action, but not rash, irresponsible spending, we have had enough of that. I truly believe in the President, his idealism, his altruism, humanitarianism, and intelligence, but HASTE MAKES WASTE, we all have to hang in there a bit longer and really examine the bill under a microscope. Funny, I watched Meet The Press as usual this morning, and don't think I ever agreed more with the Republican side on some things...whaddya know????
Glad you enjoyed them and glad to see you back!

and I feel like makin *du du duu du du duu* feel like maaa-k-in love to YOU!
ARGH!!

You feel someone should be forced to do something they feel is wrong? sm
Sounds like communism to me.
I do not feel sorry for the 'terrorists', I feel
sorry for those who are (or soon were) held there and are innocent.
I for one am glad AG
some opposing views. I'm all for that. Too often "stalking" gets mentioned when it's really just someone who finds a lot to argue with in someone else's posts - of course they're going to reply if they have something to say. It's usually nothing personal. And even if it becomes that after so much back-and-forth, so what? If a person is arguing with facts and debating relevant issues, the other poster ought to have their facts in line also for a good reply. Challenging isn't "stalking." I think those who fear challenge are those who don't really have a desire to debate at all, or aren't sure of their own information - in which case why are they here in a political forum when there are happy happy recipe exchanges going on a couple of forums over?
Glad to see him go...nm

I'm Glad...
Judith Regan, the woman who wrote the book, claims she contracted with his lawyers that the money went to the kids or she would not have done it. Don't know if that is true or not; that is what I read. I am also glad that Fox dropped it. Pressure on NBC also resulted in the crucifixion-like scene in Madonna's concert being cut. The people do have a voice...we just need to continue to use it.
Yes, and I am very glad
that there are less of our troops dying over there. I guess my point was just that some people (not meaning you, but people on the news) discuss how things are going good in Iraq without always necessarily taking into context how BAD it was. I do recall hearing on MSNBC I think how that even though the number of deaths has gone down in recent months, 2007 was still the deadliest year in the war. I would be curious to see how the number of deaths/injuries now compares to each month/year since the war began.
Glad to see someone else...
has refused to drink the Kool-Aid.

Excellent post with great points, not bashing, threats, scare tactics and hot air. Refreshing these days.
I'm glad -nm

I'm glad you know her so well.
You see her one way, I see her another.  I don't like her, you do, so what's the big deal?  I think she is phony, you think she's sincere.  We'll see.
I'm glad! nm

I'm so glad I don't believe all that s#it.
Or the gum on the bottom of your shoe is an omen of the end of the world because it resembles Satan.

Ooga-booga-booga -
whattabunchavoodoo.
I'm glad you are.............sm
but that is not the case with everyone.
While I am glad
That part of the stimulus was taken out, I don't agree with the fact that the alternative is a depression. We are already walking a razor's edge of a depression. There isn't a whole lot that is going to "save the economy" or the world financial markets. Prices and company stocks were over inflated for many years and each market must reset themselves. With more money being printed and nothing to back it up, we will have hyperinflation probably towards the end of this year. There are a few very respected analysts that are saying September of 2009 is going to be the worst.

I give Obama all the credit in the world for trying to undertake this massive problem but at the same time it is his job. I hope he is able to pull something out of his hat that is fair and right to everyone.
Thank you - I'm glad I was not the only one
I got through the first sentence, but the rest just rambled on and I could not understand what point was being made except that the poster was too happy to call someone a teabagger. I guess that's the "trendy" thing to do now. I still would like to know if she would like me to call her the "c" word and see how she likes it.

Like cuss words that you cannot say on this board I think this is one of those terms that should be banned.
I am glad he is doing SOMETHING
I am willing to give the man a chance. I don't condemn him simply because he is not of "my party."

I do not like the spending at all - but he was not the cause of that spending. He is just trying to "fix" the broken system he was given.

As has been asked numerous times on this board, what better ideas do you have?
YES! Right on GP! Glad to see you again.

Although we do disagree at times, just like I disagree with JTBB sometimes, at least they are normal "conversations."

Thank you. I'm glad someone can understand
Most of the time on these boards I feel like I'm on another planet.
Glad to be back. sm
No I am not walking on eggshells because of the other board. I re-read my post.  I am the daughter of a Command Sergeant Major, from the real old Army, and we did not discuss rank at all; it was not proper at that time.  When we were overseas, we were all Americans and equal; rank, race, religion did not matter, we were all the same - AMERICANS. When I said earlier my dad was "spat upon".  He wasn't but many VN soldiers were; and I was speaking for them.  No one in their right mind would have spat on my dad.  He was infantry, a sharp-shooter, a marksman.  That was his MOS - military occupational specialty.  The second time he went to VN he got two kinds of malaria at once, and he was shot so full of quinine, he had tremors, I probably did not spell it right, probably tremers, he could never hold a gun again. We were stationed in Germany between 1960-1963, and I still don't know the deal.  All I know is there would be a lot of activity all of a sudden in the middle of the night; mom would be up helping him pack, and he would be gone - maybe for a day, maybe for three months, maybe for a year, and he never talked about it.  I did ask him one time when I was a child if he had ever killed anyone.  He teared up and said he had killed many men, but the hardest was that he had to kill a kid who had a grenade in his hand and was trying to kill him.  Anyhow, we got back to the states in late 63, early 64, just in time for the JFK assination; that is when all innocence stopped for me, and I became a bitter person - working on it though. Thanks gals, just got mom to bed, needed to vent.
I'm certainly glad you didn't go into it...

