She was falsely accused of making racist statements.

I had the access to search this board for her quotes.

You have the very same access to search, copy and paste.

So, please, find her racist quotes, copy and paste them because I'd love to see them.  My guess is you won't find any.

    making false statements
Well, if someone posts that I have called them a bigot TEN TIMES and all I see is the heading of my post talking about bigotry..what do you call it?  I call em as I see em..Liar is someone putting out false and misleading statements.  Stating that I called you a bigot 10 times is false and misleading..hence, liar..
Your making statements you can't back up.
In your dreams - yes, you do just pull out statements, but they are not out of your bellybutton.

For every poll you come up with that Obama is ahead I can find a poll where McCain is ahead. Polls are polls and they don't mean anything. Even all the liberal media people on MSNBC say that (especially when Obama is losing). They're the first to admit polls don't mean anything.
You should be care about making blanket statements
Just because people in your limited circle feel the way you do doesn't mean that the whole country does. Most people in my circle like Bush, although they believe he is much too soft on immigration and especially on people who are telling outright lies about him. Now, just because people in my circle think that doesn't mean the whole country feels that way. Things change region by region. I don't believe many people hate Bush either, but the left-learning media does and has the bullhorn, so the perception comes off that a lot of people hate Bush. You can read evidence of that all over this board.
In what context would those statements not be racist? nm
    nm
    racist and making fun of

the disabled.  Little Flap Palin would be so disappointed with you.

Poster is making a racist comment as you well
the only reason poster will be voting for O. Has nothing to do with economy...let's all get off that and focus on the real issue. Racism. This poster is racist and wants a black man in office, plain and simle.

Just too many trying to be so falsely PC

Murtha Attacked by the Right for Quote Falsely Attributed to Him.

    Imagine that.  I'm shocked.

Murtha Attacked by the Right For Quote Falsely Attributed to Him

UPDATE: Multiple ThinkProgress readers report that Gail Bulfin of the Sun-Sentinel admits the paper’s report was inaccurate and says a correction will be printed tomorrow.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Sunday that Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) had claimed that the United States is the greatest threat to peace in the world:

American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran, U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said to a crowd of more than 200 in North Miami Saturday afternoon.

Though the Sun-Sentinel never provided a direct quote of Murtha, the story was featured on the Drudge Report and Murtha immediately came under attack from conservative pundits:

    Bill O’Reilly, Fox News, 6/26:

Murtha has lost all perspective and did months ago, but his message is firmly entrenched in America’s far-left precincts. … [T]hat kind of extreme thinking, based on little evidence, by the way, is putting all Americans in danger.

    Tucker Carlson, MSNBC, 6/26:

What is really going on here, and you know it as well as I, is that Jack Murtha has been intoxicated by the amount of publicity that he has gotten from his anti-war crusade, and he has become progressively more unreasonable, progressively more left-wing as the days go on, and he is in the thrall of people who, I think, have hostility towards the United States.

    Newt Gingrich, Fox News, 6/26:

For an American congressman to say that is beyond any acceptable behavior, and I would hope the Congress would move to censure him.

One problem: Murtha apparently never said anything of the sort. What he did was cite a Pew poll released two weeks ago showing that people around the world, including in closely-allied countries like Great Britain, believe the U.S. is the greatest threat to peace.

A statement released by Murtha’s office today quotes an email from Melissa Sanchez of the Miami Herald, who also attended the speech, saying of the purported Murtha “quote”: “That was in reference to international polls. It was not so much his own conjecture, but a conclusion drawn from polls in various countries.” ThinkProgress confirmed with Murtha’s office that the email accurately reflects the views of reporters at the Miami Herald.

Email the Sun-Sentinel’s reader liason Gail Bulfin — gbulfin@sun-sentinel.com — and ask that the paper print a retraction. See update above.

If you were accused of something, would you want the same?
    c
You accused someone several times of something they did not do. sm
And yet you harp on.  Have you no shame?
Then prove I said what you accused me of saying.

Show me the post I wrote where I claimed to have *inside info on rapture. She said so* as you accused me of in your post above.  Just copy and paste it and show me where I said I have inside info on the rapture.

You can't prove it because I didn't say it.  So who's really the liar here?

