But apparently the majority of people
think he is all that, else why would he be our next commander in chief. Good try, just does not work.
It is true for some people, but I don't think it is the majority anymore (sm)
I am white and have many friends who are different races and most of the white people I know, who do not know my other friends necessarily, are not racist. I know many white people who are voting for Obama. I also have a lot of black friends who tell me that a lot of their relatives, mostly older, are very prejudiced against white people. When will people realize that they should look at the person for who they are, not the color of their skin? But truly, I do not think it is any longer the majority who is racist. I think it is mostly older people who have the prejudices and that most people 40s and under are no longer racist, and those who are are generally very unintelligent people. By the way, I am from the deep south.
The majority of the people didn't vote him in because of his polcies
They voted him in because he's black. Plain and simple.

BTW - I sitting here with a nice hot cup of coffee trying to warm up these icy toes of mine. Been in reality a long time. You should come join us.
An overwhelming majority of the country does not agree
x
I don't agree with this. I think the people sm

who do not want to say the pledge should be allowed to be silent or leave the room during while it is recited.  Don't stop everyone.

JMHO.

I agree with that! If more people would do that...
maybe in unison could hold feet to fire. :)
I agree. If two people....sm
want to make that commitment to each other, it's none of my business either.
I am so glad other people agree
I had forgot about that one. And they looted Air Force One, and I also heard they did "unthinkable" things to some of the rooms in the white house that took some major professional cleaners to remove bodily fluids from some of the places when they were upset that Gore didn't win. That might have been a rumor but I wouldn't put it past them. I just don't understand where they came from and why people bow down to them. They are the worst two people to come to Washington since I don't know who. I could understand some of it if they came from a long line of politicians like the Kennedy's or other political families of generations, but these are two individuals (both lawyers) who crawled over and stepped on everyone they needed to to get where they are today. I just don't understand why people worship them.
Dont agree. It is people like you along with the
nm
I agree with OP. I was just at party with people sm
from both sides and everyone was respectful. OK, it was family party, but still. There was respect for both sides.

We are the UNITED STATES and we should start acting like it.
Why are people clueless?! Because they don't agree with YOU?!
xx
I tend to agree with the greediness of people...

any responsible homeowner would READ the contract. We sat down with our mortgage company and read each item line by line so we could fully understand what we were signing. I don't feel sorry for those who bought and now claim they didn't understand what they were signing, didn't realize they had an ARM loan or that a balloon payment was coming up. Also, anyone who does get bailed out should have to put up 20% or more in cash the next time they try to buy a home. Too many people used their home as a piggy bank, thinking it was free money.

I agree....simply because what people will say to a caller...
or even on this board or to a friend even...when that person gets to the point of voting...I am not sure all those saying to the pollsters "Obama" will actually vote for him. Remember the exit polls for Kerry...it looked like he was winning everywhere by large margin and when the votes came in...not so. We are not going to know until election night. And I still think it will be close, but I don't think Obama has it sewn up by a long shot.
Again my point is made - you just like arguing and bashing people that don't agree with you
Your bringing up a dead subject while shouting it at us. You started an abortion post on 8/25 and bashed everyone who didn't agree with you, and you were bashing people on 8/22 about the same subject. Everytime someone brought up their viewpoint you be arguing or bashing them. The point I (and others) are making is you keep bringing this up again and again and again and again and when people don't agree with you you bash them, then when they come back to say something you bash them even more. Then when we finally get a break and have new topics, you start another post about the abortion thing again. The abortion issue is getting tiring for all. We know what abortions are, how horrible they are, and we know how babies are made and the stages of their lives (we are MT's and all took the course) but you feel the need to keep it up and up and up and it's getting real old. Besides that it looks like you are posting under other names and then answering yourself.

I want to read people's opinions and questions of issues we are facing. Abortion is not one of them for most of us. Let it go and move on. What I am trying to say is that while I'd like to hear your viewpoints on other issues enough with the abortion and try and not be so argumentative all the time.

Yes, we all have the right to post things, but it looks like you are posting just for the sake of arguing and we're all getting tired of it.

So go ahead bash me some more.
Gourdpainter, I agree with you. So do most people since Obama is ahead of McCain.

McCain doesn't have any solutions except trying to get Palin to tear down Obama with her big mouth.

I agree people should leaving their freakin QA'ing out of the board
x
I agree. How many people listen to sound bites, read just the headlines, or
listen to the partisan radio/TV personalities, and then go out and make up their minds. It only takes 10 minutes to visit a candidate's website and read their campaign platform. People need to stop expecting to be spoonfed information and take some initiative in this process.

I heard someone condemning Senator Obama's speech yesterday. He was simply repeating as fact something a conservative media personality had said. This person had not listened to the speech nor read a transcript of it. He had simply let someone else make up his mind for him.

