I did not say oppression did not exist...
what I did say was that it would be worse had it not been for a lot of fed-up white Republicans, and history bears that out, if you would take the time to look at it.

And friend, whites are being oppressed as well. Any time you take race strictly (no matter what race) as the qualifier for ANYthing whether it be a job, a scholarship, being pulled over by a cop, etc...is WRONG. It is wrong for a black or Hispanic or Asian or whatEVER to be given a scholarship based strictly on race over a caucasian who is academically superior. Yep, WRONG. And it is WRONG for a cop to pull over someone strictly because they are black. Yep, WRONG. However, federal LAW mandates the educational and job discrimination, and in an effort to "make up" to blacks for oppression, now we oppress Caucasians? That is no more right. Federally imposed quotas? How is that RIGHT?

I don't know where "around here" is, but if you can prove people are not hiring qualified races other than Caucasian there is a federal remedy. And there certainly is not a federal remedy for not hiring someone who is caucasian because they are caucasian? You think that does not happen? Are YOU living in a bubble?

What I said was racism is wrong and I said that clearly. And that means it is wrong no matter WHAT race it is aimed at...black, white, yellow, red, or polka-dotted!! PERIOD.
opportunities do exist for everyone...
some people just choose not to avail themselves of them. they prefer to have other people take care of them while they sit and do nothing but complain.
That doesn't even exist!!!
Stop watiching MSLSD and get a LIFE!!! You people are so stupid you are going to let this country be taking over by faciist socialists. Are you blind!!!
Christianity did not exist............. sm
in the name of Christianity until Jesus left this earth. (Acts 11:26). Homosexuality was defined as wrong long before that.

How much you want to bet these same problems will exist in 2008? nm

The word "abortion" did not even exist....
when the Bible was written. The Bible is very clear on murder. The strict Hebrew translation of the word that has been translated as "kill" in "Thou shalt not kill" should actually be "Thou shalt not murder." The word means premeditated killing of another human being. Which is exactly what abortion is. Abortion kills the baby...equals murder. I don't know how you can be sure "plenty of it was going on during biblical times." But, if it was, the Bible was very clear on it. It was...and is...murder. Yes, it has been legalized but it does not change what it is. Just call it what it is. Yes, it kills the baby, and we don't care, the mother's need trumps the baby's right to life. That is the unvarnished truth of it.
does this word exist, or is it made up?...nm
nm
And do you have any basis that these allegations DO NOT exist?

And where do these "fresh" soldiers exist? Appalachia?
You seem to forget some of our troops have served 5 tours.......Army personnel are committing suicide at an alarming rate.....there is no draft....the whole premise for the war on Iraq was based on deceit.....can't you dig up some other reason to hate Obama? Your arguments are becoming less and less convincing...even though they have been transparent BS from the get go, IMHO.
Common sense does not exist with the dems

If there already exist specific written policies

pertaining to personal workspace adornment (size, number and/or appropriateness of photographs, posters, banners, political content, sports memorabilia, etc.) then I would agree with you.  If you don't like the policy, don't work there.  Your office is not your personal gallery.

If the company doesn't want somebody hanging up a Soviet flag, then they're probably going to have to prohibit Old Glory as well.

However, if this is a policy formulated on the spur of the moment to appease a complainer, then I disagree.  What's next?  An Ohio State fan complaining about a Michigan pennant in the next cubicle?)  Nor do I agree that new policies should be formulated after the fact to deal with an existing situation just because nobody foresaw it.  If it's an important issue, then a rule should already cover it.

If this is a public area (waiting room/reception area) then I am sure the company must have had the foresight to write a standard regarding decor, since all visitors will see this.  In my opinion, if it ain't covered in that policy, it should be okay.

Interesting that people voluntarily come to this country, going to considerable effort to get here, then so easily become offended and need special accommodations.  What is it they don't understand about "liberty"?  If an American coworker complained about the Ugandan flag in a neighboring workspace, there would be h*ll to pay!  Disciplinary action against the complainer.  Law suits!  ACLU involvement!   Paid leave  and free counseling for the Ugandan employee to get over the trauma of the event!

With all due respect, I didn't bring up white racists (which I know exist), I was talking about s
the people who are zealous about white power and who will feel compelled to do something bad about a black president. I know it could go either way, but my post was stated because of the high probability that our next President will be black. I understand you completely when you say that there are white racists.

As for Louis Farrkhan, my college roommate was a member of the Nation of Islam and was so racist. She once told me that the reason white folks have those red dots in their eyes
when pictures are taken is because they are all evil and are satan's children. She truly believed that. It was very difficult living with her and I tried to get a transfer out of there, but couldn't and had to put up with A LOT of racism from this black woman. So, I know all about reverse racism.