    I stand accused of
You are so consumed with your attack politics you are completely incapable of answering any real issues on any level whatsoever. So here you are with you umpteenth millionth under the bus/lie lines...boring, ineffective, pathetic, self-serving. Biden's record speaks for itself for those who are listening. His "friendship" with McBush is not the least bit relevant to anyone except those on the Fox fringe. The only ones whose opinions really count here are which ones believe your propaganda and which ones don't and how many of them show up at the polls. Will be declining the answer the lies accusations. it's all in the perception, sweetie, and on that score, you and your ilk will lose and lose big in the whose leaders tell the biggest lies that have the worst consequences for all of us to pay contest. Since you cannot actually address any of the other well researched facts on the experience issues raised in the last post, there is nothing left to do here except leave you to stew in your own acidic attacks. I will stay loyal to my principles, my party, their policies, issues and leaders. They are our only hope this election season. Shocking as it may seem to you, democrats are proud to be democrats, liberals proud to be liberals. You have no idea just how many of us there are out here. Our voices have not been raised within your earshot (Fox News) under the "you're either with us or against us" mentality of your last great fearless leader. But we raise them now, loud and clear. We shall see in a few short weeks just which one of us in on the "right side of history" this time...that is, unless, of course, the republicans manage to steal yet one more election. NOT. Not this time. Don't bother with a response. Try to find something more intelligent to do with your time.
Hey, Stardust, are you not the one who accused
    nm
What has Frist officially been accused of
other than he's a Republican...so he's got to be guilty of something right?
Maybe you should ask Dixie Dew what it felt like to be accused by you

of being an alcoholic (and there wasn't even a STORY written about her).  You do this kind of thing to posters on this board on a daily basis.  And you're doing it again to GT.  She has said point blank that she DOESN'T wish that on him, but that doesn't coincide with your lying attack against her so once again the truth doesn't count.

    NY Times Accused of Treason.sm

Neocons Accuse “Liberal” New York Times of Treason
    Monday June 26th 2006, 8:05 am

Michelle Malkin, neocon blogger and concentration camp advocate, has posted a spate of converted WWII posters on her site, taking the New York Times to task for reporting the news, albeit a year late.

According to Malkin and New York representative Peter King, the New York Times stands accused of treason “for reporting last week about a secret financial-monitoring program used to trace alleged terrorists” and disclosing “a secret domestic wiretapping program,” according to CBC News, never mind both programs violate the spirit and the letter of the Constitution. “No one elected The New York Times to do anything,” King told the New York Daily News. “They’re breaking the law to satisfy their own arrogant, liberal agenda.”

In Bushzarro world, newspapers are “elected” to report the news. If newspapers report the trashing of the Constitution, this is treason. In Malkin’s world, it follows that traitors should be thrown in concentration camps, especially if they resemble in any way Arabs or Muslims.

It would seem Mr. King and Malkin suffer from memory loss. It was Judith Miller’s “arrogant, liberal agenda” that brought us the neocon lies about illusory Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. As Antony Loewenstein writes for the Sydney Morning Herald, the “vast majority of [Miller’s] WMD claims came through Ahmed Chalabi, an indicted fraudster and one of the leading figures in the Iraqi National Congress (INC), the group keen to militarily overthrow Saddam. Miller relied on untested defectors’ testimonies (usually provided by Chalabi) to write several front-page stories on this information,” stories that did not pass the smell test at the time and have found the memory hole since.

Ahmed Chalabi, convicted bank fraudster installed as a deputy prime minister in Iraq, was a neocon darling. His Iraqi National Congress, created by the CIA, was the primary source of Judith Miller’s “journalism.” In short, Judith Miller was a hack for the neocons, thus making the New York Times a neocon conduit for lies and propaganda.

Even though the New York Times serves as a shameless shill for the “arrogant, liberal agenda” of the neocons, this does not change the fact the newspaper is protected under both the First Amendment and statutory procedure (see the Supreme Court case, Bartnicki v. Vopper). In 1971, the Supreme Court ruled in a per curiam decision that prior restraint (censorship) was not warranted in a government effort to stop the New York Times from publishing the Pentagon Papers. “There’s a tone of gleeful relish in the way they [the Bush neocons] talk about dragging reporters before grand juries, their appetite for withholding information, and the hints that reporters who look too hard into the public’s business risk being branded traitors,” Bill Keller, New York Times Executive Editor, told the Washington Post.

King and Malkin, of course, have nothing but contempt for Supreme Court rulings. It is irrelevant that NSA whistleblower Russell Tice (the source behind revelations published in the New York Times) is protected by federal law. King and Malkin believe the unitary decider and his Machiavellian operatives have the right to look through your financial, medical, and library records, listen in on your telephone calls, read your email, and sneak and peek your computer hard drive and while they’re at it rifle through your underwear drawer because “we are at war” with an enemy never sufficiently documented or designated, an enemy who worked for the CIA in Afghanistan and is not specifically “wanted in connection” with the nine eleven attacks, as his FBI wanted poster reveals.

