your bad leader is anothers good leader
There are many bad leaders of countries..It is not our place to invade and take over the countries..Heck, lots of the world think we have a bad leader causing bad things in the world..Would we allow other countries to invade America and take us over cause Bush is a bad murderous leader?  We had NO RIGHT to invade Iraq, none whatsoever..and who decides who is a bad leader?  Your bad leader is a wonderful leader to another..We need to take care of America..and these hurricanes show that..My mother always told me charity begins at home.
Cannot equate the two.
How would he decide on which ones to attend?
Some families would be offended as every loss is equal.
However, the President's job is to run the country not attend funerals. Did Nixon or Johnson attend any of the funerals for Vietnam?  Did Clinton for Somalia?  I don't think this is an appropriate question at this time, or really any time.  How do you choose?
I don't think you can equate the two. (Long - sorry)
A tubal pregnancy is a medical emergency endangering the lives of both mother and embryo. Unfortunately, modern medicine does not yet provide any capacity to salvage the embryo, but the mother can be saved by removal of the blocked tube or removal of the embryo from the tube.

I've read articles describing nontubal ectopic intraabdominal pregnancies in which the embryo was able to implant near a blood-rich source such as the liver; in this rare instance, the fetus could be maintained long enough for successful delivery via laparotomy. If that were the case, I would certainly try to maintain the pregnancy for as long as possible to allow the fetus to reach viability. Interesting article here about an abdominal pregnancy not diagnosed until 38 weeks gestation - http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3225/is_n1_v41/ai_8773331.

Just as a side note, the Catholic Church, which is officially staunchly anti-abortion despite the behavior of some of its members, makes an interesting distinction in terms of tubal pregnancies. It is considered morally licit - okay - to treat a tubal pregnancy with salpingectomy because the death of the embryo is considered an unfortunate side-effect but not the intent of the intervention, which is to remove the blocked section of tube to prevent rupture. The use of methotrexate to induce passage of the embryo, however, is considered illicit because this is considered to imply a direct intent to kill/abort the embryo. I've never been able to see a moral difference between the two, as the fetus cannot survive and either option saves the mother. Does anyone here believe one is more morally correct than the other?
You equate infertility with being gay?
nm
First of all, you cannot equate gun ownership with abortion. sm
It's like the analogy above about a wart and a child. It's by pidgeon holding abortion in these terms that legal abortion was passed in the first place.  Abortion is not a *right* in my opinion.  It is murder.  Since when does anyone have the right to murder another human being?  Oh, I know, life doesn't start until the first breath.  Well, that's your belief.  The fact that God may not have willed the way a person came into the world, does not mean He has not planned a purpose  for that individual.  Long before anyone is conceived, God’s purpose for that life is foreseen.
So, you don't equate Obama with economy?
xx
Exactly, you don't equate future president with
xx
sounds like you equate belief with fanaticism.

This teacher has her nerve.
1. Graduate from high school.
Good, I agree.

2. Get a job - keep it, no matter how much money.

So she would have her students stay at McDonalds the rest of their lives, no matter how much money they make. Don't strive for anything more (ya know, some older people have this mindset).

3. Never have a baby out of wedlock.

This makes me a bad person.

4. Get married and stay married.

I hope she explained to them not to stay in an abusive relationship just for the sake of staying married.

Aside from #1, these are definitely not things that you want to have drilled into a 7th graders mind.

Definitely don't stop at the principal, they back up the teachers in most cases. BTDT.

The case was about a teacher
There was a case where they were trying to ban a teacher from wearing a cross.

maybe he became a spelling teacher
HA HA HA
Like my teacher used to say, if you have nothing worth
xx
This probably all started with a 7-yo misunderstanding his teacher.nm

In the case you gave if the teacher said...sm
*I'm not in any way trying to tell you what you should believe of think but I am going to put this out there for you thing about...Some people believe Jesus Christ died and was born again for the sins of man.*

I still wouldn't see the problem. You have to listen to the entire statement. He said pointedly that he was not trying to tell the students how they should believe. But, if all you got over the newswaves were the butt end *Jesus died and was born again for the sins of man* then the entire point would be lost anyway.

That said, I think this teacher needs to find a job in a political science class where his comments would be more appropriate. I don't think he should be fired but a) moved to a political science class or b) told to stick to the cirriculum. I don't think either will be enough for those out for blood on this case.

