Isn't it sad

Especially after watching the HBO series John Adams (it's on DVD if you didn't see it on HBO), and watching the history channel when they have specials about past presidents (historical figures I mean) - last night on History Channel I watched the story of Andrew Jackson. What interesting men our past presidents were. They seemed like honest and decent men and fought to make this country great. They cared about the people who lived in this country. Now they only care about themselves. I'd like to see specials on all the presidents (up until Carter that is - I know the history from that time til now) and try to figure out when they started being corrupt, because each year it just gets worse and worse and worse and nobody in Washington seems to be fighting for us Americans. They say pretty little slogans/sayings like "I feel your pain" or "Yes we can", but in reality they do nothing for us to help us. Anyway...as a side note DH and I did not know this but in the biography last night they said Andrew Jackson was the only president to ever pay off the national debt. Another side note if your interested - on February 16th the History Channel is going to have a show (movie or whatever you call it) called "Stealing Lincoln's body". I only caught bits and pieces and not sure if its a true story or not but they say that after Lincoln was buried someone dug up the body and held is body for ransom. Sounds more like its not true, but the story looks interesting. Evidently they are able to recreate a lot of what was happening, and they are going to be showing Lincoln (a recreation) walking around and stuff that happened. Anyway...looks really interesting.

I too am willing to see what the O does, but I will have my eyes open. The country needs something good to happen and I hope it does, but at the same time I'm keeping my guard up and will be paying close attention to what he does and what impact it will have on us.

I have heard that he wants to change the Declaration of Independence. I find that totally and truly un-patriotic and well treasonous is I guess a word I would use. But I find the people who voted for him (not all but most) are equally un-patriotic as they don't care if he destroys the Constitution. I'm sure many of them do not even know history or care about why the Declaration was written. He evidently does not know the history of the country and does not know what our founding fathers were fighting for. However, it doesn't surprise me because if he changes it he can make himself King. I've already heard that there is someone (forget if they are a senator, congressman, or what), but he is trying to get the laws changed so that Obama will be the only president this country has for the rest of Obama's life. Seeing as they've already changed it because now we have someone who was not born on American soil as president, it is very sad that they too might just get away with that. I just see American being destroyed little by little and it is sad. The country used to be great and I wish I had lived in those days, but now it's just shameful.