Obviously, King and Malkin, and the whole of the neocon choir, believe the phony “war on terror,” rechristened the “long war”—i.e., it will last a century or more, or long enough to provide obscene profits for the death merchants—gives the “permanent revolution” Jacobins the right to trash the Constitution.

Quite naturally, this brings to mind Hitler’s Ermächtigungsgesetz, or Enabling Act, an element of the Reichstag Fire Decree nullifying the civil liberties of German citizens after the Reichstag was torched (a fire planned by Goebbels and executed by Göring, according to SA man Karl Ernst).

Bush, not unlike Hitler, feels he has the authority to by-pass Congress (mostly corporate purchased whores, so this is a moot point) and use the Constitution as a doormat where the unitary decider wipes off his shoes, mucky with the blood a few hundred thousand Iraqis.

Hey, I've been accused of a lot on this board

But getting mistaken for Observer really hurts my feelings.

No, I wasn't being all that serious.  I just don't see how people can preach about an unborn baby's life being the "will of God", but the life of somebody on a battlefield is not the "will of God", the life of all animals euthanized daily in pet shelters is not the "will of God", the life of the chicken in that sandwich you ate for lunch is not the "will of God".

Either all life is sacred (bugs and trees included) or its OK to kill things. According to the Bible, there's times he's really into it, so obviously he thinks sometimes its OK.  People who claim to know when its OK (or not) are claiming to know the mind of God and speaking for him, which is presumptuous and egotistical, IMHO.

    These are accused....not convicted, correct?
Even assuming that they were all guilty, 4% is not a disproportionate number...but I would agree about the fox taking care of the chickens. I can find nowhere any figures on percentage of the US population that are pedophiles. I could find figures on what percentage of pedophiles are of certain sexual orientation but I could not find anything on the US population. I don't find that anything that suggests a disproportionate number of priests are pedophiles.

That being said, a pedophile is a pedophile in my estimation, whether a priest, a teacher, a daycare provider, or a next door neighbor. All are in positions of authority over children. There should be an island somewhere where convicted pedophiles (priests included) could be dumped and just fly over once a month and drop supplies. Let them deal with each other for the rest of their lives. Should never be allowed near children again.

    Okay, off my soapbox.
I did not see anywhere where there was anybody accused of voting illegally -
In fact, it was just the opposite. So many people had to prove who they were and were told they were not registered when they were and they had to go get proof to vote. Can you show me where illegals voted?
I accused nobody of anything. I simply stated that
a triple digit IQ, i.e., intelligence quotient, as in intelligent leadership, would be good for the country for a change, the implication being we have not had that until now. If it speaks stupid, thinks stupid, looks stupid and acts stupid, chances are it is, well, stupid.

I do not spend any time on sites that speculate about widely varying IQ scores for either party's candidates, since that type of data can only produce subjective conclusions. I also do not pursue illogical arguments that in one breath give Obama's SAT/LSAT scores and in the next, accuse him of hiding that information. For me, SAT scores and IQ are 2 mutually exclusive concepts unless and until someone can produce a resource that can convince me otherwise.

I made a simple statement in response to Bushisms which any self-respecting American would find embarrassing and not worthy of the highest office in the land. That statement was construed as some sort of accusation in a reply from somebody who felt the need to defend Bush. I answered that by further discussion of Bush's stupidity, not his IQ. I was not focused on the number, rather the lack of intelligence.

Therefore, I feel no need to defend my position nor excuse myself for not conducting exhaustive research in defense of somebody else's ideas and number hang-ups.

I want smart leadership. Sue me.
Well, Democrat, I am a little tired of being accused of things I didn't do. SM
Maybe some people would sit still for that, but I don't.  It's obvious that gt misunderstood that I was posting to American Woman, which is verifiable by following the thread.  Instead, Nameless Troll #33 gets involved and the same stuff gets started again.  Yes, it is tired and tiring and silly and childish and I should have known better than to come here.  Well, we ALMOST had a good conversation.
Iraq Contractor Accused of Badge Fraud

Iraq Contractor Accused of Badge Fraud

    Tuesday, September 20, 2005

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A former government contractor was charged with fraud Tuesday for handing out top access ID badges in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone (search) to an Iraqi girlfriend and others not entitled to have them.

Thomas N. Barnes III, 48, of Fort Worth, Texas, a former employee of contractor DynCorp (search), was arrested Tuesday morning at Dulles International Airport (search).

Barnes was freed on his own recognizance following a brief initial appearance in federal court. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

Attempts to reach Barnes were not immediately successful Tuesday.

According to court records, Barnes produced access badges for people authorized to enter the Green Zone, where security is especially tight after militants vowed last week to launch an attack in the zone.

