Read this closely. You've confused me with other posters.

Posted By: I made one fair assessment. on 2009-01-17
In Reply to: No need. I'm not the one who's creeped out by - throngs of happy people. sm

And you jump on me like I'm the other poster(s) that you were railing about.

Geez, at least try to address the correct poster when you go on your rants.

It's very unbecoming.

I came in, in the middle. I had nothing to do with any Obama, cult, or creepy comments. I merely stated that you were being nastier than the previous posters.

Whereby you have decided that I am the same ones that posted above.

I'm really sick and tired of Obama supporters being so gosh darn mean and nasty to anything that moves in the wrong direction.

It's just very sad that people that say they are for hope and all that stuff, to be so gungho nasty.

Try being nice, and just not react to these other people, or me for that matter.

You might find your blood pressure comes down a bit.

And yes, your posts tonight, if it is all you on these threads of nastiness, are quite unbecoming, and have nothing to do with any political.

You probably don't care that I'm off or on topic, and at this point I don't either. It's just a colossal waste of time and space. For both of us, by the way.

Apparently you didn't read closely enough..........sm
My point was that by replacing the food stamp program with the commodity program, which does not allow for "luxury" foods like rib-eye, etc., perhaps more people would be willing to get off the welfare wagon and go back to work.

Where in the heck did you come up with you idea?
Read older posts. If I'm confused, so are many others here who
know you change your moniker at will, Dutchess.
Read on down. Some posters below are defending Bennett's remarks...sm
so while you may feel they are wrong, which I think the white house was right to condemn them. BENNETT having served in two high positions, Secretary of education and over drugs under Bush Sr with these views, is worrisome.

I think his true *colors* are shining through.
This is by far the best post I've ever read
And it's 100% true, too.
I've read too much about this package

and it will not help the people that need help.  It doesn't provide help to the regular "joe's" out there that need help. It is all about the greed again. Most of it will only help regular "joe's" by the year 2011, not now.  By that time, we will either be down the tubes or everything will have corrected itself on its own.

I don't think government should meddle in ways to try to turn the economy around. It only mkes it worse. Look at all the handouts in the first stimulus package. Did the regular "joe's" get any help out of it? Nope. It will be the same with this one. Did you see Glen Beck's breakdown on the package posted below? If not, I suggest you look at it or else I can post it here.

It goes to show that the democrats don't give a darn about us, just their agenda even though 11 democrats voted against it. That has to say something.  Evidently, the democrats (and I don't mean this harshly) didn't get enough calls from their constiuents to knock this package into oblivion. They were in a hurry to pass it? Why? Not because it would help us, but because they wanted it passed before anyone really got a chance to see what it entailed.

Sorry, but I disagree with you whole heartedly. This will not help. It will only hurt. This will take our dollars down to zero and the next thing you know, we will be taking wheelbarrows of money to the store to buy a loaf of bread if you can even find it in the stores.

That's probably the most ignorant post I've read in a while
Please consider re-reading your post and see if you truly think you have done *any* real research.

Example: Giving our money to countries (who hate us anyway)? Please give that a rest. We "give away" a pittance to countries who need it while often RAPING their resources (Africa being a great example). And we ship BILLIONS to Israel - why do they need to be subsidized by the US? THINK about it before you answer.

As a matter of fact THINK about a lot of your comments - like the ridiculous notion that we would ROB the rich to pay the poor. You clearly don't get Obama's message of empathy my friend - but more importantly your comments about this and welfare are just not FACTUAL.

When I read posts like this I am more sad than I am when I look at the current crop of corrupt politicians who want us to vote them into the whiteouse in November.

Example: Obama says he wans to stop nuclear proliferation! WHAT A JOKE. OUR #1 EXPORT is weapons of mass destruction.

How do you stop proliferation when you are the world's biggest supplier?

Best description of the Samunist I've read yet.

