I have like $500 (or did have) in a 403-b from another job...

but I've never really thought about 401-k with past jobs, especially with these internet companies.  But I just started a new job with a local hospital three months ago and I've been told now's the time to jump in with both feet and start putting money into the 403-b.  I'm 40 and have about 25 years left to work, so it may be well worth it for me.  My mom and step-dad, who are avid investors, have really taken a hit, but they've been advising me that now is the time to start investing.  They are pretty savvy, so I think I'm going to go ahead and take the plunge.  I'm nervous, but since I'm one of the lucky ones that didn't lose much, I don't really have much to lose now by starting to invest.