DynCorp administers the badge program under a $7.7 million military contract. Greg Lagana, a spokesman for the Irving, Texas, company, said Barnes was fired and withdrawn from Iraq, and the company is confident that Barnes' actions were an isolated incident.

People seeking access to the Green Zone, or International Zone, apply for a badge and undergo a security check. Applicants cleared for access then receive a badge in one of eight colors to reflect high or low-level access.

Granny Accused of Looting Freed...see short article.sm
KENNER, La. — A 73-year-old diabetic grandmother and church elder who fled Katrina's floodwaters for the safety of a hotel ended up in prison instead for more than two weeks — all over a bite of food.

Police in this New Orleans suburb arrested Merlene Maten (search) the day after the hurricane on charges she took $63.50 in goods from a looted deli. Though never before in trouble with the law, her bail was set at a stiff $50,000 and she was shipped away to a state penitentiary.

Family and eyewitnesses insist Maten's prison odyssey was unwarranted, claiming she only had gone to her car to get some sausage to eat when officers cuffed her in frustration, unable to catch younger looters at a nearby store.

Despite intervention from the nation's largest senior lobby, volunteer lawyers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (search) and even a private attorney, the family fought a futile battle for 16 days to get her freed.

Then, hours after her plight was featured in an Associated Press story, a local judge on Thursday ordered Maten freed on her own recognizance, setting up a sweet reunion with her daughter, grandchildren and 80-year-old husband.

Racist? You calling me racist? sm

I voted for Alan Keyes.  He be blacker than Obama any day.

I despise Obama not because he is called African American by the MSM but because he is a liar parading around in sheep's clothing.  He says one thing to one group, contradicts himself on the same subject to another, and plays idiotic Americans like a violin.

Obama's parentage does not qualify him to be called black anymore than his foreign birth qualifies him to called an American.  To say people oppose him are racist because of his skin color is preposterous when he is neither black nor African American.

"Don't use the word 'gay' unless it's an acronym for 'Got Aids Yet'"

"You telling these miserable, Hell-bound, bath house-wallowing, anal-copulating fags that God loves them!? You have bats in the belfry!"

"American Veterans are to blame for the fag takeover of this nation. They have the power in their political lobby to influence the zeitgeist, get the fags out of the military, and back in the closet where they belong!"

"Not only is homosexuality a sin, but anyone who supports fags is just as guilty as they are. You are both worthy of death."

    Gary Bauer (American Values)

"We are engaged in a social, political, and cultural war. There's a lot of talk in America about pluralism. But the bottom line is somebody's values will prevail. And the winner gets the right to teach our children what to believe."

Gary North (Institute for Christian Economics)

"The long-term goal of Christians in politics should be to gain exclusive control over the franchise. Those who refuse to submit publicly to the eternal sanctions of God by submitting to His Church's public marks of the covenant–baptism and holy communion–must be denied citizenship."

Gary Potter (Catholics for Christian Political Action)

"When the Christian majority takes over this country, there will be no satanic churches, no more free distribution of pornography, no more talk of rights for homosexuals. J. B. Stoner (White Supremacist)

"We had lost the fight for the preservation of the white race until God himself intervened in earthly affairs with AIDS to rescue and preserve the white race that he had created.... I praise God all the time for AIDS."

"AIDS is a racial disease of Jews and Niggers, and fortunately it is wiping out the queers. I guess God hates queers for several reasons. There is one big reason to be against queers and that is because every time some white boy is seduced by a queer into becoming a queer, means his white bloodline has run out."

James Dobson (Focus on the Family)

"Those who control the access to the minds of children will set the agenda for the future of the nation and the future of the western world."

"Today we are engaged in a final, all-out battle between Communistic Atheism and Christianity."

    Joseph Morecraft (Chalcedon Presbyterian Church)

    Joseph Scheidler (Pro-Life Action League)

Lester Roloff (Texas Homes for Wayward Youth)

"Better a pink bottom than a black soul."*

*Roloff opened a chain of homes for "wayward" youth in the state of Texas; he was later jailed in 1973 and again in 1975 for child abuse due to the punitive punishment techniques used in his homes. He would have been finished had he not of been specifically given permision to re-open his homes by, you guested it, Governor George W Bush.

    Pat Buchanan (Presidential Candidate)

"Our culture is superior. Our culture is superior because our religion is Christianity and that is the truth that makes men free."

"There were no politics to polarize us then, to magnify every slight. The "negroes" of Washington had their public schools, restaurants, bars, movie houses, playgrounds and churches; and we had ours."

"Rail as they will about 'discrimination,' women are simply not endowed by nature with the same measures of single-minded ambition and the will to succeed in the fiercely competitive world of Western capitalism."