My *teacher* has provided the Bible...
the same Bible that says Do Unto Others is very clear about homosexuality. It is called an abomination. Not too many ways you can take that. Therefore, the twinge you feel about homosexual marriage probably was not caused by bad cheese. But, as we all know, no one but you will have to explain your decisions when you stand before Him, and no one but me will have to explain my decisions when I stand before Him.

God bless.
That teacher also burned a cross into a student's arm.

4th grade teacher's letter to Obama

April 17, 2009

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington , DC 20500

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an  adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States ... You are not responsible to the people of any other country on Earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the people of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States?

This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You didn't show Great Britain, our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia .. How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You can't find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey ... You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves.

What's the matter with you? I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you.

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members - on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves?

I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million - not a bad take.

Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you.

I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Sincerely,
Every real American

Teacher Probed Over Bush Remarks (see article)

I'm glad we didn't have any whiners in our political science class in high school.  Our teacher was one that provoked thought, and this was during Clinton's presidency.   I think that's the whole point as unless you are a Bush loyalist who thinks any comment not praising him is against the law.

Teacher Probed Over Bush Remarks

Fast Fact

A student recorded about 20 minutes of Bennish's class during a Feb. 1st discussion about President Bush's State of the Union speech and gave the recording to his father, who complained to the principal.

(CBS/AP) About 150 students at a suburban Denver high school walked out of class to protest a decision to put a teacher on administrative leave while the school investigates remarks he allegedly made in class about President Bush, including a comment that some people compare Mr. Bush to Adolf Hitler.

The protest came Thursday as administrators began investigating whether Overland High School teacher Jay Bennish violated a policy requiring balancing viewpoints in the classroom, Cherry Creek School District spokeswoman Tustin Amole said.

It was peaceful. The students yelled, but there was no fighting, Amole said. Most of them did return to class.

The suspension, says Amole, is a paid leave and is not a punitive situation... It just gives us the opportunity to talk to him, to talk to students.

Overland High student Stacy Caruso says Bennish hasn't done anything wrong. In the classroom, says Caruso, everyone has their right to speak their opinion and he's not forcing any opinions on anyone.

Another student, Derek Belloni, tells CBS News Station KCNC-TV reporter Rick Sallinger that Bennish is out of line.

He's supposed to be teaching geography, says Belloni, and yet he's pushing a liberal agenda trying to convert kids to his side of the spectrum.

A telephone number listed for Bennish, who has been teaching social studies and American history at Overland since 2000, had been disconnected.

Sophomore Sean Allen recorded about 20 minutes of Bennish's class during a Feb. 1 discussion about President Bush's State of the Union speech and gave the recording to his father, who complained to the principal, Amole said.

After listening to the tape, it's evident the comments in the class were inappropriate. There were not adequate opportunities for opposing points of view, she said.

The student who made the tape agrees.

I've been his class four weeks, says Allen, and I've never heard another side.

Deborah Fallin, spokeswoman for the Colorado Education Association, which represents about 37,000 union teachers, said it will not represent Bennish because he is not a member.

He's terribly upset about the fact that he can't teach right now, says David Lane, an attorney who is now representing Bennish. He's so upset and I am now his lawyer and we will be going to federal court.

No, both plus yours are false.
On intercountry adoption you will find the following: "...the laws of the child’s country of birth govern all activity in that country including the adoptability of individual children as well as the adoption of children in the country in general"...that country of birth being the United States. It does not matter in the slightest the hoops Obama's mom and adopted father had to jump through to satisfy INDONESIAN immigration law, designation of religion or school admission requirements. Dual citizenship, triple citizenship...whatever...does NOT and WILL NEVER cancel his US citizenship.

