OMG! You actually believe this?

You actually believe that we need to be forced to give? "if people need to be forced to give so be it?" So be it? So be it?????? I'm repeating that because I'm still stunned that you think that way. That is the most ludicrous statement I've ever heard. That's what someone says as they are holding a gun to you robbing you!

You made the statement "Charity begins at home", but you don't even do the research to find out what that means. It means "one's own family comes before any other responsibility". The idea of the proverb can be found in the Bible. What that means is that people need to take care of their family first and then give what they can. That means give from your heart. In church we always gave 10% to the church and they used the money to help the needy families in the area. Maybe instead of stealing from americans they should start taking from the churches.

Another point is that if we keep paying more and more taxes to fund the government-assisted programs Obama want to support, where will the money come from to pay down the deficit. I thought that's what our tax money was suppose to go to. Not line the pockets of the wealthy americans that already have more than they can give.

To give to charity should be done from people who can afford to give and want to give. Not being told you have to give whether you like it or not. You starve and can't afford to live in your house anymore but you WILL give more of your money to government assisted programs - "so be it". That sounds like socialism/communism at it's finest. You know what, I think you'd be very happy living in that country called Cuba. I hear they have some fine properties for sale for you.

BTW - what you described above is far from "human decency". Plus you ruled out any humany decency you may have by preceeding that statement with "so be it" and "whether they are blessed or not is of no concern to me". Yeah, that's real "christian-like". (I can't think of a more appropirate word to use without being banned from the board).