    Pat Robertson (Christian Coalition)

"The Islamic people, the Arabs, were the ones who captured Africans, put them in slavery, and sent them to America as slaves. Why would the people in America want to embrace the religion of slavers."

"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different...More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."

"When lawlessness is abroad in the land, the same thing will happen here that happened in Nazi Germany. Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals – the two things seem to go together."

"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians."

"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense, I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist."

"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."

"[Homosexuals] want to come into churches and disrupt church services and throw blood all around and try to give people AIDS and spit in the face of ministers."

"[Planned Parenthood] is teaching kids to fornicate, teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism – everything that the Bible condemns."

    Patrick Mahoney (Christian Defense Coalition)

"It is deeply troubling to have an appointed, unelected commission remove an elected official from office [Roy Moore]. The Court of Judiciary has overturned an election and crushed the democratic process through their actions."*

*Interesting perspective coming from someone who's President was appointed by a group of "unelected judges", thus overturning a democratic election.

    Paul Cameron

"I think that actually AIDS is a guardian. That is I think it was sent, if you would, about forty years ago, to destroy Western civilization unless we change our sexual ways. So it's really a Godsend."

"Homosexuality is a crime against humanity."

"Causes of homosexuality include: 'sex with animals'"*

"Unless we get medically lucky, in three or four years, one of the options discussed will be the extermination of homosexuals."

*Paul Cameron was discharged from the American Psychological Association, the Nebraska Psychological Association, and the American Sociological Association due to his unethical practices and biased research regarding Homosexuals. His "research" has since been discredited by the scientific community; however his work is still referenced by many fundamentalist organizations as credible.

    Randall Terry (Operation Rescue)

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."

"Our goal must be simple. We must have a Christian nation built on God's law, on the ten Commandments. No apologies."

"I don't think Christians should use birth control. You consummate your marriage as often as you like – and if you have babies, you have babies."

"When I, or people like me, are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we'll execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed."*

"There is going to be war, [and Christians may be called to] take up the sword to overthrow the tyrannical regime that oppresses them."

*It is interesting to note that Randell Terry's son is Gay

    Jerry Vines (Southern Baptist Convention)

"They would have us believe that Islam is just as good as Christianity. Christianity was founded by the virgin-born son of God, Jesus Christ. Islam was founded by Muhammad, a demon-possessed pedophile who had 12 wives, the last one of which was a nine-year-old girl."

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [Gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything!"

*Now known as Rick "Santorum" Santorum

Robert Simonds (Citizens for Excellence in Education)

"As the church watches from the sidelines, the ungodly elect atheists and homosexuals to school boards and legislatures to enact policies and laws that destroy our Christian children and discriminate against Christian families."

"Atheistic secular humanists should be removed from office and Christians should be elected...Government and true Christianity are inseparable."

"We'll take away their power and their money. Money comes from students. We'll break their backs by taking 24 million kids out of the public schools."

"Raising your children under Americanism or any other principles other than true Christianity is child abuse."

    Roy Moore (Former Alabama Judge)

"If they want to get the Commandments, they're going to have to get me first."*

    "Worship With Your Vote"

*Interesting observation of the Radical Right, Judge Roy Moore commits peaceful civil disobedience by refusing to remove the Ten Commandments Monument from the Court. He is considered a Hero. Mayor Gavin Newsom commits peaceful civil disobedience by issuing same-sex marriage licenses. He is considered an Anarchist.

    Rush Limbaugh

    Michael Savage (Savage Nation)

"Oh, you're one of the sodomites. You should only get AIDS and die, you pig. How's that? Why don't you see if you can sue me, you pig. You got nothing better than to put me down, you piece of garbage. You have got nothing to do today, go eat a sausage and choke on it."*

*Statement made on live national television

I said your statements were ignorant - not you,
    .
He does not agree with the statements
This does not affect my decision - He does not agree with what this preacher is saying. He gave a very moving speech yesterday.
    Innappropriate statements?
An assassination pool on our new president (whether we like him or not) is just an inappropriate statement? Promoting it is just an inappropriate statement? My God we are talking about a bet on a human life here!
I think there were statements to the illusion.... sm
that she would run in 2012 even before the election, but I don't have time to dig back for anything to substantiate that. Just my recollections.

I think we need to wait until it is a little closer to 2012 before we get all up in arms about who may or may not run and start fueling the fires. The political climate will likely be a lot different in 2012 than it is now and there will likely be a whole 'nuther set of issues in addition to the ones that were faced during this election.

I applaud you for your statements but

I doubt anyone will listen for the reasons you listed. Everything you said is true and I agree wholeheartedly.