This post is truly one of the most digusting I've read
And there have been lots of them. "John McCain has broken up a lot of marriage?" Oh please, show me the proof. Give me the names of the marriages he broke up.

Once again another lame attempt at the liberals trying to paint an untrue picture of reality.

And can you be any more disgusting in your "glee filled" description. Anyone can make up anything and make one side look worse than the other, and that's what this looks like. Although I do have to say it's a poor attempt.

I know you think Obama is the second coming of Christ, but please don't spread your malicious rumors and lies. Is it not enough you don't like McCain and don't want him to win, that's fine and that's your perogative, but to put up an absolute piece of trash post like this shows just how low and disgusting the dems will go.

As for checking out someones butt???? You are truly a piece of work. A lot of times I will be in line and looking down towards someone's butt but it doesn't mean "I'm checking them out".

As for this post - what goes around comes around.
I've listened, watched and read
about as much as anyone and I believe the 95% applies to people who PAY taxes.  Common sense.......how can you give someone a reduction in taxes who doesn't pay taxes.  Nonsense.
That's the most sensible thing I've read on this board
in a looooong time.  Why should somebody who works hard (or inherits) for their money have to pay more taxes than someone who makes (or inherits) less money.  Everybody paying the same - that is equality.
First time I've read that quote...scary (nm)

Thank you - the wisest thing I've read yet today
I keep posting there are bad and good on both sides. Neither side is perfect. There are a lot of democrats I agree with and I think they are right on (Kucinich, Richardson, and others in the senate). Actually there are more democrats I agree with than I would rather admit to. HA HA, but there are some I absolutely do not agree with (Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and others). On the other side there are some republicans I agree with (Ron Paul and others, can't think of any others right now just cos I'm so tired) and those that I think really stink (Bush at the top of them), but unless we get on this board praising Obama and every single democrat and cut down and destroy every republican, we will get bashed over and over. I have said many times there are good and bad on both sides and if people are going to follow the group think and not think for themselves, well that's when they lose a part of their sense. My mom is a great one. I don't know how many arguments I will have with her. She hates Bush so much with such a vengence she has come right out and said what she want to happen. "He's a liar, he's this, I don't have any money because of Bush, etc, etc. But the minute I say to her If you want to talk about liars lets hit on Clinton, or lets talk about what Obama said. Ohhhh no, can't do that. I was also told by her "If you know what is good for you, you'll stop saying those bad things about him". I asked her what exactly does that mean and she said I just better watch it. Then I said to her, well how can you say what you say about Bush but I tell you I disagree about something Obama said and your ready to report me to the authorities. Funny how someone mysteriously happened to be knocking on her door at that moment and she had to leave (btw, I didn't hear anything in the background and her phone is in the halway near her front door). So unless people will admit when they are wrong there will always be arguments.
Either you can't read, or you've just proved her point. Nice going.
nm
Well, I've heard and read he's a pretty rough character
much less a peace prize candidate. In all seriousness, enlighten me as to what he's done to deserve a peace prize? I can only assume it's because of his socialistic practices that seem to now be a pre-requisite for being a peace prize candidate...
Now THAT's the smartest thing I've read in a long time! nm

East Ohio Gas has been using natural gas to fuel their utility trucks for years - why hasn't that caught on?  Makes ya wonder..............

you are following me closely

I'm getting nurrrrvous.

You didn't look very closely.

You seem to be off your game now that you are no longer a moderator.

I can find lots of postings.

