Presumably, from your characterization of religion as "voodoo", you do not hold any religious beliefs yourself, and yet you yourself presumably live by certain moral principles and undoubtedly expect others to do the same - for instance, to be fair rather than unfair, to value courage over cowardice, to be truthful rather than dishonest, to be loyal rather than disloyal, to honor one's commitments even when those commitments become inconvenient, and, one would hope, to value human life (certainly, your own!!)rather than devaluing it.
These are fundamentally moral positions, and not necessarily religious ones. They are the glue that holds society together even if all the churches burned down tomorrow.