When I first came to this board, it was about the issues. There was no name-calling or nastiness, but as the election went on, it got really nasty. Links were posted so we could verify the information and/or come back with a retort. I came back after the election hoping that was all over with and was confronted with messages that were even WORSE than before the election. Like you said, there are no discussions on the issues. There aren't any links to verify anything. It's nothing but rumors and inuendos and O worshipping.

I've said it many times and it always falls on deaf ears. I see some are even on the gab board now about taking off work tomorrow for the inauguration. Lose money just to see "one of the most historical moments in history"? Not me. I've had it up to here with all of it. I've never seen an election where they had so many "historical" items for sale either. It's not the serious ceremony it should be this year. It's more like a circus or parade.

Sure, I wish him luck. He's really going to need it, but I doubt he can pull it off. There's going to be a lot of disappointed people in this country in a year or two.

Yes, let us get our statements correct.
Special Report: Barack Obama: The 44th U.S. President

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama Tuesday held talks with congressional Republicans and urged them to quickly approve an 825 billion U.S. dollar stimulus package.

"The statistics every day underscore the urgency of the economic situation. The American people expect action," said Obama after meeting with Republicans.

"As I explained to the Republican House Caucus and I will explain to my former Senate colleagues, the recovery package that we've proposed and is moving its way through Congress is just one leg in a multi-legged stool," said the new president.

House will vote on the package Wednesday, and Senate committees began their own deliberations over it on Tuesday.

However, many Republicans turned against the large stimulus package. And after the meeting with Obama last week, House Republican Leader John Boehner said he and his colleagues told the president they feel the stimulus package is too expensive and too slow.

I personally think, Republicans do not have a chance with Obama. Look what our new president and the dems state about Rush Limbaugh. NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Must do what Obama says or he will back stab you. After he, Obama states, "I won and I will trump you."
I heard their statements too and
Although, I think it is to cover their own butts for something. If I could, I would have had them FIRED FROM THEIR POSITION. No open mind at all, just being arrogant.
I thought many of his statements........... sm
were right on. Just because he doesn't march in step with the rest of Hollywood does not make his opinions any less valid. People really do need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Obama has proven himself a liar and a manipulator. He is most definitely against Israel which is a place that no one in their right mind should want to be. He has burdened this country with debt for generations to come and has changed the economic face of this nation for the worse forever....or at least for any foreseeable future.
I can square it because they are questions not statements.
Biblically, only those who accept Jesus as their savior will go to heaven.  That is a CHRISTIAN view.  Jews have their own Messiah and their own belief as to heaven.  As for me, I would gladly welcome all to heaven. But I am not God.
If you will copy and paste each of the statements...
into a Google search, it will give you some sites with the full context of what she said. However, if you take the totality of the statements, and look at her basic agenda...Hillary does have strong socialist tendencies. Read up for yourself on socialism...how it starts and how it invariably ends. Veneuela being an example...Chavez took power saying he was going to return power to the people. What he did was take all the power for himself...that is where socialism invariably goes...to dictatorship. Cuba is another example. Chavez recently took control of all the television stations and radio stations so he could control the content and people who would disagree with him. We just need to be very careful to look at all aspects of something that looks good on the surface...need to make sure we push the lid off and see what's underneath. Educate ourselves. No matter what our political leanings are. We need to keep our individuality. It is vital...in my opinion.

    Bush irresponsible statements
The other night I just about choked when Bush made that statement about WWIII.  If that was not the most irresponsible statement by a world leader then I dont know what was..well, maybe the statement he made a while ago about bring it on or the approved post by the WH Mission accomplished.  Throwing around words like WWIII can cause nothing but angst and make other countries get ready for WWIII.  It is like stating in a marriage the word dirvoce, once it is out there, the questions and doubts arise.
First of all...please do not classify my statements as ignorant...
who are YOU to decide that??

We are NOT France, piglet. Do you honestly think that Cornell or Harvard or any of the premiere medical programs in this country could train doctors as well if they were dependent upon the government for funding? You have GOT to be kidding. To bring those schools to the level they are right now, do you have ANY idea what that would cost? I repeat...you have GOT to be kidding. You might as well sign your entire paycheck over to the government.

And what great medical minds have come out of French schools lately? Any great medical minds in France probably graduated from Cornell or Harvard. Well I take that back...if they came to school here, they stayed here. That is another thing...I would be interested in the numbers of Canadian doctors who fled that wonderful system and now work here? I would venture to say....hundreds.

As to 78% of the French as satisfied with their program...I doubt that is a real number unless someone went door to door in person to 78% of the French and asked them if they were satisfied. After they take a big tax hit to pay for this program, as the cost is catching up with them...ask them AGAIN. I would bet that figure, real or not, takes a nose dive.