Yes, the chips exist honey. I was speaking directly to the hysteria evoked
It shows a distinct lack of knowledge about the world and the peoples who inhabit it.

As to those that perpetuate this mythos...well, if you allow anyone to prey on your fears, you give them power over you. People need to investigate all sides of an issue, not just the perspective they agree with or the one spoonfed to them.
MSNBC

I see it very differently.  Chris Mathews is a big ole softy who loves, loves, loves this country.  Keith O has a twinkle in his eye and assumes the viewers are well informed.  They both seem to love their jobs and relish discussing politics.  They are my absolute favorites.

MSNBC

I really like their commentators.  I do think they are pro Obama,  but not rabidly so.  Rachel has criticized the Obama campaign at times.  Pat Buchanan certainly is not pro democrat.  Joe Scar is not pro Obama.  I get good information from the pro-O commentators and a balanced viewpoint from the Repub commentators. The commentators have been in politics for years, so they point out things I might not have thought about.  I like Keith O's humor.  When he presents information he gives sources and verification for it.  When he is wrong, he corrects himself.  While I was listening to John McC last night, my mind started to wander.  I remembered then why I used to find politics so boring.  Remember Dole? I think Obama brings energy to politics and makes it worth paying attention to.

I don't believe anything MSNBC says.

MSNBC is not as far as it gets because
they are still a part of the major outlet news conglomerates. You want real left reporting, check out Pacifica.
From what CNN and MSNBC
create enough jobs. Our kids and grandkids will be in debt and so much more negativity.
endless war - msnbc
Good article under world news MSNBC online site.  Frightening.  Michael Scheuer, ex CIA analyst states "rather than move forward towards solutions, the US took a big step backward by invading Iraq".  He states the US has a willingful blindness to what needs to be done:  Withdraw our troops from the Middle East, end unqualified support for Israel, sever close ties to Arab oil state tyrannies.  Bruce Hoffman, veteran RAND Corp specialist fears an endless war and dismisses talk of Al Qaida's back having been broken by the capture of some leaders.  He and a half dozen other terrorist experts say the worlds richer powers must address the underlying causes - lessen the appeal of radicalism by improving economies, political rights and education.  Bush, et al, you have entered into a predicament that has no good outcome.  If this isnt a reason to impeach him, I dont know what is.  He ought to be tarred and feathered in town square.
I saw it on MSNBC this week.
I had seen this commercial before, I believe on the Daily Show (Colbert Report maybe?), and I thought it was one of their jokes.  I was amazed to find out it's real!
MSNBC? Well, that explains it (nm)

msnbc topped Fox

in convention viewers.  Fox's days are over.  There will not be enough audience for them once Baracko takes over.

Wonder when JM or SP interviews on MSNBC
Won't hold my breath on that one. They'll be ll tied up with emergency response damage control and leadership image management.
Ron Allen (MSNBC)

short clip.

The media will try to downplay her accomplishments as when Ron Allen of MSNBC tried to get me to accept that she had too little experience. Watch it here.

I watched a little of MSNBC afterwards
and they were calling it a tie. I figured they would have just called it for Obama. I am a liberal-leaning moderate and do watch MSNBC so I am well aware of their bias, but I was refreshingly surprised to see them be fair on this one.

On another note, any other libs out there been watching the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC? She is great, totally unabashedly liberal, but funny and not in-your-face confrontational. Really smart too, Stanford and a Rhodes Scholar. Yikes, I sound like a commercial!
Only MSNBC and FOX are one sided, not CNN or the others AT ALL
but fox is by far the worst... at least MSNBC doesn't LIE outright.

I see the whiners at NBC and MSNBC
have banned her for life because they can't handle the truth about their slurp fest with Obama. She basically calls them out regarding their blatant love and adoration for the Chosen One.
What would we do without those people at MSNBC?
At least they have a sense of humor -- maybe Fixed News should take a lesson.  They, too, are very funny -- they just don't mean to be!!
I found something about that on MSNBC also..sm

I wonder if I can get in on that action. LOL. I am one of those people who did not buy more house than they could afford and did exercise due diligence by NOT getting an ARM. Oh well....
So, you are also drinking the MSNBC

A little spoof on MSNBC, I think

Uh, oh....What's that I see on MSNBC's website?