false accusations
You know, back in the late 1990's, I belonged to a political group and there was one person who started off posting okay, as the hours went on, her posts grew more and more illogical, like how yours do.  Well, when I finally befriended her, she confided she was an alcoholic and when she first sat down, she was okay, as she drank, her posts did not make sense.  Kind of like your posts.  I have told you over and over, I NEVER wished rotting in hell to anyone on any of these boards, I wish it still for Bush and all that got us into this never-ending war against *terrorism*.  Then you state I called the three cohorts three stooges, nope, not me.  The thing that cracks me up, is the proof is in the pudding.  The posts are here for anyone to read and see that your accusations are false.  So, why dont you just put that bottle down, its only gonna give you major organ damage in the long run.  A nice cup of green tea can be just as relaxing.
False beliefs
On the flip side, what good will the war do us when we lose our house, our jobs, can no longer afford the food in the stores, can't buy gas to get to work (if you still have a job), you and your family now have to find a campground or shelter to live at (or worse) and the banks close and now you can't get any of your money out that you may have in there (this has already happened somewhere - would have to research again to find the exact location but its here in the US). This is exactly the scare tactics/agenda McCain is trying to push (gotta keep up the war, keep up the war, everyone is the enemy, lets keep it going for 100 years) - give me a break! They are trying to get enough people to be afraid (which is in itself a form of terrorism) that we are going to be attacked again. You know what...get our troops home and we will have more troops to protect our borders and increase security here in the US) Well first the economy is the most important issue (at least to me), unless of course you plan to pack up your stuff and go join the service and fight over there. If the economy collapses where are you going to be. How bout your parents/grandparents who cannot just pick up so easily and move to another area. McCain keeps pushing the war issue because he has no clue about the economy. He doesn't even remain consistent with his issue on gay marriage. My feeling is I don't care if George & John down the street or Mary & Sue down the road want to get married - that will not effect my day-to-day life however the economy does, my job does, eating and paying bills does affect me each day. McCain was at a meeting and he said he was for gay marriage, then 11 minutes later he said he was not for gay marriage. He's too old and out of touch with reality. Do you really want someone with his temper ready to hit the launch button in in whim? He is not a stable man (in my opinion).
false. Throw something

else against the wall, may be it will stick.

True and false
True - last 8 years were not good (including the last two with a democratic congress). With that said I was glad there were two new people running and not Bush again.

Attractiveness is a major component for success.

Charisma can be successful but very very dangerous. Charisma mesmerizes people. When people are mesmerized they don't think clearly. They fall into a hypnotic state (which Obama is very good at), and you can tell them anything and they will believe it. Just look at all the people who actually believe Obama is the Messiah or Moses.

As for the qualifications. Obama doesn't have any unless you call being a charismatic speaker experienced. After all he got a lot of people to believe that being a community organizer was enough experience to be president. I also found it interesting Joe Biden and Bill Clinton both said he lacked the experience to be president.
This is a false rumor

WHAT A LEADER!!!!
Did New Orleans Catastrophe Have to Happen? 'Times-Picayune' Had Repeatedly Raised Federal Spending Issues

Even though Hurricane Katrina has moved well north of the city, the waters may still keep rising in New Orleans. That's because Lake Pontchartrain continues to pour through a two-block-long break in the main levee, near the city's 17th Street Canal. With much of the Crescent City some 10 feet below sea level, the rising tide may not stop until it's level with the massive lake.

New Orleans had long known it was highly vulnerable to flooding and a direct hit from a hurricane. In fact, the federal government has been working with state and local officials in the region since the late 1960s on major hurricane and flood relief efforts. When flooding from a massive rainstorm in May 1995 killed six people, Congress authorized the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project, or SELA.

Over the next 10 years, the Army Corps of Engineers, tasked with carrying out SELA, spent $430 million on shoring up levees and building pumping stations, with $50 million in local aid. But at least $250 million in crucial projects remained, even as hurricane activity in the Atlantic Basin increased dramatically and the levees surrounding New Orleans continued to subside.

Yet after 2003, the flow of federal dollars toward SELA dropped to a trickle. The Corps never tried to hide the fact that the spending pressures of the war in Iraq, as well as homeland security -- coming at the same time as federal tax cuts -- was the reason for the strain. At least nine articles in the Times-Picayune from 2004 and 2005 specifically cite the cost of Iraq as a reason for the lack of hurricane- and flood-control dollars.

Newhouse News Service, in an article posted late Tuesday night at The Times-Picayune Web site, reported: No one can say they didn't see it coming. ... Now in the wake of one of the worst storms ever, serious questions are being asked about the lack of preparation.

In early 2004, as the cost of the conflict in Iraq soared, President Bush proposed spending less than 20 percent of what the Corps said was needed for Lake Pontchartrain, according to a Feb. 16, 2004, article, in New Orleans CityBusiness.

The 2004 hurricane season was the worst in decades. In spite of that, the federal government came back this spring with the steepest reduction in hurricane and flood-control funding for New Orleans in history. Because of the proposed cuts, the Corps office there imposed a hiring freeze. Officials said that money targeted for the SELA project -- $10.4 million, down from $36.5 million -- was not enough to start any new jobs.