I have been watching closely, too.
The whole MSNBC crew was out of sorts on the night Barack gave his speech. It was like they were star struck. The night before I couldn't help but notice the MSNBC camera man all over the place, zooming in on the oddest thing; it was so bad, I switched to CNN and Wolfe. Read later that a rumor about drugs was going around. Maybe someone drugged their drinks. I have watched these guys for years and this is the strangest I have seen them. They looked unfrazzled and were disagreeable with each other. With regard to Maher, I like noncomformists -he is a smart guy and so far, what he has been alluding to has all come true with regard to GOP, as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
Whaaaat? Nazi-ism is more closely associated
.
I watched the family closely tonight

For the first time I took a long look at Cindy McCain and her reaction to the speeches and how she acted with everyone around her.  She is a beautiful lady and will make a very gracious first lady.  Kind of reminds me of how Jackie O was (the lady like quality.  Not frailty, but just someone that is very much the part.  What a stunning outfit she wore (I'm not into the fashion thing, but I just thought she looked very beautiful tonight).  I loved how she interacted with Sarah Palin's children.  And how cute was that of the young girl holding the baby and then licking her hand to keep the baby's hair in place.  Talk about a crack up.  All of Todd & Sarah Palin's kids are so cute.

I will be very happy with Cindy McCain as first lady & Todd Palin as "first dude?"  HA HA.  Actually I don't think they call the VP's spouse anything do they?

you don't follow politics/economic very closely then
First - signs were not hateful. Signs were truthful but the Kool-aid drinkers don't want to admit it. You consider calling us teabaggers, hillbillies, and rednecks as perfectly fine, but the minute someone points out that he is following the same path as socialist leaders you label that as "hate". What's worse is other countries are pointing it out too, not just Americans. Unfortunately it's the truth no matter whether you want to believe it or not. Last night I was watching a special about Hitler and his henchmen, and how a lot of people think he escaped. Well listing to the people talk about what he and his henchman did, I kept thinking...wait a minute...that's going on right now - (no not the genocide thing), but the way they ran their government back then. The reason you might have seen those signs on Fox was because there were no other channels covering it. BSNBC and the Communist News Network didn't cover it. Our local channels didn't cover it either. Between 250,000 to 300,000 people attended and they pretended nothing happened. What's amazing is they'll cover a story of some ducks crossing a road in some town I've never heard of, or some little kiddy motor scooter race in another unknown town, but over 2000 cities host the tea parties where there are peaceful demonstrations because people are unhappy with the government and they are excersing their right to freedom of speech (you remember the same things democrats were fighting and pushing for when Bush was in office). But there comes a double standard when only democrats can do it but republicans and independents are suppose to remain subservient and not say anything and let us be starved and unemployed and lose our homes and have to go live in shelters and we're suppose to be happy and never say anything???

As for inciting hate and racism...that is exactly what BSNBC is doing when they have Keith Olbermann show or Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews. And then to have people like J Gorofool speak her utter hatred and racism and stupidity is unleashed. Now what she and Olbermann and the other clowns at BSNBC do...that there is inciting hate and racism. Pure and simple, no two ways about it. Why don't you actually watch Fox news before critising it. There is no hate and racism. What is racist about saying... I'm sick of congress and government taxing me to death, sending my job overseas, and I'm now having to foreclose on my house. I'm tired of them taking my money in taxes which I have no control over and they are spending it on themselves and their friends. What is racist about that???
So, after reading very closely, fair and honest means
jumping into the middle calling a perfect stranger beyond nasty without regard to the context of the thread? Oh wait, that can't be right, since you seem to be aware that I am an Obama supporter who does not appreciate being painted with the broad brush stroke of "cult worshiper" after my original post describing the Baltimore stopover in terms of tears of joy and Obama's response of "I love you back." Yeah, right. I'm the mean and nasty one here and the Obot/cult worship post needed defending after the thread (what?) "moved in the wrong direction?" Did you not notice that the original post was completely void of mean and nasty UNTIL the Obot response appeared? Guess not.

So then you jump in, take a side and tell me how nasty I am and then can't understand when I attempt to address you AND the content of the thread you decided to interrupt. Are you with me so far?

Let me tell you what is really sad. It's really sad that someone cannot get up on this forum and express a little bit of joy without being called names and having their feet held to the fire. We are for hope, but we aren't door mats and certainly aren't stupid enough to try to reach out to vipers all coiled up in the grass waiting to strike.