Yes, I can argue that citizens under socialized health care are satisfied with it. If they are satisfied with it, why do they cross the border to come HERE when they need an operation and can't jump the line? Why do people from those countries bring their children to Cornell or other hospitals to be treated because of lines and quotas? Why do they bring children with significant diseases here? Because the best medical minds in the world are HERE. And whether you agree or not, that will no longer be the case under socialized medicine. Socialized medicine has a smothering effect on research because it sucks up all the research money. It sucks up the money from a LOT of places. You need to think this through, piglet, and stop focusing on "free" because that is what you are focusing on. And what a, to use your word, "ludicrous" thing THAT is.

Your relatives in Montreal may be fine with it.....however, I have read article after article from Canadian newspapers with people fed up with Canada's system...a system which will give clean needles to drug addicts but won't supply needs to diabetics. And whatever the "universal plan" won't cover, still comes out of your pocket.

And while you may want the government to decide when and where you need health care and to what degree, and where they have to draw the line because of cost, taking any choice from you, that is up to you, I do not, and I will fight it tooth and nail. Which is my right. I do NOT want to end up with over half my paycheck going to taxes. I will fight THAT tooth and nail. It is already 35%. Piglet, that is ENOUGH. If they cannot provide entitlements for that amount, then they need to decide what entitlement is the most important and prioritize. There are a great MANY Canadians who are at the 50-55% point already. Please do not say you are okay with all your fellow Americans having 50% of their wages taken off the top so you don't have to pay an insurance premium.

You know, the reason insurance companies are walking up and down aisles doing those studies is because the health care profession would not police itself and start looking at cost realistically. Insurance coompanies organizing large groups of people gave them the push they needed to negotiate these costs down. Much like unions did in the beginning. And you want to remove that and hand it over to government. Basically you are wanting to take from insurance companies the right to negotiate prices down for consumers, and instead let the government take all choice out of it and make all your choices for you. You are willing to relinquish total control to the government just so you don't have to pay for your own insurance. What you are asking is that your fellow Americans cough it up so you don't have to. Because that is where the government gets every dime it spends. From your fellow Americans. Pardon me if I do not understand that. I do not expect my fellow Americans to insure me or my kids, feed me or clothe me or give me a check when I am fully capable of doing all that for myself. I may have to work harder or longer than some, but I will do that before I will ask you or any other American to pay any more taxes so that I do not have to pay an insurance premium.

His campaign has released several statements
stating that she was vetted. Just go to cnn.com and you can read them all there.

Here is a partial article (also explains that this was a rumor...that she had not been vetted:

Nicolle Wallace, a senior McCain adviser, told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday that Palin disclosed her daughter's pregnancy during the vetting process, and that the McCain campaign had been forced to reveal the pregnancy publicly Monday because of "lewd and outrageously false rumors" spread by "Democratic-leaning blogs and a few in the mainstream" media. She did not identify them.

Since McCain publicly disclosed his running mate on Friday, the notion of a shoddy, rushed review has been stoked repeatedly.

First, a campaign-issued timeline said McCain initially met Palin in February, then held one phone conversation with her last week before inviting her to Arizona, where he met with her a second time and offered her the job Thursday.

Then came the campaign's disclosure that Palin's unmarried 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, was pregnant. The father is Levi Johnston, who has been a hockey player at Bristol's high school, The New York Post and The New York Daily News reported in their Tuesday editions.

In addition, the campaign also disclosed that Palin's husband, Todd, then age 22, was arrested in 1986 in Alaska for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Shortly after Palin was named to the ticket, McCain's campaign dispatched a team of a dozen communications operatives and lawyers to Alaska. That fueled speculation that a comprehensive examination of Palin's record and past was incomplete and being done only after she was placed on the ticket.

Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser, said no matter who the nominee was, the campaign was ready to send a "jump team" to the No. 2's home state to work with the nominee's staff, work with the local media and help handle requests from the national media for information, and answer questions about documents that were part of the review.

At several points throughout the process, McCain's team warned Palin that the scrutiny into her private life would be intense and that there was nothing she could do to prepare for it.

Culvahouse disclosed details of his examination in a half-hour interview with the AP.

First, a team of some 25 people working under Culvahouse culled information from public sources for Palin and other prospective candidates without their knowledge. For all, news reports, speeches, financial and tax return disclosures, litigation, investigations, ethical charges, marriages and divorces were reviewed.

For Palin specifically, the team studied online archives of the state's largest newspapers, including the Anchorage Daily News, but didn't request paper archives for Palin's hometown newspaper. "I made the decision that we could not get it done and maintain secrecy," Culvahouse said.

Reports, 40-some pages and single-spaced, on each candidate then were reviewed by McCain, Schmidt, campaign manager Rick Davis and top advisers Mark Salter and Charlie Black.