There was, at the same time, a growing recognition that more research was needed to see what New Orleans must do to protect itself from a Category 4 or 5 hurricane. But once again, the money was not there. As the Times-Picayune reported last Sept. 22:

That second study would take about four years to complete and would cost about $4 million, said Army Corps of Engineers project manager Al Naomi. About $300,000 in federal money was proposed for the 2005 fiscal-year budget, and the state had agreed to match that amount. But the cost of the Iraq war forced the Bush administration to order the New Orleans district office not to begin any new studies, and the 2005 budget no longer includes the needed money, he said.

The Senate was seeking to restore some of the SELA funding cuts for 2006. But now it's too late.

One project that a contractor had been racing to finish this summer: a bridge and levee job right at the
17th Street Canal, site of the main breach on Monday.

The Newhouse News Service article published Tuesday night observed, The Louisiana congressional delegation urged Congress earlier this year to dedicate a stream of federal money to Louisiana's coast, only to be opposed by the White House. ... In its budget, the Bush administration proposed a significant reduction in funding for southeast Louisiana's chief hurricane protection project. Bush proposed $10.4 million, a sixth of what local officials say they need.

Local officials are now saying, the article reported, that had Washington heeded their warnings about the dire need for hurricane protection, including building up levees and repairing barrier islands, the damage might not have been nearly as bad as it turned out to be.

AND THIS IS MY OWN TAKE, THE REASON PEOPLE ARE DYING BY THE MINUTE, NO FOOD, NO WATER, NO SANITATION, NO COMMUNICATIONS - IT IS ALL WRAPPED UP A WORLD AWAY IN IRAQ.  THERE IS STILL ONLY ONE ROAD INTO NEW ORLEANS, THE REST HAVE TO COME BY CHOPPER, BUT BOAT.  BUT WHERE ARE OUR CHOPPERS, MANPOWER AND BOATS?  THEY ARE OVER IN IRAQ WHEN WE NEED THEM HERE, YESTERDAY.  DID YALL CATCH THE STUPID SOB BEING INTERVIEWED BY DIANE SAWYER ON GMA?  HE SAYS ALL LOOTERS SHOULD BE DEALT WITH AGGRESSIVELY.  IN MY OPINION THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LOOTERS WHO ARE TRYING TO FIND A BOTTLE OF LIQUID, OR FOOD, THAN THOSE WHO ARE LOOTING GUNS AND JEWELRY.  HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH AN IDIOT?  IS HOPE IN SITE?

Fox was the leader with

pushing the Rev garbage and trying to drum up the Ayres story.  They are devoted to destroying his candidacy.  I have seen them throw slurs at him in just mentioning where he was campaigning in a day -- little asides. They did that story about Obama throwing flags in the garbage.  I don't believe any non-republican should appear on their network.  I believe they have a right to do whatever they want on that station, but don't lie and say they are impartial. I believe that people who like that kind of stuff (The Factor and Ann Coulter) should be able to watch it; just don't go spreading the distortions as truth.  Palin is not answering to any journalists.  If she is qualified she can handle Chris Mathews just like every other politician. Everyone has to go on Meet the Press - people want to see her speak.

I think Andrea Mitchell is a repub - I'm not sure - but she would definitely give Sp a fair shake with fair questions.

I would not say that O is a non-leader

Of course he's no leader, he's a follower. Look at all the low lifes he was hanging out with, sitting in church with... please!! This guy is a joke.

You're right...anyone thinking he's a leader is definitely dreaming!

He knows nothing about executive decision making...AT ALL!

False charge exposed
RE: Obama filed lawsuit that "bullied" banks into giving risky loans.

Buycks-Roberson vs CitiBank Federal Savings Bank 1994. This was a class action lawuit which sought to challenge the practice of redlining, based on the 14th Amendment requirement of "fair and equal treatment for all citizens." The lawsuit charged that CitiBank rejected loan applications of minority applicants while approving loan applications filed by white applicants with similar financial characteristics and credit histories. This was settled out of court. Some class members received cash payments and CitiBank revised its discriminatory lending practice policies.