Like I said before, insults in and insults out. Do not sit here and try to prescribe your brand of "nice" for my blood pressure. In spite of your "if," you still do not hesitate to presume I am responsible for all the mean and nasty on the board...I simply posted about Baltimore. That's it, so don't try to lecture me any further on your highly evolved sense of decorum and "becoming."

I don't think that getting both sides of a story out in the open is a waste of time and space, especially when all I did was simply try to express a little happy here. Just look at the price I have to pay for that.

Fair and honest assessment? I think I get it now.
Ok - still confused
I'm reading all these posts to the original poster and I am just lost. I have no idea what all this means and don't know what it has to do with politics. Guess I am just dense tonight.
You got me confused with sam. I really
nm
I'm a little confused.
I watched Bush's blurb last night. Can someone clearly explain to me how what he is proposing will get us out of trouble? I'm being sincere, I just don't get it.
I'm a little confused...
what happened? I'm sorry I haven't been watching the news lately... :(

I'm confused . . .
You respond to one divisive post with your own divisive post, but you agree with me? I am an independent who has actually voted for Republican, Democrat and third-party candidates, so I am certainly not closed minded. I am just bored reading the same arguments over and over and over.
ok, am way too confused
too many posts, too late in the day, not enough caffeine, think I better take a break from this. My apologies if I offended you. I just have very strong beliefs and I get defensive when people bash me and I defend myself and they turn around and say its all my fault.

Anyway...again apologies if I offended you and many apologies if I've been replying to the wrong person.
I'm Confused SM

I'm a little  confused.  Let me see if I have this straight . .  .

* If  you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents,  you're
 'exotic,  different.'
*  Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers,  a  quintessential American
story.

* If  your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic  Muslim.
*  Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a  maverick.

*  Graduate from Harvard law School and you are  unstable.
*  Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're  well grounded.

       * If  you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer,  become

the  first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a  voter
registration drive that registers  150,000 new voters, spend 12
years as a Constitutional Law  professor,  spend 8 years as a  State
Senator representing a district with  over 750,000 people, become
chairman of the state Senate's  Health and Human Services  committee,
spend 4 years in the   United  States Senate representing  a
state of  13 million people  while sponsoring 131 bills and  serving
on  the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and  Veteran's
Affairs committees, you don't have  any real leadership experience.

* If  your total resume is: local weather girl,  4 years on the  city
council and 6 years as the mayor of  a town with less than 7,000
people, 20 months as the governor of  a state with only 650,000
people, then you're qualified to  become the country's second
highest ranking  executive.

*  If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years  while
raising 2 beautiful daughters, all  within Protestant churches,
you're not a real  Christian.

* If  you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and  left
your  disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month,  you're
a  Christian.

*  If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex  education,
including the proper use of birth  control, you are eroding the
fiber of  society.

   * If  , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only,  with

no  other option in sex education in your state's school  system
while your unwed teen daughter ends  up pregnant , you're very
responsible.

*  If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a  position
in a  prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her  inner
city  community, then gave that up to raise a family, your  family's
values don't represent   America 's.

      * If  you're husband is nicknamed 'First Dude',  with at least  one

DWI  conviction and no college education, who didn't register  to
vote  until age 25 and once was a member of a group that  advocated
the  secession of Alaska from the   USA , your family is  extremely
admirable.

OK,  much clearer now.

I think you are a little confused sm
It's not about giving part of my money to you, it's about fairness in taxes. Right now, GW Bush gives a great deep tax cut to people making over $250K and he is just going to take that tax break and apply it to those making less and who are now struggling with their salaries trying to pay for gas etc. A lot of the time, the rich aren't even asking for the greater tax break... GW just applied it across the board. They will still be rich but the middle class needs a break. This isn't about welfare. It's about working families like you and your husband. You will not get a handout. You will still pay taxes but you will not pay a inordinate amount that is out of proportion to your income. That's all it is.
I'm confused...
in your original post you were talking about minimum wage earners and then you say you paid them very well - which is it? Not trying to argue, just trying to understand who thinks minimum wage is paying very well?
I'm confused. Her? Him? Who?
nm
I think you are confused.
You contradict yourself in your own post.

you must be confused
My previous post said PEOPLE were to blame for not living within their means. Nobody forced them to take out loans they knew darn good and well they would never be able to pay back.