This is a joke, a parody of all the ridiculous right-winger fundamentalists telling us the tsunami is God punishing people who don't think like them, that Katrina looked like a fetus.......blah-blah-blah.

The difference is that this is a JOKE and the other examples are DEAD SERIOUS!!!!!  I hope you understand this better now.

You're welcome, glad
He is an excellent writer. Too bad it often falls on deaf ears and blind eyes. Yes, I agree with you, that people tend to take their news with 30-second soundbites and don't read anymore.
I'm glad you posted this. Thanks! nm
x
Wish I'd seen that! Well, actually glad I didn't.

Gawd,  just think about the possibilities for teenage rebellion reasons when these kids are old enough.  And I thought I had it bad at age 15!!!!!

I tend to see a link in:  Oppression of women = viewing women as baby machines

Mind you, I do think babies are precious but I don't necessarily believe that quantity equals quality.

Some religions foster woman as baby-machines (Catholicism included, unfortunately), some cultures foster it.  But as I said, it's part of the destruction of our world if it continues.  Okay, I'll climb down off my soapbox now.

I'm glad someone is helping.
Shame on this administration!
I'm very glad you're here.
I enjoy reading your posts.  I hope you stay.
Then I'm glad you know Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11

and that they had no WMDs.

Glad to not be a democrat. Please sm

Senators vote on English

33 Senators Voted Against English as America 's Official Language June 6, 2007

On Wed, 6 Jun 2007 23:35:23 -0500, "Colonel Harry Riley USA ret" wrote:

Senators,

Your vote against an amendment to the Immigration Bill 1348, to make English America's official language is astounding. On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America . I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

I don't much care where you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white or some other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United States

Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator... impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warrented.

Worse, 4 of you voting against English as America 's official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.

Those 4 Senators vying to lead America but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.

This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks... unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualifed to serve as President of the United States.

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rock you out of your panties... and preferably, totally out of the United States Senate.

The entire immigration bill is a farce... your action only confirms this really isn't about America ; it's about self-serving politics... despicable at best.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way
I have a really hard time with the religous nut bags who have their own idea of what is right or wrong. Maybe right and wrong is not the correct words. I just wish they would mind their own busness and not push their opionions/viewpoints on other people as though what they say is correct. Like one poster said years ago there was segregation... can't imagine that happening today, just like inter-racial marriage or gay marriage. What is wrong with sharing your love for another person no matter what shape, color, size or sex they are. I definitely think this needs to be changed - period! There should be no question about gay marriage. You love a person and want to get married then that's it you get married. The question is when is some politician going to stand up and do the right thing. So I say live in peace and harmony. Do not tell me how I should and should not live and I won't tell you how you should or should not live. And for pitty's sake - stop making gay marriage a political issue. It is a personal issue between two people and nobody's elses business unless they want to tell you about it. - Okay that's my rant of the day.
Not hardly. I am glad for her support....
but unlike the rest of you, I do not post to support myself. I do have the courage of my convictions and all the bullying and badmouthing you all throw my way only makes me more determined. So pile it on, bullies, pile it on. apparently that is what you need to feel empowered and relevant. Go ahead, knock your socks off. If you are raggin on me you are letting someone else rest.

I'm glad he did those things.
generation that will need his leadership and experiences.
And you better be glad that someone is willing to get in their face....
because that is all they understand, and that is why we have not had another attack in this country. It is precisely THIS kind of thinking that we DO NOT need in the white house. Diplomacy is fine...and many times it works. But your enemies have to know that if hit, you will hit back hard. I have no faith that Barack Obama would act decisively (like Clinton with Khobar Towers, the first world trade center bombing, the COle, and on and on and on). I don't want things like that happening again. I want them sitting back on their heels like they are now. John McCain will keep them there and he won't be having tea with Ahmadinejad without rules. It just shows that Barack Obama has no clue what he is dealing with. No clue.
Well, whatever happened, I am sure glad
nm
Boy am I glad you both left....sm
There's only so much rudeness a person can take.

You call out sam on her posting everything...at least she's nice and civil....

You two...or three...people, are still, just downright rude, under your smug little comments and innuendos, accusing sam of the very same things you're doing.

No wonder people don't like coming here very much anymore, me included....yuck.

Hey sam....glad to see you, but I'm still checking out....have to...sm
type for living...

She was so cool. He couldn't trip her up, could he? The more I see of her, the more impressed I am.

And the whole Greta series this week has been great on Alaska and all the people who know her. We went to Alaska for our honeymoon in 2000, and went through Wasilla....it was a beautiful place, and great people....Real people....No wonder Sarah is such a gem!

Talk to you later....
Thanks, MT....I am glad if I have helped you in any way....
to research on your own and make up your own mind, no matter which candidate you decided to support. Good for you! :)
I too am glad there is something we agree on. sm
Sometimes it takes a personal experience to change our minds, open our eyes. We all need to be less judgemental, open our minds, and explore the possibilities before making decisions and opinions blindly. I believe marijuana should be decriminalized period.
Glad I could amuse you
you still need to get a life. Hope you like that one the second time too.
And I said I would be glad if either of them acted....
you and I differ. I think we are better served if they stay in Washington if for no other reason that to do the job we are still paying them for, as senators, and get the thing fixed. I can wait 2-3 days for the debate. It is not absolutely necessary to the nation's economy that they debate tomorrow night. In my opinion.
I'm just glad she's not a doctor, and I don't
no/msg
Same to ya. I am glad you only have one vote...
although that is not stopping Obama's ACORN cohorts. Signing up Jive Turkey and the like to vote. He will take them however he can get them.
Well, it would if I thought like you....glad I