Among the details McCain's campaign found: Palin had once received a citation for fishing without a license.

Palin, like others on the short list, then was sent a personal data questionnaire with 70 "very intrusive" questions, Culvahouse said. She also was asked to submit a number of years of federal and state tax returns, as well as any controversial articles she had written or interviews she had done. The campaign also checked her credit.

Then, Culvahouse conducted a nearly three-hour-long interview.

He said the first thing she volunteered was that her daughter was pregnant, and she also quickly disclosed her husband's DUI arrest.

Early on, the public search unearthed details of the investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that Palin ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper.

Culvahouse said that he asked follow-up questions during the interview, and "spent a lot of time with her lawyer" on the matter.

"We came out of it knowing all that we could know at the time," he said.

As for the financial records review, Culvahouse said: "It was very clean. We had no issues there."

Throughout the process, the campaign said, Davis had multiple conversations with Palin.

because these statements do demonstrate racism
and I people should be aware they were made. As I said, but you obviously didn't take the time to think about, I am against ANY racism.
But McCain supporting it went against his own statements -
to paraphrase, during one of the debates, he said he had a pen and he would use it to veto any bill that had pork barrel spending in it and that he would make the names known of people who wanted that spending.
Not when it is publishing policy statements
the joke's on you. Hundred of others where that came from.
This is not the correct board for these statements
Do some research before you make that statement. Or at least take a class or two in theology. This is not the religious board so will not even get into this kind of discussion here. I'm just replying to you that your statement is your belief, others including myself feel different and you have no proof of your statement. If you want to discuss further go to the religion board.

    Look at the link enclosed.

    There ARE more than one.
These statements pretty much speak for themselves
and don't need a whole lot of context to get the drift.
I find statements like this creepy!

Just for the record, Obama is not a messiah or the messiah, he is not our savior, though he tries portrays himself as just that.  He is not operating some elevated, enlightened plane on which the rest of us are not fit to tread.  He is merely a man wrongfully elected into the most powerful position in the world.  Forgive me if my fears and concerns aren't assuaged by the fact that he ordered a chili dog for lunch!

He wasn't "wrongfully elected."  The majority of the people spoke and, for once, their votes were counted honestly.  He didn't need to be selected.  He was rightfully elected.

The Bushies are the "worshippers."  Those who voted for Obama are "supporters" of better futures of their children and grandchildren.  It just so happens that that hope -- yes, HOPE, the new Neocon four-letter curse word -- is coming in the form of a man who can, at the very least, form complete sentences, for whom English is not a second language, someone who doesn't claim the "have mores" are his "base," and someone who hasn't claimed to have a direct line to GOD.

Oh, yeah, and he just happens to be BLACK, as well.  So he carries even a higher burden than any other white man would be forced to carry.  He's intelligent enough to know that this is a historic moment in the USA, which is another reason I believe he won't mess it up.

I've seen the look in his eyes when his wife and children are in his presence.  He is truly humbled by them.  It would take quite a lot to convince me that he would endanger them (or their futures) in any way.  He isn't arrogant.  He doesn't publicly say he doesn't CARE what people think because he's the "Decider," and I'm pretty sure he is aware that fish and man CAN and HAVE coexisted for quite some time now.

All you Obama haters, to me, are truly the creepy ones.

There are so many false statements in your post...
    Afghans are not Arabs

Arabs cannot get along among themselves? Neither can Republicans and Democrats.

Obama cannot withdraw troops in Iraq as fast as he thought because the situation changed. The Taliban in Pakistan is getting stronger. Already during his campaign O said he will send more troops to Afghanistan.

    Waterboarding IS torture.

The beheadings started after the Abu Ghraib torture pictures were published.

Hamas is O's heritage? That's a little farfetched. In addition Hamas is militant, Obama is not.

Hamas is Netanyahu's counterpart. Tot-for-tat. Both are extremists. Both want the same: Netanyahu wants whole Palestine for Israel, Hamas wants whole Palestine for Palestine.

Will never happen! The only solution, aleady accepted by Israel, the Palestinians, teh Arabs and the US is the 2-state solution.

The Palestinian president Abbas did not accept the proposal of Netanyahu for a 2-state solution as the conditions set forth by Netanyahu were ridiculous and inacceptable for the Palestinians.

Netanyahu's reaction: Again, immediate bombing of Gaza.
I made it through your foxy post, full of faulty statements.

I noticed that you mentioned at least 5 times regarding JTBB...'come on, JTBB, you are smarter than that...' Fozy, foxy, is this your MO (this means modus operandi? it's Latin) this gives me the creeps...