It really burns me that I am going to pay for THEIR stupidity. I live within my means. Everyone else should too.

I seriously don't think you mean to say that they were forced into taking these loans out. If that's what you meant, you must be delusional.
I am NOT confused.
I did not say they were forced to take them out--I said that lenders were forced to give them out. Had that not happened, this mess would not have happened. It does NOT just affect the people who live outside their means, it affects the whole economy; therefore, I hold those responsible for forcing the loans to be given more responsible than those greedy enough to take them! If you see it differently, perhaps you are delusional.
you are confused
America is very unusual in that if you are born here you are a citizen. Most other countries are NOT like that! You are a citizen of the country of your parents! Please look this UP!
Oh, I am NOT confused, but I would be if I
nm
I think you have me confused

with another poster.  I have 3 kids, all teens.  My husband and I both work 2 jobs.  The last vacation we had that was more than a day's drive from our home ---- oh yeah, never.  We live in the midwest and have never even seen the ocean.

I disagree about the minimum wage hike being the answer.  The problem is the huge percentage of the population that has zero work ethic.  Even if you raised the minimum wage, those with the entitlement personality would still only work to get enough for their immediate gratification.  They won't do the math and see that if they stayed in this higher-minimum-wage job for an entire year they would finally get ahead of the game.  They only want to get ahead of the game on somebody else's blood, sweat and tears.  I don't feel sorry for them if they are not willing to work.

It's not fair for the young teen who is busting his butt at McDonald's or some other minimum wage job to sock it away for college or his first car to get let go because the minimum wage was raised.

I'm glad you want to help people - I do too. It's just not the right solution to the problem.  Dear.

I don't think they are the ones who are confused, here.

You must have me confused with
someone else.  I have never quoted the bible.

I'm doing okay, just a little confused (LOL

I'm starting to get some rather worrisome, more classic symptoms of my cystic fibrosis, so I might not be around as much for a while again.)

As far as JTBB, I hope she's okay, but I doubt that anything could hold her back.  Same with "m".  And I'm glad.  You and those two are my favorites on this board, and if there weren't polite, decent, "follow the Golden Rule" type on this board, I'd have no reason at all to visit here.

Don't know if you'll be seeing me in the next few days.  If not, I hope you have a great week.  You're definitely a class act.

By the way, you're welcome, but the way I see it, it wasn't even a compliment, it was merely the truth!

Poor kid, he is confused, isn't he?

This is exactly what I mean when I say America is very confused.nm
z
These people are obviously confused

The U.S. is not Israel.  Shouldn't they should be demonstrating in Jerusalem.

I'm confused. Who do you hate more...
nm
I'm confused - can somebody explain

Okay, I don't have a fancy law degree.  Did sit on jury duty for a week some years ago, but this I don't understand.  I thought there was something about rumors and gossip was not a legal basis in a case, but today I heard this (on a more liberal station), that there is an investigation into what Governor Sarah Palin did to her ex-brother-in-law, and the lawyers on Obama's side are having people testify under oath to what they've heard as rumor and gossip and it will be included in the investigation.

Can they do that?  Like I say I'm not a lawyer, but I always thought rumors and gossip were not allowed in testimonies.

Hey, i think you have me confused with that other poster!
I was being sarcastic about conforming. I see what Bush has gotten us. I'm on your side!
sorry, my little brain got confused by all the
If my grandma, mother, etc died today, I wouldn't say any of those things because I would be with my family grieving the loss.  Obviously, Obama doesn't care that much or he'd be there with his family.