The action was brought against a single bank…CitiBank, though redlining was a widespread practice at the time. Obama DID NOT FILE this lawsuit. He was a junior member of an 8-member team that worked on the case. The lead attorney for CitiBank does not recall ever seeing Obama in the court during the proceedings. Obama charged a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes for his work on the case for reviewing some documents before a deposition and appeared ONCE before the judge to request an extension of time for filing a response to a motion in the case.

This decision did not "force banks" to do anything except to process minority loan applications the same as they were processing loans to white applicants. If this outcome in any way contributed to the mortgage crisis some 14 years later, it would be based on the fact that the banks were already handing out those "bad loans" hand-over-fist to the white applicants…a practice they agreed to extend to ALL applicants as "fair and equal treatment" under the 14th Amendment.

Once the facts get a thorough look-see, it becomes evident that the charges the McCain camp are trying to lay on Obama are (surprise, surprise) patently false.

Like I posted above, this is flat out false
He knows there is no way in heck he can do this. Like I said above, a state representative told me they don't even get those plans like the Senators do and other high officials in the white house and you won't be getting the choice of one either. He said the cost to us would be trillions of dollars to pay for it, those with insurance they are now paying for won't even be allowed to get on board, which he said Obama knows means those on the welfare roll will be the ones he will be trying to get the better healthcare plan for. Well, Obama must be in lah lah land because how are they going to pay for this plan on welfare? They won't.....you and I will but WE won't be getting that plan.

Beware of false prophets!
Thanks for the vote of confidence in a country I still believe in! Keep that divisive attitude - it will serve you well.
And the false prophets name is Obama
Oh, and your welcome, especially since the O keeps dividing the country and not keeping his promises about being the "only" candidate that will bring both democrat & republicans together and have them all on his cabinet, when the only ones he's bringing in are the democratic nazi socialists.

You believe in this country? Do you not see what's happening all around us. Even the O is telling us its going to get worse. Is that what you have confidence in? Sounds like one of those overused phrases that don't mean anything like "yes we can" (i.e., yes we can ruin the country) or "hope" (i.e. hope everyone else will be too focused on AI to see what damage can be done).

Actually the crats are the ones with the "divisive" attitute. Nothing more divisive than bringing only crats to the table.

We'd all be a little more hopeful if he would keep his campaign promises.

nope, not talking down at all.

I don't need to get over myself, and I don't hate and I don't have intolerance EXCEPT for when someone claims to be Christian and does otherwise.

I love all the kindness and tolerance he has shown to the millions of unborn babies who will die thanks to him. SOOO kind! And he was definitely kind as he bowed down to a foreign leader. He'll be so kind as to willingly sell us all to the highest bidder. Can't wait!

There are so many false statements in your post...
Afghans are not Arabs

Arabs cannot get along among themselves? Neither can Republicans and Democrats.

Obama cannot withdraw troops in Iraq as fast as he thought because the situation changed. The Taliban in Pakistan is getting stronger. Already during his campaign O said he will send more troops to Afghanistan.

Waterboarding IS torture.

The beheadings started after the Abu Ghraib torture pictures were published.

Hamas is O's heritage? That's a little farfetched. In addition Hamas is militant, Obama is not.

Hamas is Netanyahu's counterpart. Tot-for-tat. Both are extremists. Both want the same: Netanyahu wants whole Palestine for Israel, Hamas wants whole Palestine for Palestine.

Will never happen! The only solution, aleady accepted by Israel, the Palestinians, teh Arabs and the US is the 2-state solution.

The Palestinian president Abbas did not accept the proposal of Netanyahu for a 2-state solution as the conditions set forth by Netanyahu were ridiculous and inacceptable for the Palestinians.

Netanyahu's reaction: Again, immediate bombing of Gaza.

I made it through your foxy post, full of faulty statements.

I noticed that you mentioned at least 5 times regarding JTBB...'come on, JTBB, you are smarter than that...' Fozy, foxy, is this your MO (this means modus operandi? it's Latin) this gives me the creeps...

what do you call a leader

who keeps proposing things -- put off convention, put off debates -- and everyone just ignores him and goes about their business.  Not much of a leader.

what do you call a leader....
who puts his interests above those of the country?
I was a leader in the Army
Serving in the Army, I know what it is like to be a leader. It not something you learn overnight and doesn't come automatically. It takes years to become a good leader and your actions determine whether or not you are one. A leader exhibits certain qualities (confidence, self-discipline, and intelligence to name a couple). To be a good leader you must listen to many. Communicate with your peers for advice to make the best informed decision. You need to back your people up. You need to stick by them and stick up for them. You need to treat them with respect. You need to be the first to put your foot down on enemy territory and the last to take your foot off. You need to have a vision and see the big picture. You need to communicate effectively and find common ground to work together. You need to be able to motivate and inspire, and most importantly hold yourself to the highest of standards. And you never ever quit. Quitting is not an option. I could probably go on at length about being a leader.