I don't watch Hannity....but as far as MSNBC...
have you watched Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? Keith Olbermann is worse than Rush Limbaugh ever thought about being...and yes, I think Rush is condescending and I don't like the talking down on either side. It obscures any point that might be made. I can't watch Chris Matthews for more than 30 seconds and I have never made it past 1 word with Olbermann. And Chris Matthews is realllyyy bad about talking over his guests to make HIS point. So I guess every network has their Hannity/Matthews/Olbermann et al. But, some people like that condescending stuff and find things funny that I don't...but hey, it takes all kinds to make the world turn, I guess.
That's MSNBC's fault for staffing ...
a news event with commentators. Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman are not journalists. They are political commentators, and their opinions are what bring in the ratings on their programs.

But, generally speaking, journalism is just not what it used to be. Impartial reporting and confirmed information have been left at the wayside. These days it's all about getting out the big story fast, whether or not it's actually true.

Walter Cronkite would have choked himself on the air before ever starting a story with "Unconfirmed reports say . . . " How often do we hear that as the lead-in to a news story? Translation: "Rumor has it . . . "

So that's my rant for today. Matthews and Olberman shouldn't be reporting on anything.
MSNBC just stated that the FEC is is going to audit (sm)

Barack Obama. Supposedly, he accepted donations from foreign nationals. Most of these donations were made over the internet and they are going to check into this.

FEC ordered O's compaign to provide more information about large sums of money coming into his campaign recently. Someone donated $11,000 to his campaign under the name of Good Will, and that he worked for YOU. Plus gave the address of Good Will Industries. When contacted, GWI stated they did not donate this money.

Another donation was supposedly by a liquor store in NY, but when contacted, they knew nothing about it.

Although they do not have to disclose small donations ($100-$250), Good Will donated the $11,000 in small increments thinking they would not be found out.

Could it be that the sh## is going to hit the fan soon...hopefully?

Try MSNBC KO, Rachel Madden and CNN

MSNBC will be the only station they will allow to ask questions...

they must be talking to Hugo Chavez about how to handle the press.

MSNBC is the most biased of all the stations

Fox News was voted by the press to be the most fair in their reporting. They compared all the major stations and came up with an average of 40% of all reporting devoted to each side when reporting election news.

Other posters will state Fox is biased, but I have started watching that station and CNBC. I was MSNBC and the others when I need a laugh.

Chris Mathews from MSNBC said
it was a country. Funny they didn't jump down him for that. Then come to find out Gov. Palin never said it.

I would not doubt for a minute that the person putting out the rumors and cut downs of Gov. Palin is no other than John McCain. Would not put it past him.

Also, people forget she didn't ask for this. The GOP went to her and asked her to be the running mate. She's proven herself time and time again she is the person who really excited the party. When McCain failed she would bring the party back up, then they dump on her and treat her like this.

Shameful I say.

and yet another comment from the MSNBC stooge
no meaning to your post, just cut downs to all that don't agree with you.

Maybe you might want to watch or read the news to see what's going on....and stay away from MSNBC so you could get some real news every once in awhile there are plenty of channels to choose from. Then you might even become informed about the events going on in the country.

But your comments here go to show you are part of the problem the left-wing liberal media has. Your posts have no meaning, offer no solutions. Just try (and I say try because it isn't working) to make fun of others. Typical MSLSD attitude.
Yep, MSNBC made a point of going over that

I see it the opposite. You and JTBB, MSNBC,etc

Real journalism? You mean like MSNBC?

Yep, the above-mentioned was just put on MSNBC. Hardly digging deep for

CNN, Fx, MSNBC 1, 2 days behind internet news.

I agree. I've watched ABC,NBC,CNN,MSNBC, etc.

during the election phase and I tend to believe Fox News was the most unbiased of all of them. They give both sides of the story. I'm not talking about Hannity and Colmes, Bill O'Reilly, etc. I generally watch the news portions in the morning, Brit Humes, and Nick Cavuto in the afternoon.

Some posters on this board tend to only watch the biased stations and then call Fox News trash. Well, I don't think so, not when I compared them to the others, and believe me, I didn't find much different between any of the stations where the O was concerned. Same old, same old, whereas Fox reported not only on the O, but Bush, Palin, McCain, and didn't mince words.

I'm not about to get in an argument with anyone over TV stations, but I stand by my judgment.

He did say it. Here is the story. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26633775 nm

MSNBC is deeply in Obama's pocket...
and please don't come back with Fox News is a conservative network. They allow and have contributors on both sides of the aisle and let them air their opinions. MSNBC doesn't allow anyone not for Obama to speak. Everyone should go to each candidate's web site and see how they stand on the issues.