Usually, the majority is right!!!!
.
A majority of 2.
Does it get anymore pathetic?
The majority, as you put it, did not even

know who they were voting for. They heard one thing: CHANGE. Yet, change is not what we are getting. It's politics as usual. O does not know how to lead. He only knows how to follow. He is letting people like Schumer, Pelosi, Reid, and countless others walk all over him. He has no clout. He is a lamb being led to the slaughter, yet he doesn't realize it yet.

If he wants to be a good president, he would stop the antics going on now, but I really don't think he knows how to do it. It's a shame, too, because although I did not vote for him, I had hope.

Check photos of him lately. He's not looking so confident anymore. He is starting to think he got in over his head and unless he takes control of the dems, he will go down in history as a president worse than Jimmy Carter.

JMHO

And this has WHAT to do with the fact that the majority..sm
of jobs paying minimum wage are not held by teenagers looking for extra money to buy ipods.

I'm waiting scarecrow with a brain....
The majority of the military

have always been conservative.  However, many military members and veterans are changing their minds after what has taken place in recent years.  Watch the results of the election and see which way the military goes and compare that to elections in the past.

Because he will likely have a majority in Congress....
and THAT is how you get things passed.
No, Majority knows O could use those qualities
Remember TACT? DIPLOMACY? 2 things that are important qualities in a leader. Especially if you ever want your country to be taken seriously again. Right now it's a laughing stock.
You still here? -being in the majority makes you
nm
The majority of them truly believe in their mission.

I'm simply not in a position to judge all that stuff.  There's far more going on behind the scenes than we know.  That's not to give Bush (or any politician, for that matter) a free pass.

The big threat approaching is Israel & Iraq.  A war there is inevitable (& soon), and they're a huge ally of ours.  The not only deserve our help, but will likely need it.

The Majority of Citizens?
Let's see tomorrow morning.
The moral majority is neither
all that moral, or the majority.  Don't assume who the majority is until they cast their vote.
What I meant was when the majority
of people want same sex marriage, the measure will pass. Until then, they will just have to keep putting it to a vote. We the people have the right to decide what we want; majority rules and most don't want same sex marriage. Have a civil union, have the same benefits, etc, but don't call it marriage.
And just how do you propose to know what the majority
This is exactly the kind of post that completely undermines any credibility that you might perceive that you have.

Speak for yourself. You know nothing of anyone else's reasons for voting for our NEW PRESIDENT. You're going to have a pretty miserable 8 years ahead of you unless you stop beating this old, dead horse.
you don't even realize who the majority are
You seem to fail to remember that not everyone in America voted this election.

69,456,897 people voted for the O

234,367,743 did not

I would not say the majority of America voted for him. He didn't even get 1/3 of America's votes.

He won by a majority...unlike the last guy!
So what's your point?
Oh, but the majority of Americans DOES
More than the majority of Americans still support OUR LEADER - thank you very much
Uh uh definitely with the majority of the vote ...

And with the great help of ACORN.  In the county that I live in, there was a man who was registered by ACORN, voted 3 times and has been deceased since 1986.

Majority rules not the minority
as long as someone is given the option not to participate then no one is getting hurt. If they are the only one in the class that does not want to say it then that's life. We can't cower majority traditions and beliefs to make every individual feel included. We'd truly have chaos then, because every one's feelings are different.
but I'm sure the vast majority believes
that life begins at conception, however, I know I'm not going to change your mind, so I'll leave it at that.
So did the majority of Congress, Dem and Repub...
or nothing would have passed. Sheesh. You act like McCain passed every bill all by his lonesome. Let's be real here.
I especially liked the majority of votes to Obama
that was interesting also. Lets get democrats back in the white house for peace and prosperity to ALL - :)
The democrats have had the majority for 2 years...
and they have not turned it around. I repeat...if you want socialism...vote for Obama. It is as simple as that.
the majority of chevy vehicles
foreign parts
no, majority was INTIMIDATED by Hitler.

Majority of 2. Why not organize a new wing
after November, they're going to need some new blood, new direction and a platform makeover.
Just shows that majority of USA no longer truly
nm
Impeached by a democratic majority?
What YOU smokin?? lol.
Thats just it. Majority of Americans voting in this
nm
You said it oldtimer! Obama won by majority and
It's time for people to back the new president and be patriotic. Stop the same old vitriol.

How many times has majority been wrong?
nm
You are insulting the majority of Americans
I think your mentality (the sore loser, pouting in a corner type) is the one that needs considering...
Pop 8 was vote of MAJORITY of citizens who said NO...

Roe versus Wade majority and problems with the law
Actually, I've read where if put to a vote polls have shown that Roe versus Wade would be overturned. Whether abortion is right or wrong aside many people, including many liberal lawyers say that RVW is a badly written law in the first place.
Majority backs GIs, not Iraq War...see link
Interesting poll, allbeit before the death of Zarqawi and approval of ministers of the police and army.