The post above has nothing to do with being a leader. Putting off a debate in the times that we are going through so that you can go back to Washington to do your job and help to fix the problem is the responsible thing to do, which goes to show again that Sen. John McCain is a truly responsible leader. He is putting the American people before his own self interest. This crisis must be resolved before anything further can go on. How do you expect to tackle any of the other issues if we can't even get our own country back on track.

Sen John McCain is a true leader. He is telling us it should not fall upon us to bail out the execs while they walk away with millions, and he is the first to put his campaigning on hold to do this. This is the same courage he showed when he was in a POW camp and would not leave before the other soldiers in the camp. Sen. McCain stands up for what is right and will not quit until a solution has been set. He and Gov. Sarah Palin have proven they are not afraid to go against the "good ol boys", while Sen Obama goes along with the good ol boys. If Sen Obama would let the people know that the money he received as a kickback from FMFM he would be paying back would give me a little more confidence that he does care about the people, but Obama, Dodd, Kerry and others (and yes some republicans) are not about to hand back any of the money.

Sen Obama is a smooth talker and that is about all. He tells you what you want to hear but he does not follow through. He is just one more politician giving us a line of hooey thinking he has us fooled (obvious he does have some fooled) but luckily others see through him.

Also, not sure what TV station you watched but Sen McCain did not put off the convention. It went on just as it planned to exactly the dates it was supposed to. Just like the Democratic convention.
What I want is a leader who understands
Palin flunks that test on multiple levels. She does not even have a grip on the duties of the office she is running for...much like Cheney. VPs take over in the event of the death, resignation, or removal of the president. They preside over the senate and break tie votes. They act only as an agent for the president and do not hold any EXECUTIVE powers. They preside over and certify official electoral college vote counts. On some occasions they are called upon by the president for advice, meet with heads of state (God forbid) and attend state functions and funerals. That ALL they do. There is no "flexibility" conferred by the Constitution in this regard, despite her claims to the contrary. She has already shown herself to be interested in MORE than what that office has to offer.

In terms of troopergate, the investigation was not a popularity referendum on the brother-in-law or the trooper she fired for not firing her brother-in-law. Palin clearly had a conflict of interest regarding the outcome of her sister's divorce/custody proceedings. It is customary in the US court system that the outcome of divorces and custody matters are decided in the family civil court system...not at the heavy hand of the governor's office exerting influence and abusing the of power of the office to influence the outcome of the decision. That is what she sought to do when she tried to get her brother-in-law fired....influence the custody decision. She sought to bypass the legal system and take matters into her own hands. That, my dear, is abuse of power. Laws apply to all of us all the time....not just when they suit us, and Palin showed complete disregard for the system and for the people who voted her into office when she decided to assume the role of judge, jury and executioner.

Seems like the investigation saw it that way too. This is a character issue that goes straight to the essence of integrity and judgment...Palin flunked, and in view of her previous record, this comes as no big surprise. It was not the first time she abused her position and if elected, it will not be the last.

And a leader who is actually not intimidated when

Another outstanding leader of the GOP!

South Carolina GOP activist and former chairman of the state elections commission Rusty DePass has apologized for saying a gorilla that escaped from a zoo was an "ancestor" of Michelle Obama.

The controversy started when FITSNews, a local politics Website, obtained a screengrab of DePass's comment on Facebook.

After an aide to state Attorney General Henry McMaster detailed the escape of the gorilla from Columbia's Riverbanks Zoo, DePass responded with a comment: "I'm sure it's just one of Michelle's ancestors - probably harmless."

DePass later admitted to WIS News that he was referring to Michelle Obama and said, "I am as sorry as I can be if I offended anyone. The comment was clearly in jest."

DePass, who was a county co-chair for Rudy Giuliani's 2008 campaign, supported the push to impeach President Bill Clinton in the late 90s, writing in an op-ed for The State, "Do Republicans have higher moral standards than Democrats?"

Agree also. He is a leader who wants everyone to
